The Phoenix: How Jag Bains Won Big Brother 25
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- Jag Bains, the most recent winner of Big Brother, is the topic of today. Jag's winning game is a bit of a roller coaster, as he was actually voted out during the season, but because of it, I think people make assumptions about his game and assume he was just a comp beast and nothing more. After going through the season though, I learned there was much more to Jag's game, and today I'm hopeful to share the light. This is the story of how Jag Bains won Big Brother 25.
Just like every year, I definitely need to shoutout @TaranArmstrong as without his daily live feed updates and deep dive on BB25, this video would have been a nightmare to complete, so thank you Taran.

I am so glad you brought up how Jag's late game "bad" gameplay moves were actually just him trying to represent his community in an honorable and positive light. Crazy how ppl can't see how much he wanted to make his community proud. He obviously wanted to win very badly but he wanted to be a positive Sikh role model even more. Props to him!
nah I dont agree when anything racial or political is involved. When we watch the show, we watch to get away from the worldly drama
This isnt a cartoon though. These are real people with real feelings and outside emotions.@thecamishere4344
@@thecamishere4344_...you watch BB to get away from drama?_
That’s the exact issue… the holier than thou attitude that led him to believe that he couldn’t be a positive representation of Sikhs without making an “honorable” choice and framing the choices of other people as dishonorable. It wasn’t very honorable of him to isolate Felicia.
Honestly both Matt and Jag represented their communities very well. The steamroll at the end made the game less interesting, but those two seem like really good people.
I've never seen one episode of big brother in my life and this is already the third video of the winners I'm watching today.
Same here, binge-watched Jun, Ian and now Jag today despite never having watched big brother.

Ok so like Jag absolutely sold by not evicting Matt and should have lost the final 2 because of it, but actually truly staying loyal to Matt was chad shit. Good gameplay? probably not. Cool as hell? Imo yes.
For real, imo Jag is the most chad player bb has ever seen (although his gameplay was wild) and I will not hear any dissent.
R750mil couldn't shake his chadness away
he wasnt a good player imo but he was a cool guy and deserved to win for the coolness factor alone
jag knew he was probably doing something wrong but wanted to put his community in a bright light since he is the first sikh to ever play big brother
jag wasnt just a sikh player, but a sick player as well
Honestly, Jag not being able to betray Matt in the final 4 is just so sweet. That's a good loyal person right there, I'm glad he won!
In some crazy world where I applied for and won Big Brother, the main thing I would look forward to after my season is the Ethanimale analysis.
You should probably know that the FCC doesn't consider it a game at all and the rules governing game shows don't apply to BB. The agency regards it in the same way they do WWE.

I have seen a few people talk about Jag like he was the villain of the season and didn’t deserve to win, but I think this video made me really appreciate him. He was a competition beast, he was representing his entire community, and he was the first player in the series to win after having been voted out in the same season.
Wdym?! Lol. He told everyone he loved them while telling others to vote them out. 😂 He only won b/c no one was threatened by someone who already was unanimously lost.
@AlwaysNerdyTV you make it sound like anyone else deserved to win? legit only Matt deserved to win besides Jag. cirie should have been out week 1 .. shouldn't have even been included in the season, such a waste of a good spot 😊
huh, i thought lying and betraying is the point of this game to begin with. Like Mafia, Werwolf or TTT. You arent bad for outplaying people in a game
at least how i understand it, all i know about Big Brother is from this video here
yeah that's not good enough to sway me to think he's even a decent winner. I don't hate him a a person, just his winning game
As far as his comp wins go I’ll give a quote from cirie “ I would give jags those same props if he wasn’t going against an airhead a dumbass and two grandmas”
Jag is the first correct winnerpick I’ve made in competitive reality TV. While he may not be the most satisfying winner imaginable from this season, it was a fun season with a winner who refused to give up no matter how immense the odds stacked against him were
As much as his win infuriates me, I can't deny Jag's comp prowess in the endgame was incredible. He relied on the flaws of modern Big Brother, but he won the game he was presented with.
he smoked Cirie and Felicia, lmao
@@abf9596why is it so funny?
nice way to put it
You know, when you think about it, the endgame comp prowess isn’t that impressive. As a wise Sarah Beth once said, “Like no, you were going against 5 (In Jag’s Case One, Since Two of the Elderly and Two Teammates were there and America was the only threat to him, in the final 6) people as opposed to 14.”
