I love how she acknowledges every presenters on stage in every awards show. Very down-to-earth and outgoing!! She is an embodiment of who I want to be. :)
chet michael I could give a fuck about all that other shit. She’s been conststently killing it for decades. You can have your panties in a bunch, that’s your deal. But don’t let the wool completely consume your eyes.
I appreciate Frances winning because she's one of the few women in that room to be where she is because of talent and not because of her looks. Go Frances!
For people lost by her two words: Inclusion rider “Inclusion rider” is a clause that an actor can insist be inserted in their contract that requires cast and crew on a film to meet a certain level of diversity.
In case anyone is wondering an inclusion rider is a clause in an actor’s contract that requires the cast and crew be diverse in order to retain the actor... She is an amazing lady.
An inclusion rider is a stipulation that the cast and/or the crew in a film reflect real demographics, including a proportionate number of women, minorities, LGBTQ individuals and people with disabilities. Big-name actors who have leverage in negotiations could put this stipulation into their contracts and drastically change representation in film.
Why should the cast and crew reflect "real demographics"? Why shouldn't it reflect "real talent", like, say, the NBA? After all, if the NBA reflected "real demographics" there would be 65% white and 15% hispanic and 6% asian. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I LOVE how she always shakes hands with the people who give the statur (you know usually interns or celebrities children etc.). You don't see people do that a lot, in my opinion it shows how much of a nice person she is and I love her for that.
I totally LOVE how Frances is so real. I love how she embraces who she is. She is funny and serious at the same time. I adore her. Well deserved, Frances! I want to hug you so bad right now.
It shouldn't be surprising that she stands with her fellow women and wanted to share recognition (some day, equal pay). Stating "Inclusion Rider" further exemplifies her desire for opportunities to extend everyone. FYI - "An “inclusion rider” is a clause that an actor can insist be inserted in their contract that requires cast and crew on a film to meet a certain level of diversity." Frances also gave thanks to two men who she declared "value themselves, each other and those around them". I believe she is striving for mutual respect all around the board which should be equally reciprocated. What a wonderful world that would be! Sounds like an incredible goal that we can all strive for.
+carlos tejada She does not hate men, you're projecting. She doesn't look like a man, she looks like Frances McDormand. How is feminism sick? It's simply advocating the equal treatment of men and women. Anyone who tells you different is ignorant or a liar.
I have so much admiration for francis mcdormand. i admire the way she doesnt give a fuck what anyone thinks, she stands up for what she believes and that ladies and gentlemen is the person i aspire to be. francis mcdormand you are an icon and a great role model keep being yourself.
je suis très triste pour Sally car son rôle dans "la forme de l'eau" était tout simplement merveilleux, maintenant comme je n'ai pas vu le film avec Frances McDormand, je pense que c'est mérité alors bravo !
I think Margot Robbie really deserved it. Well, also Saoirse Ronan. But you're also right about Sally Hawkins. And Frances really deserves her award. What I want to say: This was an insanely strong category this year, and you can make a case for pretty much all of them for deserving the award.
You're right. Margot as Tonya was scary good, and it's my first time seeing her so real and heartwrenching in a role (all I've seen of her are in Wolf and Suicide) so she blew me away. I've been rooting for Saoirse since time immemorial, Atonement is one of my fave films of all time and she's such a talented young actress. The thing about her is she's so Irish but she turns into an American girl like nobody's business when it comes to acting. I wanted Sally Hawkins to win because she literally had next to zero lines in The Shape of Water (apart from her singing daydream), had no script to work with, and had to deliver all her lines through sign language and I felt her attack and passion in it. It really was like watching an angry mute woman try to explain to her gay friend that she needs to rescue the love of her life.
I can't argue with any of this, I think you're 100% correct on pretty much all points. As I said, it's not like I can argue against any of these nominations... Here is why I think Margot Robbie was the most impressive one to me personally (and mind you, that's a completely subjective impression I had while watching the movie): I think "I, Tonya" completely relies on her. I think if you strip away her great performance, the movie isn't that great anymore. On the other hand, if you take away Frances McDormand or Sally Hawkins, and replace them with only average actresses (obviously, you can't just replace them with terrible ones, then it wouldn't work anymore), these movies would have so much else to carry them, that they still would work. Frances McDormand, Saoirse Ronan or Sally Hawkins did not carry the entire weight of their movies. I think to some extent, Margot Robbie did. But this is really, really subjective. I wished they could have all gotten an award :-D
Frances McDormand is the absolute shit!! I fucking love her!! So well deserved win! She is an exceptional actress, a badass feminist who always speaks her mind and does not hold anything back!! She’s the definition of a badass mothafucking boss!!
It shouldn't be surprising that Frances McDormand stands with her fellow women and wanted to share recognition (some day, equal pay). Stating "Inclusion Rider" further exemplifies her desire for opportunities to extend to everyone. I believe she is striving for mutual respect all around the board which should be equally reciprocated. What a wonderful world that would be! Sounds like an incredible goal that we can all strive for. Her passions on these subjects were more than evident. You might not like the delivery but the message is crucial....and she deserves credit for continuing the conversation.
Only three words to define Frances McDormand: LIKE A BOSS
*BIG BOSS!*
SuBhaYU BiSwaS LIKE A BIG FUCKING AMAZING BOSS !!! 👌🏿
*stupid fucking boy!*
One word: cocaine.
like a boss and ignore the kiss from jennifer lawrence lmao
I love her. She seems actually genuine, she marches to the best of her very own drum. Love her energy and her message.
"Meryl if you do it everybody else will" lmao
Armando Castaneda It’s true. Meryl runs actor Hollywood. Period.
Armando Castaneda It’s true. Meryl runs actor Hollywood. Period.
I guess Im pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream new movies online ?
Well deserved. She might seem a bit weird but that's her style and i like it. And no comparison for her acting skills obviously .
I love how she acknowledges every presenters on stage in every awards show. Very down-to-earth and outgoing!! She is an embodiment of who I want to be. :)
2:12 When the teacher calls on you but you weren't paying attention
COOLT12

