Sit down with my cup of tea and watch your video on ruining your rosebushes. You do a beautiful job on your garden. Always enjoy how beautiful you have it look.
Hello!!! I imagine, when spring arrives, the colours, the smell, the beauty of your roses!🌹🌹🌹🌹 I can't wait for spring! Your excellent work 👍👍 will bring the most beautiful results! I send you many many kisses!😘😘😘 God bless you!🌹🐝🏵️🐞🌺🦋
Hello Panagiota Skoylida it is so nice to see you again! Yes you are right the beautiful smells and colors will be so nice! God Bless you as well my sweet friend!
Hey there Kimmi! Thank you for your kind words. Honestly I hate wearing shoes gloves or anything that makes me feel confined. My husband always wants me to do my nails and make them pretty but after an hour I find myself popping them off. Your comment made me smile I hope you are having a beautiful Sunday. 🥰🥰🥰 Liz
Oh we get to see the gorgeous cars again! Thanks so much for this thorough tutorial on roses. I've never had very good luck with them, perhaps I'll give it another go. I see you are rocking those boots, lookin good Liz. :) Your little kitty cat was having a ball too, so cute.
Hello there Karen and thank you for your fun comment! My husband gets so excited when someone mentions his cars. Haha Im flattered you enjoyed the video and appreciate you stopping by to say hello! Yes little Lucky got in the action as well. Funny I didn’t even notice him until I was editing the video! Haha 🥰👍❤️😇
Getting Ready for Spring. Loving this series already. Always so much to do in the garden to prepare for a fabulous upcoming season. Thanks for reminding me to prune my rose bushes!
Awww you are so sweet Nikki and always so encouraging! And yes there is always so much to do in the garden. . . it never ends. hahaha But we love it right?!
Good morning Lasha and thank you for stopping by! Perfume delight is a beautiful rose!!! Most people don’t like growing roses but its the one thing that does real well for me! Appreciate your comment! Have a great day! 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍
Hi Liz, a good job well done. Love the little moat idea, shall use that in my garden. Spring is in the air. My bulbs are shooting up everywhere. Two birds were loving each other on the tree l can see from my Kitchen window. Isn't nature wonderful.
Hello Penelope thank you for stopping by! Glad you like the moat idea! It's a great way to keep your plants watered well in the hot summer. Awwwww so awesome that you can enjoy the birds from your kitchen window! It's those simple things in life that mean the most!
Hello Rosmery I am excited to hear you are getting into Gardening YAY!!!! and thank you for the suggestion!!! I will definitely keep that in mind next time I tend to my roses. In my opinion growing roses is pretty easy!!! They kind of just do their own thing and don't require much care. (why I love them) haha However they do bloom better with some fertilizer in Spring (probably right now) and then again in the summer/fall. I appreciate you for stopping by and if you ever have any questions about anything I am always here! Liz
Hi Liz, love the rose cleanup tips, especially the mote details. I've been out pulling the overgrown Black Eyed Susan vines climbing all over my scented rose bushes. Sticky work! I collected a few broken rose branches and I'm going to try to root them. They are from a very fragrant orange/rust rose bush. Fingers crossed.
Hi Barbara thank you for the compliment. I LOVE those black eyed Susan vines. But I didn't realize they are prickly! What color is yours? I know the most common is orange (that's my favorite one) but the yellow is pretty too! I will cross my fingers for a successful rose rooting as well! Let me know how that goes!!! - Liz
Love your explanations for why you do what you do while pruning roses... best I've heard and actually makes sense now so thank you! 🤔Surprised you dont use a leaf blower so you don't have to remove those pavers...
Wow Sheila thank you. . . I am so flattered by your compliment. You totally made my day knowing something I did or said helped someone else. Funny you mention a leaf blower. . . my hubby tells me the same thing. And you both are right!!! I should start using one!!! hahaha Thanks again for stopping by I appreciate you taking the time to chat with me. Liz
Hi Faye thank you for stopping by! I do mulch in mY areas of my garden but not the rose beds! Because I find myself raking under the roses alot I don’t like to put mulch around them. Maybe I should… not sure. Still learning myself.
@@GardenHappy your welcome. I do mulch my roses becsuse we got tons of snow.and colds.today were minus14 and this coming wereknd we go down to minus 22 so i like to mulch them for xtra protection. But honestly it looks neat and clean without mulch
Well I had no idea that you live in California. I am actually near Modesto California a little farther up north than you. But compared to the whole world we are practically neighbors.
Hello Jacyne thank you for your compliment! I cannot wait for the roses to bloom again. Yes the green car belongs to my husband. He is really into cars and has his own channel as well. Grizzs Garage We both keep very busy on our tiny little property. Hahaha Thanks again for stopping by I hope you’re having a beautiful day.
Oh right on I will tell him that. He always gets so excited when someone mentions seeing his cars. Haha My husband looks line ZZTop. m.youtube.com/@grizzsgarage4709
@@GardenHappy I just went to his channel looks like a great channel and checked out the green car, a work of art. I subscribed and think I will enjoy it.
Very instructive video re rose pruning. Thank you. Two things, though: you don’t put the prunings in the green waste so that it is composted? And your clippers were rusty, and there was no caution to clean them before pruning to prevent disease.
Hello Kurt and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! You are SO RIGHT! I never mentioned about putting the stems in green waste for composting. ( didnt think of that) Truth is our garbage service offers the two separate bins but when it’s time to dump, they put it all in the same truck is completely ridiculous in my city, so I guess you could say we don’t recycle where I live. And I dont like putting rose stems in my own compost because of the thorns. I guess I failed to mention anything about what to do with the stems after they are cut and you are also right about my pruners. They are very rusty. I am not sure how to clean them or remove the rust. I had those pruners for years and could not afford to buy nice, clean new ones. can you please tell me the best way to clean pruners? I would love to know. I am still learning myself so I appreciate constructional criticism like yours. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. ❤️👍🥰Liz
@@GardenHappyhi Liz - that’s so strange about your garbage company mixing the two. The best way I’ve found to remove rust from clippers or any garden tool, is to soak them overnight in a solution of vinegar and water 50-50 seems to work pretty well. If the rust is really bad, soaked it in pure vinegar. Usually the rust just comes right off the next day. Then I squirt a little WD-40 in the joints and wipe it off thoroughly. I usually clean the clippers with hydrogen peroxide. That kills any bacteria that might be transmitted to the rosebushes.again, thanks so much for your video! I really like your energy and I learned so much from you.
Thank you so much!! cleaning them with the vinegar is something I can do. That is so simple. I could have been doing it this whole time. Whenever my pruners got rusty I would eventually throw them away and buy new ones.Hahaha yeah I don’t understand what’s going on with my garbage company. When they pick up the garbage they pick up the recycling bin the very same time and it all goes into the same truck. Unless there’s two different compartments in the truck? but I don’t think that is the case. Thanks again for your reply and tips! I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos and comment! 🥰👍❤️Liz
A garden tour every Saturday would be so wonderful. But we both know how much time it takes to edit videos. If I could post a video every day I would I would love to see your garden every week.
Well, it was built very cheap, so no surprise it was only a dollar. It wasn’t worth more than $.50 if you want my opinion. Hahaha but perhaps your comment was being a little sarcastic that the dollar stores aren’t really a dollar anymore, most of them are $1.25 and more right? Hahaha 🌸👍🥰❤️Liz
So excited for Spring to arrive!!! I feel so much better now that this job is done!
