"Just one more cast…". Yes! A true fisherwoman! ❤️🎣❤ My husband and I loved to fish the Eastern Sierras in California every summer through fall. Our two sons continue the family camping/fishing tradition with their own families. Though my husband passed away in 2022, I continue to visit the Sierras with invitations from my sons. Very, very thankful!
that sounds much more comfortable than our little inflatable Karen- I too love listening to the birds, especially when all else is quiet. One of life's great joys.
As always, you given as a peaceful and beautiful video. Hooray, you finally got your fish on camera! How exciting. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Hello Bob! Good to see you 😀
Good fishing lady! Your 4fish in your pan looked delicious. I was wondering what you are with your tasty fish. Bob was looking like he was enjoying his outing too. There is nothing like a camping trip. See you next time.
thanks Janet. Bob did have a good time. He's not crazy about fishing but he is happy for me to go and get some for a meal. You're right about camping. I love it all.
Wendy, I am curious, have you ever camped in Alberta? Or Year round camping? What would your advice be on the best tents, sleeping bags and maybe mattresses or floor pads be? If you don't want to answer it's ok but maybe you could do a future video? Thank you in advance. 😊
I have van camped in Alberta only. I did some winter camping for the first time this last year . I bought a teepee style hot tent from LiteOutdoors out of Lethbridge . I purchased a FireHiking titanium stove on Amazon. they make a good combo. I did a few videos using this equipment . There are many different bags and sleeping mats and tents out there. I do quite a lot of research on line- I don't use recommendations from a paid for site.ie Amazon. After comparing reports and assessing costs I go with the best I can afford which will suit my needs. Always consider time of year and the environment you are most likely to go in. Many folks have a collection of various types of equipment for different situations.Over the years I have collected a fair amount of gear myself. If you buy quality gear and take good care of it it lasts a long time. Some items are really important to buy the best you reasonably afford and tents and sleeping gear are right up there. They are your "house" and shelter when out in the elements. I am considering doing some videos about gear in the future. Your questions are welcome.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 Thank you so much for your detailed reply! I look very much forward to your future videos! We are about 30 minutes outside of Lethbridge and my husband and I have never ever heard of that business so that is a super piece of info to have!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
The fabric on ours is tough. I also am using quite small single hooks usually barbless. Reduces risk to the boat, me and the fish have a good chance of not getting hooked.
Loved this video - the peace and quiet and then the nature sounds of running water, birds, tree frogs, wet sand . All music to my ears :) The bugs didn’t seem to eat you alive? My sons in the PNW say the bugs are never bad out there like here in Ontario?
Hi Cathy- no the bugs are not bad at all. They can be at times but not like what I have seen from folks in Ontario. I do think that the island here is generally pretty good . However, up in the mountains here in the summer they can be a real menace. Glad you enjoyed the video- thank you.
Amazing views, and well done on catching your dinner. So funny when you said it makes it much easier to paddle in the wind when there are two of us (But I'm not paddling right now) Poor Bob has to do all the work Hehe. Great video again.👍👍
Oh my gosh you are such an inspiration. It is because of you that I started kayaking, with my husband, which is something that I never ever thought I would do. (I am scared of deep water) and you know what? I just love it! After a car accident at 25 left me with chronic pain (now 54), I can't do as much as I'd like but I do what I can. So thank you so much for your channel!!!! You are inspiring so many! sincerely from your neighbour in Alberta 🇨🇦
It is wonderful that you have found something you can do that you thought you'd never do. It is such a victory and I know it will inspire you to consider opening other doors. Who knows what wonders are waiting for you. Thanks so much for letting me know about your new love for Kayaking. Enjoy
Enjoyed this video so much! You are just the luckiest lady in the world to live the life you're living and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us! I feel wrong for saying I laughed when you bonked that fish in the head... 😂... Awesome paddling Bob! You're a good man! 😁
thanks Kathy- the bonking part is sure not the fun part but needs to be done quickly for the sake of the fish. I deliberated whether to show that or not but it is a fishing reality. Really appreciate your comments and yes, I agree. I do feel very fortunate for the life I can presently lead. I will pass your compliment on to Bob. really enjoy hearing from you.
what a beautiful area. the fishing looked like fun and i love the boat ty for taking us along. so relaxing . im getting excited for a camping trip of my own.
I always tell my husband one more cast, haha, always turns into 10 more cast. He's so patient with me. I love trout fishing. And, I enjoy going on adventures with you. Thanks for taking us along. I can't wait for your next one.
Yummy fresh trout!! I love your inflatable boat! Has it ever gotten a puncture? Are they repairable? How hard is it to inflate? So many questions, lol . Thanks for a beautiful, relaxing video. It's fun to see your enthusiasm for fishing.
So far no punctures. The fabric is really quite tough. They are repairable. As for inflation, it isn't hard but takes some time. We take turns pumping it up. An electric pump would be better for sure. thanks for watching and your continued interest and support. much appreciated.
Hello Anne- thankfully we don't have a lot of black flies here. Other bugs but not too many of those guys. enjoy your area, I understand Algonquin is amazing
"Just one more time!" Don't know how many times I've said that fishing through the years, so hearing you say it gave me a chuckle. Such a beautiful lake with an amazing camp site and the fish are definitely in there; they just weren't hungry. Your inflatable is super nice and looks like a good, stable ride with lots of room for two plus fishing gear too. Thanks for sharing Wendy.
The long awaited fishing video - yay!!! Well done for getting them on video 👍. I completely understand the sentiment, “just one more cast” - made me laugh to hear you say it! You got that right!
Hi Wendy! I stopped by to visit your channel. In her most recent video, you were mentioned in 'Hiking with Kathleen'. Blessings, and take care :)
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice! I laughed when you said you were just going to bob around. My sister and I would often take the life jackets into the lake and blob around. 😊
Just fun to get out in the boat sometimes, isnt it? I expect you and your sister felt the same way I do. Especially on a lovely day
Exactly right!😊
Love listening to the ravens and especially the loons. I used to catfish, that was fun. We had a 16ft boat with 4 comfortable back chairs 💺

very tasty indeed.
I think we all think that when fishing Wendy. Glad you got a few and got to enjoy them.

Thanks for the video. I love to trout fish also. I like your inflatable boat. Beautiful scenery too.
thank you very much. I am sure we could trade "fish stories" . Our little boat works well for us. It packs up well so we can take it in the van.