@@kirbster555 Jag targeted Cameron, his biggest comp competitor, and Blue, the last person who posed a comp threat to him outside of his allies, due to their skills. You can't discredit him for being against a weak comp field when he made it happen.
I just have to comment and say that I don’t even know what big brother is and I never even watch shows like these, but that impulsive decision to thoughtlessly click on the JUN video led me down a rabbit hole and I’ve been having so much fun binge watching your videos. Jag definitely made history, as much as we don't want to see it. He won hella comps and took advantage of his chance to get back in the game. I have to give Jag credit for this.
nice way to put it
Felishas toe crust made history. And no one will remember this snorefest of a season and the snorefest of the winner.
@@AlwaysNerdyTVwhy r u so mad at jag lol. he did make bb history by winning the most comps
@@lrosemary7884 when you look into the context of the comps he won and who he beat it's not as impressive, that's the thing. During the season I was never thinking "wow Jag is on a crazy comp run", you'd see what the comp was and it was like "Jag only loses if he blows it"
@@Jack-jx6ln same thing for a lot of people who won comps tho
Jag deserved to win it, I don't care what anybody says, his "mistakes" are just him being decent and staying loyal to his guy Matt, it's not a mistake if you willingly make a bad decision for the sake of loyalty, it's a personal choice. With his dominance in competition, I'd vote for him, sure his early game was a disaster, but after he was saved by Matt, he absolutely dominated and he stayed loyal till the end which I respect tremendously regardless of the religious and representational motivation(which makes it even better)
I know a lot of people aren't a fan of jag's game since he it was comp based and he was evicted but jag from the first half of the game is completely different than the one post eviction. He was running the decisions in the house while matt was maintaining the social aspect. Either way I was rooting for him because he was the first sikh winner in big brother and I would have never thought that would happen in my lifetime. Don't hate the player hate the game.
Jag has a great social game where Cirie tried so hard to turn Felicia and Blue against Jag and she couldn't., he also reeled Bowie away from Matt which is a high social play
"He was running the decisions in the house while matt was maintaining the social aspect" no he wasnt, everything (other than the cirie move) that jag did, was matts idea, and jag was told to do so by matt. I dont hate jag as a person, but he rlly isnt a good winner
@@creativename7230 Matt and Jag shared agency for most moves because of there strong connections to Blue, Bowie, Cameron, and Americory but Jag was the one that convinced Matt and Cam to not backdoor Cory while convincing Cameron to send Meme home. Lets be objective a terrible player let alone mediocre player runs half the game and it wasn't just comps since he had a hand in Cameron, Bowie and Matt's HOH's while essentially having the game won at final 3
He was literally about to get evicted immediately after he was evicted the week before & didn’t do anything to save himself & was content about going home & played soooooo passively up until the jury FINALLY started.
It’s ok to admit that he’s a bad player because he is, he’s an honest to God horrible player who relied on an unbelievable amount of luck to navigate the game
@@SURVIVORkid23 Jared ratted out he knew about the power to Jag to than Jag told Cirie not knowing Jared was her son. Jared than gets pissed at Jag and Cirie than wanted Jag gone and she was very influential. Yes he played that week but he was a bit screwed by the twist and at the end of the day he stayed and you can give him some credit for having people in his corner like Matt, Blue, Cory and America also Cirie saw Red realtionship with Cameron as more of a threat which wasn't the case when Jag had more social connections so he downplayed his threat level while having connections to vouch for him.
To conclude he was screwed by not knowing about the twist which put him in danger he didn't handle the adversity well but his low threat level and connections saved him.
I respect Jags honor to keep Matt for so long.
He took Matt to the end thinking he would lose to Matt. What respect? His idiocy?
he is so lucky matt fumbled the jury questions. I don't care about "morals" in the big brother house and he clearly had no problem toying with blue and bowie so i don't understand why he would take matt. Worst winner of US big brother@@maggie198333
@@maggie198333not really he knew he might lose but he also believed he could still win against Matt. The issue was that he knew he was guaranteed to win against Bowie Jane!