Well done Frances, you killed it. One of the GOAT.
chet michael I could give a fuck about all that other shit. She’s been conststently killing it for decades. You can have your panties in a bunch, that’s your deal. But don’t let the wool completely consume your eyes.
her laugh sounds like a goat.
If 3 Billboards wasn't enough, I fell in love with her here.
I appreciate Frances winning because she's one of the few women in that room to be where she is because of talent and not because of her looks.
Go Frances!
Mel1lvar and married to a Cohen brother.
Ha very true. I was trying to make a point about Hollywood and beauty standards but Hollywood and nepotism, now that's a real topic!
I was half expecting Frances to lead all the women outside and burn the building with all men inside.
Sachin Singh hahahaha
Sachin Singh oh dear
Sachin Singh she can't even lead a speech like she could lead a bunch of dumb wits out the door.
Sachin Singh LOL!!!
Method acting😂
Dear Lord I love this woman too much she is super talented, funny, smart, and extraordinary! A very well deserved Academy Award! #TeamFrances
There shall be one oscar for this incredible Oscar Speech.
Your a legend Frances your speech was exceptional
For people lost by her two words: Inclusion rider
“Inclusion rider” is a clause that an actor can insist be inserted in their contract that requires cast and crew on a film to meet a certain level of diversity.
so diversity over best person for the job, got it.
diversity and best for the job are not mutually exclusive.
zack19192 if Hollywood hadn't shut out women and minorities for decades, this wouldn't be an issue. But it is, so this what happens. People push back.
My caption on my tv said “inclusion writer” lol
Thank you, Raydanz, I was scratching my head. This helps a lot.
Bravo, Frances!
Her laughter is so contagious and unique.
“If i fall over, pick me up coz I’VE GOT SOME THINGS TO SAY”
Best speech ever
In case anyone is wondering an inclusion rider is a clause in an actor’s contract that requires the cast and crew be diverse in order to retain the actor...
She is an amazing lady.
thanks for telling us. i thought she said inclusion writer LOL

yeahhh.....thats true....
Chalky Von Kekian there’s tons of talented minorities out there that don’t get the part
Why should the cast and crew reflect "real demographics"? Why shouldn't it reflect "real talent", like, say, the NBA? After all, if the NBA reflected "real demographics" there would be 65% white and 15% hispanic and 6% asian. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
An unforgetable speech
The line - " pick me up cause i've got some things to say...." gets me every time. I love her. Congrats Frances...Congrats.
Well deserved Oscar win by Frances McDermott. A powerful speech as well.
I knew she was going to win Best Actress. She deserved it! Her performance in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” was phenomenal!
Loved the way she kicked foster😂😂😂
I LOVE how she always shakes hands with the people who give the statur (you know usually interns or celebrities children etc.). You don't see people do that a lot, in my opinion it shows how much of a nice person she is and I love her for that.
I totally LOVE how Frances is so real. I love how she embraces who she is. She is funny and serious at the same time. I adore her. Well deserved, Frances! I want to hug you so bad right now.

She was great on Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri movie. So bossy and yet vulnerable underneath her tough image. Well deserved
She is Always SO loyal and caring to other women. I admire her solidarity, and her talent.
It shouldn't be surprising that she stands with her fellow women and wanted to share recognition (some day, equal pay). I don't admire someone who hates men, and try to look and be like one, instead of being woman.
I'm sooo tired of this sick feminism
How do you figure she hates men? She's married to one of Cohen Brothers, famous directors. Read a book.
+carlos tejada She does not hate men, you're projecting. She doesn't look like a man, she looks like Frances McDormand. How is feminism sick? It's simply advocating the equal treatment of men and women. Anyone who tells you different is ignorant or a liar.

je suis très triste pour Sally car son rôle dans "la forme de l'eau" était tout simplement merveilleux, maintenant comme je n'ai pas vu le film avec Frances McDormand, je pense que c'est mérité alors bravo !
I wanted Sally Hawkins to win but Frances McDormand was a force
kudos
I think Margot Robbie really deserved it.
Well, also Saoirse Ronan.

When she said "Khloe Kim" I literally thought she was referencing the Kardashians and I was shook tg she clarified
Wow, one of the few people that doesn't turn into a phony as soon as a lense is pointed at her.

She looks crazy lol
I wish hijacking as a criminal offense would extend to the Oscars.
Statue drop. We all called this. Let’s pat ourselves on the back. Amazing actress.
