    I've made up some intakes that take ITBs from a Triumph motorcycle. Should be able to save a couple of grand over Jenveys.

    This is really exciting. You're building what I've been daydreaming about. I can't wait to watch your progress. I have a couple thoughts though. You mention the need to do a brake upgrade. I know at least some of the BRZ's got the performance package, which provided Brembo brakes. I was wondering if that isn't suitable for your uses, or I guess curious to know more about your intentions regarding brakes. Also, with the need for an upgraded clutch I wonder how that will improve pedal feel. Having owned an FRS, I know it was on the lighter side. The right choice could make for a really nice clutch pedal feel. Can't wait to see what you pick. Looking forward to seeing what you get into, and I really appreciate the level of detail you are going into.

      Thanks. We’ll start with OEM (except the clutch) and see how we go, upgrading things where necessary.

    The legacy radiator is height 13.78in and width 27.2in the stock Frs 86 BRZ is height 14in and width 25.56in with a little modding i think it will work

      @leedfollow  Місяць тому

      Stock 86 radiator is fine. No need to try to fit a Legacy radiator in there. But thanks anyway.

      @leedfollow you will have to do extra Plumbing I believe. The legacy radiator has two outlets. I just thought it would look cleaner 🤷‍♂️

    I think Toyota should have offered the 2 GRFE 3.5 L V6 as an option.

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  17 днів тому

      I have thought that maybe in future a 2GR or 1UR/2UR would be a good swap. But in order to stick with the original spirit of the car an EZ30/36 would be more appropriate and simpler to install :)

    did you also pick up a raptor cold air intake? theyre getting a little rare now. Another good option would be Kobe Motorsports, also an Australian company that sells a proper cold air intake for the ez30

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  8 місяців тому

      No I’m sticking with the stock intake until its been dyno’d, then if I need more air i’ll probably be throwing all the intake in the bin for ITB’s

    hey thank you for doing this swap, why the ez30 versus ez36?

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks. I mentioned in the video 3x reasons - 1) the EZ36 doesn’t rev well compared to the EZ30 2) EZ36 is a lot more expensive 3) lack of aftermarket EZ36 parts (y)

    Forgot to ask, what is the weight balance difference between stock engine, and ez30 setup you have?

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  9 місяців тому +2

      Stay tuned and we’ll be weighing both engines as we go through the project (y)

    I want to do the same, but the whole emissions thiig is a pain. So much pointless overreach unfortunately.

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  9 місяців тому

      Emissions shouldn’t be an issue unless you are somewhere really strict. Which Country are you in?

      @leedfollow  9 місяців тому

      @matthewwain9958 Ah I see. Yeah I know emissions laws can be quite strict in some US states. We have it pretty easy in England. You can pretty much put any engine in any vehicle.

  • @cct3053
    @cct3053 9 місяців тому

    Why not EZ36?

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  9 місяців тому +4

      Good question. As I mentioned in the video I spent a lot of time deciding between the EZ30 and EZ36. EZ36 is a lot more expensive to purchase, does not like to rev high (designed more for low down torque) whereas the EZ30 does & very few tuning parts available for the EZ36. Once this car is finished I would like to revisit the EZ36 and see if more aftermarket parts are available. There was someone working on a 4.0 stroker kit for the EZ36 but that project appears to have been canned now.

    • @cct3053
      @cct3053 9 місяців тому +1

      @@leedfollow Thanks for replay, so is a price and high revs question

    • @leedfollow
      @leedfollow  9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah totally. EZ36 at the moment isn’t really a good option for a track car. But fingers crossed in the future it will be an option.