What honor does he have? He wanted to sleep deprive Felicia after he found out her brother passed away
@@maggie198333 his idiocy made a amazing thing, GREAT TELEVISION
I don't really understand why people are mad about his win. The new seasons of BB are just never going to have the vibe of the old seasons. Jag just dominated challenges and orchestrated the ending. He was a strong player. You don't have to love him but it's not undeserving for a record breaking winner to win... he seems like a nice and normal person too
the entire script of this video paints jag as a completely lucky contestant, always shifting credit from him.. hmm I wonder why
I didnt like Jag to begin with (not personally but competition wise, hes super likeable) but his end game was SO good and so respectable I cant help but love him and love his win.
He's incredibly competitive, respectable and loyal socially. He really did deserve his win and I cant think of a better way for someone to win on a comeback. Bro won my heart just like everyone else.
are u fkn kidding? this is a god awful take. he did NOT deserve it. Loyalty, respect do not deserve to be mentioned in big brother. It's a backstabbing game
@thecamishere4344 OK? Who said that? Sorry bro didn't know there was a rule book.
Being loyal to someone and still winning is respectable, especially because he did it in service of his religion and his people. If winning is all you care about you don't know why Jag did what he did and you'll never get it.
@@thecamishere4344you are dense, that’s all I have to say to you
I honestly agree with you
Rewatching this vid and taylors vid was hard to watch (due to their strategy/early comp games not working) but I always stayed because I just enjoy their personality so much! They both deserve the wins because not only they did their best with what they were given, but also they represented their community well
“Us 3, final 8.” The pact came true, and hilarious to me that the Unreliables were the swing votes that propelled Jag to a win. Amazing for what was basically a joke alliance. Those 3 were probably the 3 funnest part of the feeds this year. Along with Izzy.
I ADORE how honest his game play was. I think he goofed by asking Cirie about telling Jared . He should’ve gone straight to Matt, but his will to be straightforward and honest made him go to her. I respect the heck out of his sense of loyalty and trusting nature. He promised Matt he’d take him from the beginning, and he kept his word. His competition play was amazing, and “MY HANDS ARE COVERED IN YOUR BLOOD” and blowing them a kiss at the end will never not be iconic.
Hearing this video made me realize AGAIN how much Cirie prepared to win and the moves and alliances she made to put herself in a winning position
I actually think if she played without Jared (and the comps were more balanced) she would have won
@@oliviabeaube2451I 100% agree. Jared screwed her game over on more than one occasion. If she had been there alone and didn’t feel the need to align with and look after him, she would’ve made it way further
lol that first pronunciation of "sikh" made me think he said "first sick contestant" and i went "no way that no one's gotten a cold in that many seasons of this show" and then i looked down and also heard "sikh" pronounced again and went Oh
jag's game really changed for, i'm gonna say the better when he joined the mafia with matt and bowie jane!
bowie jane being clueless
@abbymazenta Lolololol that was helarious.😂❤
You’re MVP lmao.
Watching this made me remember how much I believed Cirie was in a great position to win this game if Jared weren't there. Her control over the house was ridiculous but Jared blew up her game on multiple occasions.
She doesn't really control the house if it were anyone BUT Jared though. Replacement-Jared isn't a mole for Cirie's side and helps that team eliminate the threats like Izzy early on. Cirie never gets in a very comfortable position.
i dont even watch big brother but i get way too excited for these vids
he won due to the flaws of big brother, but yet a winner after all, wish him nothing but happiness!
Even though he was evicted and came back, Jag’s win was WELL earned and MUCH deserved! I will always be a proponent and strong supporter of a winner that faces adversity and Jag faced the ULTIMATE adversity!!! Also, my guy was immune for almost the entire month of October!!
Jag's final speech was hands down the best part of the season. I was Team Matt going into the finale until he spoke
I really feel like the beginning of this season was heavily warped by the inclusion of Cirie and her having such a powerful advantage in having the secret relationship with Jared. I really can’t fault Jag for his early game struggles because he, and really everyone else, was at such an information disadvantage. The fact he survived so many weeks of being the target when he didn’t know what all was truly going on was impressive.
