Big fan of the 510C and was looking at the 512C, but decided to go with the AEMS & I’m very happy I did! My AEMS was a perfect addition to my Blackout build. It quickly became my new favorite, looking to pick up another one soon. Great optic!!!
@@calebburrichter8452 Shooting both eyes open you won't notice, unless you present the rifle VERY off angle. On a long gun that's pretty hard to do unless shooting in weird positions. I wouldn't really worry about window size too much.
@@calebburrichter8452 the AEMS is a bit smaller, but not really enough to be an issue for me. The widow is still significantly larger then most of the other red dot style optics I’ve owned. The other things that help sway my decision we’re the over all foot print on the rail is smaller, it’s about half the weight and it’s a bit taller. My plan was to pair with a 3X Holosun magnifier so that’s why rail space and weight were taken into consideration. I went in set in the 512, but when I compared them I was very impressed with the AEMS and was won over. I’ll be picking up another one for sure.

I love the AEMS because I’m a EOTech fan but don’t use them for my home defense AR because of the battery. The AEMS and the automatic shutoff was the seller for me. The only bad part is the mount so I replaced it with a ADM qd mount. Looks good under NV as well.
I wish they made this in a gold dot. The HE512C-GD is great but it's a bit bulky and heavy for a compact or lightweight build. Also while I'm on that subject, they need to make greed dots for the 507c and 507k optics as well.
I put an EoTech on my 300 BLK 9” SBR. Love it, however, I will never spend that kind of $$ again. It was a “no expense sparred” build. I can appreciate HOLOSUN quality & price point.
After mounting the AEMS on my 9 mm RUGER PC carbine I found the standard mount a bit too high. I added a MAGPUL MOE 1/4" snap on cheek piece to my MAGPUL stock that came with my RUGER PC. VOILE'! a fast, low cost way to get perfect eye-to-reticle alignment with my cheek weld. IMHO this sight will be the best PCC sight for several years to come.

I bought the very first one of these. serial number 1. I already know when stuff is awesome way before you guys because i am awesome. For real though, I prefer this $430 optic over my Trijicon MRO HD $700 ish.

I can't find a comparison of the AEMS and the 512 series. It's like no one else notices they seem to occupy the same niche and have basically the same features other than the lens caps and the fact that there's a titanium version of the 512. I still don't understand why the AEMS exists given that.
the 512 is larger i believe a larger window. I have both but not in front of me. On a full size build (galil ace ) i prefer the 512 but on my mpx i have an aems
@@MF-Rell for mr i would take the 512 unless ya need a true holographic sight. the eotechs eat batteries. no matter which model. my 512 has original batteries and it's 2-3 years old. between that and the shake awake. the 512's are like $399 and eotechs are $475 and up. I do have a few eotechs but if i had to choose just one it be the 512 just for battery life alone.
I just bought an aems and have a problem. It seems my aems is stuck in auto mode. When indoors the brightness keeps auto adjusting to the point where it'll just shutboff when in a brightly lit area. Also shuts off when i put my hand over the solar panels. I've tried to put it into manual mode by holding the + for 3 seconds like the instructions say but it just turns it off. No blink to confirm it has changed modes. I can toggle through different reticles by holding the - button. But while holding the + button it only turns my dot on and off. If anyone else knows how to fix please help. Thank you
It pains me that Holosun products are made in China. However, I must confess that I own one (different model). The circle/dot reticle is my favorite. The auto on/off feature is great. Rugged and no significant parallax problems. I expect that this one is more of the same, although I couldn’t care less about the silly solar panel on top. That seems like one more system to go wrong, and easy to break on top of the red dot.
I am currently having a huge problem with Holosun from a customer service/ warranty standpoint. Basically they are not emailing me back on a warrant covered issue. They won’t call me either or address the issue when I call. They claim it has to start through email but they won’t email me back.
@@MF-Rell Key words being "for you". Given the fact that 84% of civilian self-defense shootings are at maximum of 7 yards, you won't notice your astigmatism in a gun fight. I have astigmatism. I had an Eotech XPS2 on my home defense AR carbine and replaced it with Aimpoint PRO. If things go bump in the night, I like not having to turn on my sight. With my Aimpoint I have only had to replace the battery out every 4 years. I would definitely take the Aimpoint or even the Holosun over an Eotech.
@@MF-Rell I have astigmatism and can shoot 2-6moa red dots on rifles and pistols out to 100 yards easily. Sight acquisition was no difference for me in pretty much any optic I use. All the way up to 4x ACOG's. All in the training.
I really like that setup you have there. I've never been sold on red dots. To be honest I have never tried one. But a 300blk and red dot would make a nice cqb rifle
I had a shell miracle bounce back into solar cell and crack cover for solar cell. But I can't warranty until I got a core or 510c. I need a dot on deck or I feel funny.
I use a Holosun optic on my rifle. The fastener has loosened up on me a couple of times. I'm not sure if I just am not tightening it enough, or if I should use something on the fastener to hold it place. Any advice on that?
Yes, and no...every reflex sight has small parallax, but for naked eye and every day purpose, it's very small.... total parallax free are only holographic sights..I still love reflex sights more than holographic ..
I remember when holosun came out they have came far but I myself still prefer American made optics 🤷♂️ just like to see my money going back into the country as much as possible! Other then that I have nothing bad to say about this brand myself vortex has pretty good optics to! But Trijicon surefire eotech might be more expensive but the quality and costumer service is excellent

It drives me nuts. “Whenever I was tightening it down”… WHEN I was tightening it down. It just drives me bonkers. Almost like the person was raised in a family and/or school that an IQ of 75 was considered average. In my family an IQ below 120 was “get out of this house” and improper grammar was corrected every single time. Then again I was raised in the best schools in the USA. My sister was in full time college at 16 and in my school you had the mentally’uh oh’ below average classes. The Average classes. The AP classes. Then the IMAST/IMUS classes we got college credits for while in middle school. I get not everyone was raised the same and not everyone’s high school parking lot looked like a Mercedes dealership parking lot. Bad grammar as an adult, just reflects on the parents and schooling. It irks me as an adult. In my company that’s how I can tell if the person can afford to pay to play or if they’re just blowing smoke. Yeah. There’s definitely a difference for me with a micro dot and holo style reflex sights, which is why I asked the guy who used both.

Closed emitter red dots are the way to go now, and this is one of my favorites!

The AEMS not only is enclosed but also has lens covers that can be quickly flipped down in case they are covered in mud or snow.

AEMS is a bit more rugged and smaller, it also has a removable mount, which means it's easier to setup for absolute or lower 1/3 cowitness.

I had that same problem with a different company. Turns out I made a typo in their email address and they were not getting my emails.

Yes to blue loctite. The screws are very delicate so definitely don't over tighten them.
