Phone companies are a pain in the ass. They make these phone near impossible to change out batteries just because they want people to buy new phones @ $250-$1300..... Screw'em! 👊😎👍
I purchased a battery replacement kit and thanks to your video I was able to replace the old with the new and now I have a working cell phone. I don't use it to make calls or texts, but I am using it as a sort of 'mini tablet". I can also use it as a camera to attach , with an adapter, to my spotting scope for shooting targets and recording the performance and where the points of impact are. Thanks again for making this video.
What an idiot. To have someone do the work for you then you'll pay through the nose for what you could do yourself in 30 minutes or less. Post a vid of you doing it & we'll see your speed & workmanship then judge you on it. That's fair I'd say. Here, he proves all he did & it works at the end.
I knew i was screwed when he brought out the heat gun. Would never trust the phone again, even if authorized people did the replacement. My phones get wet, every day. I got 3 years out of it, so no big loss. Live and learn.
OMG... I had no idea that you have to basically take the whole phone apart to just change the battery???!!! 🥺Apparently youu have to be a little bit of an engineer just to change a cellphone battery nowadays. 🧐 Great "How To Video".. Thanks for posting. 👍🙂
This is an outrage that the cover is glued and removing the battery for replacement will likely damage the phone. Another example of Big tec out of control.
Thanks for this video! What was the setting on that heat gun? What is the wattage of the heat gun on the setting that you used? I have trouble hearing the vocal comments; they sound muffled and rushed to me. Also, it would be very helpful to know if the back has a gasket or is it just held by glue, and if this procedure changes the phone's water resistance. I wonder if the adhesive needs to be replaced?
A good blow dryer will put out enough heat to loosen the adhesive, so use that or a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight, you don't need anything fancy. And doing this to a water resistant phone absolutely voids that feature out, even with new adhesive. And I'm pretty sure it's just glue, no gasket on the Stylo 4. I'm no expert, just what I've learned from fixing my own phones.
I know this is an old video, a nice tutorial too. Why did you have to take out the "blue" board. It looks like you could lift out the old battery with out taking it out. Is there a reason to remove it? Thanks. Again very good "how to".
I'm having same issue boost mobile I got it a Lil over avyea ago an I owe 3paymebts but my phone goes thru spurts ofv not charging today was 1st time N over a week my phone charged to 100% but last nite sat on charger all nite an thid morning dead so idk really if battery or where charger cable hook n2 phone I had to actually tape an pull cable to back of phone an I've tried lije 8 cables an I just got a wireless charger with the adapter an still it won't charge
Will a torch work? I don't have a heat gun. Maybe I'll try something else. I believe my battery needs replaced even only having this phone for 2 years. When I try and charge it, it will show the lightening bolt but the battery will drain. Only one cord will actually charge it if there's a circle around the lightening bolt. And then I have to hold it there sometimes because if I don't it will stop. I'd really like to just throw it at the wall but I'm not stupid! I don't want to not have a phone. Plus I'm not 6 lol. Ugh I just want my phone to work damnit. 🙄 Dec. 5...update..So I just replaced my battery I didn't have a heat gun or a blow dryer so it wasn't that easy getting the back cover off. It took 2 of us lol. But the charger port is loose so I'm going to have to take it apart again and try and squeeze around it with pliers. I'm begging to wonder if I bought a new battery for nothing. Oh well I guess. I think they just put that glue strip around the phone and glue the battery in so you can't get to it so easily cause they just want you to buy a whole new phone. The old battery also felt weird. Also my finger sensor isn't working now
Should not call it smart phone until they make it tool-less battery replacement. Phone designer should be shot as it takes much less effort to make it easy to replace the battery. This is like jacking up my engine block and discontent surrounding components to replace the last spark plug next to the firewall on my car. I'm afraid the next smart phone version could be when they wave solder the battery terminals and encapsulate all the internal components.
After replacing the battery the display touch screen doesn't work anymore. Where did I go wrong? The battery works perfect it's not draining fast at all. Where did I go wrong
@@gavrilovas1 Thank you for responding. Do you know which one is the LCD touch cable? There is 1 table? I tested and every time I unhook it. Which is right below the battery the screen turned off. BOYCOTT PHONES WITHOUT EASILY REMOVABLE BATTERIES.
most of the new phones have integrated battery but I agree with you I prefer to have a phone with easily removable battery.