"Survive" might be a little misleading though, in any other season he would be eliminated pre-jury.
41:20 "i didn't want to keep running around to different feet" is already a crazy enough sentence, but "i realized it was easier to fill my helmet from feet that shoot vertically" are truly some words i never thought i'd hear in that order
This was supposedly my white noise during work but goddamn made me cry when he saved Matt
So true! I didn’t expect this to hit me so hard
I didnt watch the season, only this video, but why are people hating on Jag? If you dont like the twists hate the game not the player. The opportunities were given to him and he took them.
"His game changed, Im gonna say for the better" damn it Ethan
I've never realised how intricate big brother is until your videos
I don’t even watch big brother but like watching these videos. The fact that jag kept his promise to Matt to the very end even though he knew it could be his downfall made me love him and his character. This game can be really brutal with betrayal and backstabbing so you don’t see a lot of people doing that and risking 500k
They up the prize money to 750k now so yeah, Jag would be top 3 in terms of winner earnings from BB
You can say that he was the first winner to be evicted in the same season essentially 🤷🏽♂️, but you cannot deny that the competition wins and him noticing people who to take out at the right time won him this game. Him noticing Cirie’s game after she lied to him before and him aligning with Bowie Jane and Matt at the right time.
The scene where Cory and Jag are in the HoH room pitching a Me-Me vote to Cameron is an underratedly smooth and badass moment by Jag.
Cory makes his case, it falls on deaf ears since Cameron doesn’t want to give Cory what he wants, Jag says “he’s actually screwing himself with this move” and that’s all it takes to make Cameron change his mind.
"Zombie Week" ultimately catapulted Jag to being in power. Jag controlled everything from Final 10 (again) until Finale. Jag took advantage of the twists and was only vulnerable at the F6 DE. Jag isn't a great winner but his gameplay did improve where he deserved to win.
the entire script of this video paints jag as a completely lucky contestant, always shifting credit from him.. hmm I wonder why
That was an odd season and this is an appropriately fun video. Thank you for making it and extra thanks for covering another season. Wish you all the energy you need for another year with the community ❤
I think the fact the winner's journey was so chaotic suits the fact that this is a monumental season for BB. 25.
As someone who looks like Jag, bro I feel so REPRESENTED🥲
I know, truly, nothing about the Big Brother Lore, but i watch this not only for your astute social analysis and your amazing editing and storytelling. Love ur content, gonna watch so much more
he was my preseason pick and even through thick and thin i stuck by his side cause my gut just didnt see him leaving and im so glad my gut was right, hes a dope dude who just deserves this win
Jared talked sooooooo much literally ruined Cirie’s game
Anyways, as a viewer I was like “leave Jag alone!” 😂😂 by the end I was like “can anybody beat this man?” 😂
It has to be that Jag’s uncle is the producer of Big Brother or something, cuz that was wild.
I remember shortly after his win, there was a lot of coping about how Matt was the better of the two and got robbed but looking at it in retrospect yeah, Matt screwed himself over. Both fumbling his Jury Questions and prior to that letting Jag browbeat him into getting Cirie out.
You didn't touch on it, but Matt also allegedly tried to blame Jag for all of his backstabbing during the exit videos and when the jury started comparing notes, it made them sour on Matt. So he literally pulled a Paul.
I wish the Pressure Cooker HOH wasn’t the one they chose to use the Invincibility on
exactly cameron stood for all those hours to have jag js come back into the house
Yeah I imagine the producers just wanted to keep Jag in the house
This season was marred with twists that took away from exciting moments.
Pressure cooker resulted in no one leaving the house. Double eviction night didn't result in someone leaving the house
While Jag is a bottom-tier winner; this video has convinced me that he was the most deserving to win out of the final 3 by a MILE
The video was out for 10 minutes by the time u commented this how did the video convince u
He watched the video on 10X speed
I have him at 11 he made more moves than Xavier, Kaycee, Jackson and Taylor combined. I do think Matt played consistently better but Jag reeling in Bowie and taking out Cirie was impressive and was convincing to the jury

You are an INCREDIBLE narrator. I’ve admittedly gone from super fan to casual fan these last couple seasons but rewatching the seasons through your perspective really hypes it up. Appreciate your work.
