Plants To Buy, Plants To Plant! ( And An Archway Or Two! )

- Arriving at a garden centre is a gardener's delight with so many plants and gardening goodies to choose from. Us gardeners as you know can't help ourselves but to come back home with more plants, seeds and garden related products etc than we intended to buy. 😂
Here all we set out to buy was a cherry tree and a plum tree for the allotment. We came back with much more as you can imagine!
We bought the cherry tree and other plants at the first garden centre and moved on to another garden centre for the plum tree.
It was at the second garden centre that I found some eco friendly slug pellets made from wool. I bought a small packet to try them out on the allotment flower bed.
Back to the home garden, I dug out two echinops plants. They have a prety blue flower but grew too big for the flower bed last year so I dug them both up to take to the allotment.
At the allotment I dug up the blackcurrant bushes to replant them and discovered that they have very little roots on them so must have been cuttings.
I planted the Erysymum plants in the flower bed and put the wool slug pellets around the slug eaten plants.
Gogi Berry plants need to be dug up as we are moving the pathway to line up with the pathway on the bindweed plot. Once that is done then it's on to build 2 archways. They will be used as plant supports for the beans or peas later on in the season.
Thank you for watching, liking my video and subscribing. I really appreciate it.
Love from Linda ❤

I can always find something that I "need" in a garden center. 🌻🥀🌻
So true me too!! 😂 Garden centre 🥀🌺🌷🥀🪻🌻💐 is my favourite shop 👍😂❤️
Thanks for taking us along with you. Have a wonderful day
Thank you 👍😁
You have a great day too ❤️
I'd be like a kid in a sweets shop in that garden centre 😂.
Hi Ibr 🤗❤️
You certainly would love that garden centre. Doug was getting fed up with me looking at all the plants etc as we only went for 2 fruit trees 😂😂😂
Thank you for the plants Linda. You are very kind xx
You are more than welcome Cheryl, my lovely allotment plot neighbour 🤗❤️
@@Feelgoodgardens as are you Linda 💕
@@cherylprice1790 Awww thanks Cheryl 💐❤️ xx
Shopaholic you are! I can't complain as you frequently get me goodies too 😂 so I encourage your shopping addiction! Great update linda. You're a joy to watch. Danny 🌱
Awww that's so nice of you to say Danny ❤️ Wonder what garden centre will be next and what we'll buy 😂😂😂
Pathway with arches looks lovely ❤
Awww thank you so much. ❤️Hoping to give an update on the allotment archways but it's been raining so much this week. Will do soon though. 👍😀
@@Feelgoodgardens I'll look forward to it 😊

J'adore aller dans les magasin de jardinage 😊

Hi 👋
Garden Centres are usually gardeners favourite shops 😍😂
😉😉😉@@Feelgoodgardens
Your new pathway and arches look great, it really ties the two plots together, lovely job that Linda 😊 Hopefully will catch up with you over Easter, hope you had a lovely holiday. Take care 😊
I like those little daffodils. The bee 🐝 and your music 🎶 good luck with the wool pellets. ❤
Thank you Sheryl ❤️
Fingers crossed the wool pellets on the flower garden will work 👍🌺
Love a garden centre visit Linda. I would like a nice Cherry tree. I would like to do a mini orchard in my back garden 🪴 your plot is looking fantastic you have put a lot of love in it 🤗🌱🐝
Awww thank you Amir 🤗❤️
I noticed that Morrisons had cherry trees and other fruit trees and they were much cheaper than the garden centres. We should have waited 🙈
😂😂 your as bad as me in the garden centre I went for a pack of seeds and left $50 poorer. We decided against a cherry tree we have so many crows we’d never get any 😅. Hope your trees do well 💪. It will be so nice to get out in the garden without winter coats on. I use mostly beer traps because I found organ pellets don’t work. Have a super week Linda and have fun in the sun, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Nice to hear that someone else is like me in the garden centres Ali 👍😂
I forgot about using beer traps thanks for the reminder 👍 Have a great time in the garden, raining here but you enjoy the sunshine 🌞 ❤️
I love a garden centre I’m laid up at the moment with a heavy cold so Thankyou for taking us on your visit today it’s made my day! 💚xx
Awww thanks Lorraine 🤗
I'm so pleased that it did some good for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️
Great garden center tour. I do love a trip to the garden center 😂
The plot is looking great too all your efforts will show later in the year for sure ❤
Thanks Tracey ❤️
The Garden Centre is usually a gardeners favourite shop 😂
Hi Linda, if you can encourage frogs and toads to your pond, they will keep the slugs and snail population down. 😊 Haydn
Thanks Haydn
I have baby tadpoles in my pond so hopefully I'll have frogs soon 👍😊
@Feelgoodgardens I have just watched your latest video showing the tadpoles 😊😂. The arches look well tidy.
