Hi Amie, I know you’ve sold your dusty pink Gucci Marmont flap bag, but I wanted to ask about the wear and tear of it. I’ve heard that to keep it from becoming pointy at the top, and flattened, it should be worn double strapped and not cross body or over the shoulder (as a single strap). Did your bag start becoming pointy at all? I am worried this bag might not suit my lifestyle as I rarely wear my bags with shorter straps and much prefer a longer strap, over the shoulder. I also wanted to ask what the wear and tear is like for the small Loulou, as I have also heard that it can sag at the corners. Is the leather more delicate than the Gucci Marmont leather? This was really good but I think you skipped a whole category. Scarves. You can really elevate a look with the addition of an Hermes or Burberry scarf, or even tying a bandeau around the rim of a straw hat in summer. I am a big fan of Prada wallets too. I have a long zip around wallet, which has a wrist strap, for many years and it still looks great and is very functional.

A designer that makes great heels is Salvatore Ferragamo. I got two pairs which I own now for many years, in black leather and brown dantelle. They are absolutely gorgeous and totally worth the investment! Extremely light and elegant if compared with my valentino nude heels! Check them out! Nevertheless you style is great, loved the light sky blue color coat you were wearing at the photo at the airport. What brand is it?
Amie, do you find Nicholas Kirkwood loafers run true to size? as I have a pair of heels from him that I could have done with going up half a size. I sold my Dionysus as I had it in the medium which just read too large on me :( but it is a bag I will always love and I am considering adding it back to my collection in a smaller size. I think because the Dionysus line didn't reach the popularity of the Marmont it will be a classic as people won't get sick of it and be eager to be rid of it. I also need to get an Antigona in the mini size, I have been saying this since last year but I need to pull the trigger asap - I have always loved the Antigona - I think it is a for sure classic, for a bag to still be going strong 10 years after its first iteration shows how classic it is.Furthermore the brand still create it which to me is a marker as to whether a bag will be classic or not.
What do you think of D&G Sicily bag and YSL Cassandra bag? Both are top handle with classic clean lines in my opinion. The Sicily has been around longer and sadly is not a very popular style anymore. Celine is a company with a lot of history but I feel they haven’t been consistent in an “iconic” bag style or logo for a long time (>5 years), and as Amie mentions, consistency is need for “classic” status. The luggage bag I know has more of that longevity but it had such a huge moment, it’s now seen as a old trend bag =\

i rlly wished i loved the givenchy antigona but i went into the store to try it on and the strap straight up slid right off! even the SA was embarrassed...i would not pay for a bag with a chance of having the strap fall off (how embarrassing)! i wish they would make normal hooks for the straps :(

So I always say about 'trendier' bags - the main thing you should consider is whether you love it and use it. For me, the key thing is always cost per wear and if I think I'm getting my money's worth. If you don't love it anymore, I would say sell but don't feel pressured to just because it's not quite as popular as it was :)
I also bought one last year. Though UA-camrs say it’s a trendy design, I feel it’s a design I can wear for the rest of my life. It’s simply a flap bag with chain strap. Sounds familiar? The famous Chanel so-called classic is also a flap bag with chain strap.

'Classic' is different from whether something works for you or not. I.e. the Hermes Birkin is a super classic bag but I know it wouldn't work for me! A bag being classic is about how popular it remains over a period of time - whether it works for you individually is an entirely different matter :)

I just purchased the Manolo Hangisi heels from Farfetch and the pair that arrived were not real/authentic! Would advise that anyone purchasing from Farfetch for Manolos be cautious and inspect the product closely! Thankfully I was able to return and order directly from the Manolo website. Great list!

'Classic' is different from whether something works for you or not. I.e. the Hermes Birkin is a super classic bag but I know it wouldn't work for me! A bag being classic is about how popular it remains over a period of time - whether it works for you individually is an entirely different matter :)

Most brands are included - the main (popular!) exclusion is Gucci I think but most other popular brands are included :)

Personally my favourite brand so far is YSL I’ve a few of their bags & a few Gucci bags inc the disco bag in black. I recent bought the YSL Lou Lou in beige which I’m waiting on being delivered 🥰 I’ve got my eye on so many other bags i really need to start saving up again because I really want to buy one more before the end of the year & maybe a belt too.
I’m not one for shoes just too difficult trying to buy for feet sized 2 & other foot is a 3 🙈 so bags it is 💖

I just purchased the Manolo Hangisi heels from Farfetch and the pair that arrived were not real/authentic! Would advise that anyone purchasing from Farfetch for Manolos be cautious and inspect the product closely! Thankfully I was able to return and order directly from the Manolo website. Great list!