I wanted to see America win the season, but she could never win anything after Premiere Night.
Matt and Jag dominated the comps after Cameron was evicted. Cory’s biggest mistake was not splitting them up during the first double eviction, but I understand why he went for Jared.
I believe Matt could have won if he highlighted his gameplay better like this:
- Win against Hisam on Premeire Night and then go under the radar immediately.
- Power of Invincibility to save Jag.
- Save Jag’s game again by exposing Jared’s lies the day Izzy gets evicted.
- Double Eviction Veto wins to seal Jared’s and America’s fate.
- Highlight social game and alliances (The Fugitives, The Mafia, Cirie).
- Sum it up by saying he did all this as a deaf person where whispering is necessary in talking game. There is no Jag the Comp Beast without Matt saving him twice in the first 50 days in the house.
Jag won because every twist benefited him. If this season was less twist heavy we would have a different winner.
Tis the will of the lord.
as a sikh i think he did so incredible and i respect him so much and im go glad he won. i was surprised and delighted that he took his role so seriously as a sikh on this show.
It’s crazy that 8 seconds in week 4 decided this game
Jag was the deserved winner, but I just didn’t enjoy how the game played out. I thought we were going to get an all out war house, but it just didn’t play out that way unfortunately.
strong disagree
That because the other side could not win an hoh to literally save their lives they couldn’t get power and they decide to take out red over jag and it was a bad move as it defected Cameron and bowie.

I am so excited for this! You're the best big brother channel and I've been excited for this for months it feels like
I have to point out that if I was in the Jury, I would've voted Jag BECAUSE of his phoenix story. Going from evicted to winner is so badass, and I would've also absolutely respected his choice to potentially sacrifice his game to bring Matt to the end. Why wouldn't I vote for a player who so brazenly defied the game's expectations?

Jags game was really messy, he really wasnt that amazing. But he did do it, credit where its due.
Even though Im not a Jag fan, he won. Gotta move on.
i think it was a smart move to keep matt & to throw the first comp. precedent has shown that juries see certain moves as unredeemable and i think if he blindsided & evicted matt (especially before final 3!!!) he might not have won. i feel like his moves + comp wins makes his resume pretty strong. they both played an amazing game but at the end of the day …
who brought who to final 3 & final 2?? matt is an amazing player but jag was the clear leader of the alliance

Jag historic win proves you can win even after being unanimously voted out in the long Pre Jury phase!
I don't know. I think bringing Matt was the right choice. It showed the jury of his peers that although he was the reason for their exit that he was a man of integrity and that he deserved it on how he played the game but didn't allow it to overshadow his morales. He went in not just to win but represent.
Okay I have a request. Could you do a video about the most strategical games for HOH and the Veto? The raindeer games has my mind racing about what the next Big Brother season could be like
these videos are great, but can you start doing a brief introduction for each contestant before the beginning of the video? some people (including myself) have never watched the show, and it can get confusing sometimes as we just don’t know who is in the game lol
Thefirst few rounds made me believe that jag is so bad at the game. But eventually he adapted like the goat that he is. That ending is actually cool
I agree themed entertainment is all encompassing. Was super nostalgic going back in time to the themed restaurants of Times Square my cool aunt used to take me to. Maybe that’s why I loved themed entertainment so much to this day.
Looking back, Jag game winning move was evicting Cory at F8
1. Outside of Jag's allies; I think Cory would have been the one that could of won an HOH in the endgame
2. Cory had the scheme to separate Bowie from Jatt; once Felicia ratted out she essentially ended every women's game due to how the competitions played out
I’m happy he won! He was funny and smart, a perfect Big Brother Contestant.

Bowie enters the chat at minute 37
After the final, Jag grabbed his skateboard and said: 'Now check out this Sikh kickflip.'
I legit CRIED watching this because seeing Jag be so true to himself was amazing