Which aerating plants do you use in your pond please? I am starting one on my plot. Haydn
It’s so hard to resist walking into a garden centre, and always nice to add to your flower borders , looks lovely Linda 😊
Awww thanks Tracy ❤️
We need to allow for extras visiting a garden centre 😂
Garden Centers and Thrift shops are like sweets shops - you can always find something you like 🍭🌷or "need". 💸
That's so true, us gardeners need more will power but then it wouldn't be so much fun would it 😂
I blooming loved watching you around the garden centre. You’re just like me. I call it “magpie syndrome” - excited over all the pretty or shiny things 😂
Great idea to move that path over to keep the plots flowing together. The archways look stunning. They’re going to look amazing with beans growing over them.
Lovely update ❤
Hi Clare 👋 and thank you ❤️
I love that magpie syndrome when at garden centres 👍😂
We had the day out with lunch at the first garden centre and a cuppa and cake at the second one. Can't wait for the next day out 👍😂
@@Feelgoodgardens you know how to make the most of those trips 🙌🏼❤️
Love a good garden centre trip out 😂
And I think the gimbal device thing is fab! Always watching you 😂
The slugs had my tulip leaves, couple have holes in but nothing lost 🌷
Fingers crossed for that wool Linda 🐌
Flower patch is beautiful too 🌺🌼🌸🪻
Enjoy your weekend Linda
Rach 🙂🌱
Thanks Rach ❤️
Garden Centre is my favourite shop 😂🥀🪻🌻🌷🌺
Love my gimbal but he doesn't like windy weather at the allotment so I have to use my static camera holder then.
I didn't have enough of those wool pellets so spotted some brown wool in Aldi but didn't buy it as too much acrylic in it. Thought it would work out cheaper if I could cut up my own 😂 They seem to be ok though otherwise.
Have a fabulous weekend Rach 🤗❤️
@@Feelgoodgardens haha mine too when I don't spend too much 😂
It maybe worth asking on Facebook if anyone local uses butternut box dog food. It's wrapped in sheep wool and it can be used to compost or for pests. I've got loads and will be using it as a mulch on the brassicas 🙂🌱
And you too Linda 🌼 take care x
Archways look lovely Linda good job, fingers crossed that those wool pellets work for you ❤
Hi Lisa 🤗 and thank you ❤️
I think I needed a few more of the wool pellets for the allotment but bought plants and seeds instead 😂
Ah everyone loves a garden centre visit 💚. Cherry tree looks great 👍. Slugs have demolished my tulips too! They are already on a rampage so I had better get some protection sorted.
Archways look great 😃. Tempted to get some myself but think I need to learn when to stop 😅😂 it's not like I haven't got 101 other things that need doing first 😆.
Had a look through my seeds and the entrant for the sunflower challenge is going to be 'Russian Giant' expect I'll get them sown in the next couple of weeks 👍🌱
Thanks Joe ❤️
Those slugs are a nuisance in the garden aren't they. I'm so pleased you are joining in with the sunflower challenge 🌻🌻🌻 👍😍
Thankyou for sharing Linda, the arch ways look right posh, there really lovely ❤
Awww thanks you Joyce ❤️
Hoping to film again soon it's done nothing but rain here this week 🙄
Oh heck it's been raining here now for months, can't remember when we had a day of sunshine. Our allotments are a soggy muddy mess and it's still cold.Still lve just started sowing lots of seeds and everywhere in our house is filled with seed trays.Hopefully if the weather gets better next week l can move everything down to the plot, the house looks an absolute mess 😒😆😊😊🌱🌱🌱
@@joycehennequin8469 we've had the odd dry day and a bit of sunshine 🌞 but mainly rain here too Joyce 🌧️☔🙄
🐝Thanks for the great video🌻 Noooo Linda stay away from the garden centers!!!
