Exploring Brigham City, Utah - Main Street, Peach City, and Rees Pioneer Park (May 30, 2024)
Brigham City, Utah is about a 20-minute drive north of Ogden. I explored the city by beginning at Rees Pioneer Park, an area that had baseball diamonds, basketball courts, pickleball courts, gathering spaces, and places to fish. Then, I walked through some neighborhoods and made my way up to Main Street for a stop at Peach City, where I ordered a cheeseburger and fries.
After that, I walked down the downtown area of Main Street in Brigham City, including seeing the outside of the Capitol Theatre and the arch that welcomes you to the city. I then walked back down Forest Street to finish the walk where I started, stumbling into a nice dedication to Brigham Young along the way. Filmed on May 30, 2024.

On a Saturday afternoon in Millcreek, Utah, I did a walking video that began in a shopping area before walking through a neighborhood. That led me to some beautiful views as I found Parleys Histroic Nature Park and trail, which I walked down until I found an area where a lot of people were taking their dogs to. Filmed on May 11, 2024. Note: Millcreek is a lot bigger than this video shows, I onl...

I did a tour of the Weber State University campus in Ogden, Utah. This tour is done from a visitor's perspective, as it was my first time there. If you wonder why the campus looked empty, please note that this was filmed during the break between Spring and Summer semester, so no classes were in session. Filmed on May 1, 2024.

Viewing Cleveland from an Airplane: Downtown and West Side
Переглядів 377Місяць тому
While flying in to Cleveland on a Sunday morning, I was able to capture video of parts of Downtown Cleveland and the West Side of Cleveland up until around W. 105th Street, mostly South of Lorain Avenue. Forgive the brief part where I zoomed in at the end; I was trying to find my neighborhood, but the plane had already moved a bit past it. I still kept that footage because at the very last seco...

I was a student at Western Reserve U. In the sixties. Lived at Andrews House, which was a dorm then. Will never forget coming back there Nov 22, 1063, and seeing the TV on with Walter Cronkite [sp?] telling about the Kennedy shooting. Life was never the same after that. Anyway lived in Lakewood until 1974. Worked part time at Detroit Ave. Printing owned by Gary Friedman. His dad had started the business. Lived at a few places in my years there. Last was The Carlyle. Apartments when they were first constructed. My then husband, infant son and I were at Lakewood Park July 4th, 1969, when killer storm blew in off the lake. We were unharmed but other there were not as lucky. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. 😂

Be careful of the fruit vendors. Demand to fill your own bag with what is on display. I was given a good price on strawberries (about the same as a chain store), so i bought 4 pints. He gave me a bag from behind the counter and when i got home, i had 4 pints of "fuzzy" strawberries. All moldy!!!

Family dollar , and dollar General . Does bait and switch operations , where one store will close . And the other store moves in . Both stores carry the exact same physical stock of merchandise . And it’s all made mostly in China 🇨🇳 leading me to believe that both stores are owned by the Chinese government . And both are taking advantage of us tax payers . With this developing nation Lopo law which benefits china . You’ll see both stores in the south do this switcheroo location change about every 10years .

This is an awesome video! Thank you so much. Our last trip a couple weeks ago was the first time buying the 3-day bus pass for $20. We put the app on our phone and actually got it for $10 because we're both retired. We used it to go up and down the strip downtown to Sam's Town to The palms everything 😊

Hi! Thanks for showing more people the Dumke Art Plaza. I am the artist behind this current exhibit that is on view through September 30, 2024 - so you have plenty of time to come back and see the completed work. I worked alongside a crew of amazing Ogden residents and the Shaw Gallery at Weber State University to create the 2 art installations that you highlighted in your video walkthrough. The large suspended artwork is indeed complete. We hung the largest and heaviest sculpture that is structurally possible in the plaza. The other artwork is the colorful fence. That is the part that we are still seeking volunteers to help with. There are sections of the fence that require additional material to be added. Volunteers are welcome between 9am-3pm to come and double knot a piece of the plastic ribbon (which is later recycled) to the fence. The show officially opens on the 31st along with a video artwork show on the big screen there. Happy to answer any questions you have about the artwork, its making, the volunteering aspect, or anything else.

Cool video. I worked there 20 years ago. Back when the fountains still worked and there were more flagship stores. They used to have an Arby’s and a combo kfc/ Taco Bell in the food court. Sbarro was in that pizza spot and the Japanese place was a Sarku. The Burger place on the top was an A&W.

Amtrak's former Union Station is located at 401 W Harrison, some 5 miles due west of the Sky Train stop at 44th Street & Washington. There needs to be some planning for future passenger connectivity between Sky Harbor airport and Amtrak. It seems like the 44th Street location might become a good spot for a re-located Amtrak station. The existing former Amtrak station is currently in use for other purposes. Not sure if it's still owned by Amtrak. Potentially, some future passenger could arrive by plane at Sky Harbor, then take the Sky Train to 44th Street, then hop onto an Amtrak train headed east to Tucson, west towards Yuma & Los Angeles, or northwest to Las Vegas.

1:22:35 A tragic backstory to the construction of the stairway up to Fort Hill: My best friend, Bob Quick, fell 85 feet to his death from Fort Hill on July 26, 1980. His brother, Jim (also a best friend) and I had to negotiate a hazardous climb down the rocks on the side of Fort Hill where the stairs are now, to get to a phone and call 911. His father, a Dentist who had a practice across from the Fairview Theater in Fairview Park (and his family lived in Lakewood) petitioned Metroparks to build a stairway down from the Hill for several years before they finally did in the mid-1980s. While everyone views those stairs as a form of exercise, I view them as a fitting memorial to my friend.
