I say her character has had a great run, there is no deserving better, she did the best she can. she has flaws and grown up well, and also loved a deeply flawed straight male character. She stuck with him until her death. This is why CW Padme is endearing to the straight male fans of SWCW. Women like Padme are becoming a rare species in the real world.

Same thing with the mandolorian, the characters in that show feel more developed than they would in a movie. I really wish more episodes had Padme and Ahsoka. I really like how encouraging and kind she was to Ahsoka and I feel like she a lot of herself in Ahsoka. Ahsoka was a young teen put in a very stressful situation like Padme being a queen of an entire planet (like you'd think that weird medieval rule of rulers being as young as 12 being forced to rule an entire country wouldn't be a thing in space). I mean, Padme is an amazing character and I love her and Anakin's relationship but why was a literal teenager in charge of a planet?
She was "elected" Queen of Naboo, there's deleted scenes where she explains to Anakin she was the youngest Queen ever elected and she served two terms and she was so popular they were going to amend the constitution so she could remain past her term limit but she stepped down and chose to serve the new Queen as a senator. In contrast to Palpatine who wouldn't give up his emergency powers.
I like to hope Padme was guiding Leia in spirit. In many way mother and daughter lived each other's ideal lives. But they both still went through such hard times but made so many people survive and happy while surviving. And of course helped massively ready the path for what will hopefully be a long lasting relative peace.
