Super helpful video! Thanks for sharing and being so thorough yet concise!
thank you for the valuable feedback
very helpful comparison - thank you!
my pleasure
I plan to use both of these as well! Thx!
i find them so fit together
Great job! I only wish you would have shown the Table of Contents for each curriculum. I heard that SOTW contains MORE history topics, and would have liked to see what is left out of the Masterbooks curriculum. I appreciate the time you took to film this and your thoughts on each. ❤
Thats a good idea. yes SOTW has more detailed stories of the same events and some extra... if you want i can photo both and send it to your email?
you can send me your email to my instagram account @notes_from_gracerunhome
@@StoriesFromTheNorthwoods very kind of you. Thanks! ❤
This is my plan! I like the strong biblical aspect of MB but prefer the novel base and the student pages from SOTW. Have you used both student pages? If so curious as to which you prefer.
Yes, thats why i plan to use both , my kids just read SOTW by themselves as a novel ))) I havent used the worksheets .
we just oraly discuss))
I would prefer the MB but my highly hands on child does SOTW only because of the activities in the workbook. I wish MB had an activity book too(I know fewer older kids are into them, but mine is one)
yeah, i guess you can combine as i do)))
I think the teacher manual has worksheets and assignments. I’m planning on using MB world history 2 for my 8th grader:)
@@mommyof3smarties yes thats true
We love Masterbooks! I know we’re using America’s Story 1 this year. I really wanted to use a world history as well, maybe alternating the two by semester. So I was going to get Worlds Story 1. But Masterbooks suggested it’s not age appropriate for elementary students. I will have a 7 year old and 10 year old next school season. I’m intrigued to hear you’re using it with young ones, I may have to consider this again.
hi, thank you for your reply, yes, it is totally doable, it depends on children i guess, but i would try maybe sample pages and see how your kids respond. id say totally fine for 10 year old for sure. i have 7 yo, 9yo, 11yo
@@StoriesFromTheNorthwoods in the Fall, I will have a 6 year old and a 7.5 year old. Could this work for those ages or do you think I should wait another year? How much has your 7 yo retained?
@@kayking3313 my 7yo trained to pay attention and retell after.. she retained basic events. not for 6 year old... depends on child. i guess i d say if your child is active and cant sit for long id start from 9years old
@@StoriesFromTheNorthwoods ok, thank you for the quick response. I will go ahead and wait a little while longer. 😊
@@kayking3313 no problem
My kids are 7, 9, and 11 also! I’m looking at The World’s Story 2.
yes we dont that one too. it is good. but level 3 suddenly gets complex with language so you might check that one before you buy, we are doing story of the world for now , after we done #2
Do you read aloud when reading with the children or do you allow the children to read it also? What are they doing while you read?
yes i am reading aloud , they just listen and we stop often to discuss.
I have a son going into the third grade... Would this combo be good for him or would you recommend something else for his grade
my third grader were good with both of those, but you can start with The Story of The Word, it is lie a literature written book, that easy to read and you can do read aloud. the other one you can do after that , it is more advanced , just a bit .
What History Curriculum you are using?
Both.
