Code 5 Lead Capping To A Single Storey Extension

In this video I install code 5 lead capping to a single storey extension.
This is the 3rd and final stage of works. Of a job that I've been working on in my hometown of Brighton. Its been really lovely working close to home. It doesn't usually happen very often.

How long you been in the trade?
You must go through a lot of lighters.😁Maybe cheaper to buy a new torch or rewire the flint gun.

Thank you. I’ve been in the trade for 29 years. I started doing this straight from school. I wish I started the UA-cam channel up sooner. There’s so many jobs I would have loved to document.
I’d love to rewire the flint gun. But I’m not sure if it’s possible. Do you have any knowledge of this ?.

So good. Watched every second. What does the builders paper underneath the lead achieve ? Anti slip ?

think it makes it easy for the lead to breath underneath and expand and contract

Thank you. The builders paper protects the underside of the lead from alkalies in concrete, stone, and screed.
And also reduces corrosive attack when laying lead onto plywood or oak.