Ow you harvesting some death sticks :P
Hi Sandra 👋and thank you❤️
I should take your advice and stay away from garden centres, no will power 😂
Great shape on your cherry tree, love the flowers you picked, alpines are so beautiful at this time of the year. That frog bird bath, I have the exact same one in my front garden at home! The birds keep knocking the frog over! Grinch does the same, he hides when I am in a garden centre! Good choice for the plum tree! The arches look fantastic! Love everything you are doing! 😘💕🌸
Awww thanks Nanou 🤗❤️
I wish I'd have bought the frog bird bath now at the garden centre and one for Danny as he liked it too. Sometimes you have to resist but it isn't always the right decision 😂😂😂
@@Feelgoodgardens it was a great price! I paid £24 for mine! I couldn’t believe it! 😂🤣💕💕
Good price too Nanou ❤️
The knee pads suit you and all set for some skateboarding Linda😉.
Thanks Ibr 👍
Maybe I should invest in one for the allotment 😂😂😂
@@Feelgoodgardens I can just see you and Danny boarding around the raised beds😁.
Tour de garden centers......Hubby and I love doing that and we can make a day of it with lunch out somewhere.
Hi Robin 👋❤️
We had the day out with lunch at the first garden centre and a cuppa and cake at the second one. Can't wait for the next day out 👍😂
We have a garden magazine here that puts out a map off nurseries in Northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and parts of surrounding states. We plot out an adventure or 2 from the map, and try to hit places we've never been to. We probably do about 125 miles round trip. We've found some gems in the middle of no where. @@Feelgoodgardens
@@RobinGardens That sounds really great. How fabulous 😍❤️
@@RobinGardens really nice meeting you tonight Robin 🤗❤️ x
Yes I really enjoyed it. 🥰 Would love to stop by the plot for a cuppa with the gang if I lived a little closer🤣@@Feelgoodgardens
Fruit trees (including cherry) £5.99 at Home Bargains x
Wow April, that's cheap for fruit trees, thank you ❤️
My Mum said that... she paid £33 for a pack of three recently through the post.@@Feelgoodgardens
Linda how did the slug gone wool pellets work???
Hi Sherie 👋 🤗
I think they were ok, most of the plants look alright. I didn't have enough to cover all the flower bed so I put some egg shells there a couple of days ago to help. The hyacinths that were eaten have started to flower and look ok considering! 😂
The slugs are terrible this winter as I had my onions in my porch and they somehow got in and wiped out a dozen overnight.
I strarted crushing glass bottles into a mulch as the green glass looks attractive and should reduce the slugs a bit.
That's interesting about the glass. I was thinking of crushing shells. Let me know how you get on. Shame about your onions 😔
👍
Thanks for watching my allotment and garden centre vlog Locke 👍☺️
What is happening with the daffodil challenge
Hi Sherie ❤️I'll be reporting on my daffodils in a future video. Not the next one but maybe the one after so won't be long. Did you do the pink daffodil challenge?
Remind me are you doing the sunflower challenge? 🌻 I've been away for the weekend so looking forward to seeing if they've germinated when I'm next at the allotment. 👍😁
Could i be rude and ask which was the first garden centre you were at? I am in South Wales like you and on the hunt for some lovely Dahlia tubers and it looked like there was a fab selection where you were! Have only just found you guys on youtube and look forward to your future content x
Hi Nicola 👋 and thank you ❤️
I'm so pleased that you found us 🤗
The first garden centre was at Chepstow and the next one in Monmouth. We had the day out with lunch at the Chepstow garden centre and a cuppa and cake at the Monmouth garden centre. Can't wait for the next day out 👍😂
I don't think the way you applied the slug gone will work, I think if you read the instructions you need to form a mat around each plant rather than just sprinkle them around
You're right but only bought a small packet thinking it would be enough for the flowers on the allotment but it wasn't. I need to do a proper job around the flowers next time. Thanks for your advice and for watching 👍😍
Which garden centre was the one with the birdbath please Linda ?
It was Chepstow Garden Centre Susie
