Movies in Short is a channel dedicated to giving you story recaps of the newest and older movies🎬
To produce a single video it will take us at least 2 days with a couple of people working on it from our Team :
    - First we have to chose what movie or serie we will pick to do the recap
    - Then our writer begins to write the script for the recap which takes quite some time
    - Our narrator will give his voice-over for the recap explaining details and things you might have missed in the movie, while making it interesting for viewers
    - Once the material is ready, our editor begins to edit the recap and making it into a movie recap, adding Value to the overall video
    - When everything is finished we take one more look to see if its alright and then we upload it to our audience so they can enjoy the amazing Recap 🎥

Why does a basic survival kit not come with a loud audio marker like an air horn. Flare is the must. But horns can scare away animals, alert rescuers in bad weather conditions. Plus, the sound echoes for miles. Always carry flares AND a horn on any trip you go.

Jesus that was quite the survival movie, reminds me of Robert Redford's survival movie as well. The fact that these happen more often than people think just shows you how some people really have the utmost will to survive whatever the cost. It also helps that he knows what he's doing throughout the journey but still the mental fortitude you have to go through especially with another person you have to bring with you. The scene in this movie with the fire on the stove is amazing. It says so much with such a basic simple task. I've only been out in the wilderness for days and creature comforts like that you really really miss and don't realize till they are gone. I can only imagine how good it would feel to have a flame on you that you start instantly after being in the freezing cold for weeks or months, that has to be the best feeling ever.

  • @larrybrown8180

Mads portrays the most good, noble, pure, true hero in this epic of survival. He had accepted his solitude and stoically awaited his individual fate, but when the comatose woman was under his care, he had to act. This movie compresses, smashes, and wrings out emotions from the viewer. Roughly 40% of the scenes are life-and-death situations, yet Mads ' character remains resilient and resolute. An intense action movie without a villain, only unforgiving nature. The ending is unforgettable, tattooed on my memory.
Survival (not only his, but his will was driven by concern for hers) = triumph... This is a cinematic masterpiece, sere and lean, cutting directly to the bone, focused only on the next move and breath.

There are two things which are unrealistic:
    1) You will freeze to death inside alluminum box if it's -35 outside. It can protect you from wind, snow and predators, but unless you heat it somehow, airplane temperature = outside temperature. It's a matter of hours before you're freeze, not days.
    2) Rescue helicopter. It's not just random helicopter flying around watching bears. It took off from it's airbase with air controller monitoring every mile of it's flight in those harsh conditions. Before their landing attempt , pilot would have reported to air controller of his attempt. And of course, pilot would have reported they've found crashed airplane. So air controller knows exact gps coordinates of where crash site is ,and where their helicopter is about to land. After realizing helicopter is not responding, air controll would have sent second helicopter to that crash site and save their lives

This seems like a great movie, my only issues with some of the survival movies is that they simplify situations a lot, like yeah he took care of the girl and always kept her wrapped in the sleeping bag but what about her peeing and pooping ? Like how does one deal with that in these situations. I know its kind of a weird question but still makes you think that taking care of someone in such a situation isn't as easy as they show it sometimes.

Haven't seen the movie but from there I'll check it because from there it does look really good.
I've done some stuff like that, nowhere as extreme but enough to get some notion, and I guess what did strike home is the moment where he's trying to get up that pass.
You plan, you try hard, it doesn't work, you try harder... And it still doesn't work. And then before you really put yourself into trouble, you have to accept defeat, and go back to the thing you wanted to avoid in the first place (here, taking the long road) except on top of that you just have wasted time and resources, and all you can do is suck it up.
Well that's realistic and I like it.
Couple of non realistic elements like he's always walking in full gear, you'd want to remove that parka while exercising, or the whole girl plot, you would much sooner make the decision to abandon her because chances are high she won't make and dragging a person is so much work you make it likely neither will survive. You probably have much better chance for both to try to get out of there on your own and then send her rescue. But I guess than most of the movie won't happen.
I can accept the idea the people trying to rescue the helicopter wouldn't immediately appear. It's not clear if it was really a rescue helicopter and in place like this even a crashed helicopter might be difficult to find and equipment like satellite phones aren't as ubiquitous as you'd expect, at least they weren't a few years ago.
Anyway it does seem to get the tone, and many details, right.
