- Manchester are suing the Premier League over the idea that their regulations are unlawful. This is ahead of the hearing for the 115 charges the Premier League have brought against their reigning champions!

This will boil down to one thing. Who sets the Premier league rules, The Premier League or Man City? Clubs sign up to the rules and that should be the end of it. If Man City don't like them, they should bugger off.

Saw this portrayed slightly differently today: Man City's execs are leaving (CEO Berrada already gone to United), Pep almost certainly off at the end of next year... Rats leaving a sinking ship, I feel. The Prem will win this (and have to see it through).
Pep will be off this summer if all that is true.

Hi Ben, back in the early 90's Jack Walker brought the league my uncle said to me that football would never be the same from that moment on because money was now what was running & ruining the game, it has only got more rotten the more the years go on. I hate the thought that my club needs to get promoted to gain the money that is required to keep going, sky & premier league have killed are game. QPR supporter.
I was a Man City fanatic as a kid/teenager back in the 70's. Not interested anymore. I live in Spain, where La Liga is just about whether Real Madrid or Barcelona will win. Highly predictable and highly boring but unfortunately it's a vicious circle. All the kids want to support a team that always wins because that's the kind of society we've become, hence, the rich become richer. I only follow EFL these days because it's far more unpredictable and therefore interesting.
You're right about the EFL. Using last season's Championship as an example, the only weak link in the division was Rotherham.

The game has gone, its all about who has the richest owners. If you don't have a multi billionaire owner backing your team then you have no chance of ever winning anything. All teams below the so called big 6 teams rich teams, then you're only playing to stay in the Premier League. Its not a level playing field. Money has spoilt the once beautiful game.
The charges against City and what is happening with it all is massive. Either which way the outcome goes it's going to effect the Prem league for years to come. Drop the charges and every club who breach the rules will use this to get off. Stay with the charges should mean every club should be treated in the same way, as it should be.
Their owners threatening to pull all the money out of the club, Prem league and even the country shouldn't be allowed now or ever. I feel a lot of the charges will be dropped and they'll go with the ones that will result in the worst punishments. Time to see if the Prem do have a backbone

If the clubs ARE the Premier League, then they are the ones who voted these regulations in, so how can Man City really think that they can, in effect, sue themselves, and the regulations that they agreed would be adhered to by majority vote?
Football is well and truly finished as a sport we can just enjoy without nonsense..how can they agree to the rules changes but now disagree and basically are trying to sue themselves anyway that ship will sink faster than the titanic..

Generally I would suspect that this is a case of sue each other and try to out spend the opposition. If either party were to lose then the financial implications could be huge in my humble opinion.
Although City have obviously more resources, which is part of the problem.
Once you feed the monster then you have the chance of losing control and here we are.
If you support city I would imagine that you are really enjoying the current situation and why wouldn’t you?

The biggest issue though is that the premier league could be in danger of becoming exactly the same as the Scottish premiership. A one club league. And who wants that?

when did APT come in to the premier league rules. What year did citys 115 charges end. APT 2021 City charges 2018 nothing to do with 115 who ever wins regarding APT it does not affect the 115 charges any way shape or form. The one thing that will happen is the UK goverment will step in and become a independent auditor to ensure the premeir league is ran correctly. City do not have to challenge this rule as they have plenty of money from doing the treble last season then winning prem 4 times on the bounce this season. They are challenging as they think its anti competive and against the UK anti competition laws.
I never ever thought this would happen to me but I’m on the verge of completely losing my love for football. It’s just ridiculous now. And don’t think it’s just the PL, albeit they’re by far the worst, because there’s stuff going on elsewhere that’s dancing along the line of dodgy or not. Hated the idea of the European super league but frankly if they bugger off completely let them get on with it. That’s not what they wanted though because they wanted the PL and the ESL at the same time thereby padding even more their financial advantage.

The PL is a circus, clubs can't decide the rules on FFP.. they've spent a fortune and won everything, aka Chelsea when they had more than a fiver in their pocket.. make them play with pebbles in their boots as a punishment, we can all have a laugh then...

It's just a preemptive strike and if those rules are illegal in the first place then bringing in the other 19 clubs will make zero difference to the outcome.

Discrimination is actually really important. If you are in a monogamous relationship, you are discriminatory. There is also nothing wrong with discriminating against Gulf states if it makes sense.
