Keep sharing your knowledge of US practices in other countries that affect our economy,most of us do not realize these things are happening .We need more sharing.Hopefully some of us can make a change with our vote
@Blossomandbranch definitely what it takes to maintain/build healthy soil. I have a fair amount of clay so I have tilled to loosen it up but would much prefer a no till strategy.

Hey! I’ve planted 12 bare root roses this spring amd they are blooming profusely 😊I noticed you had garlic planted among your resets. Is there a video explaining the process and what the benefits are of this type of planting? Thanks for all your great information!
I had a barberry thorn in top of my joint. Didn't penetrate. Had to go to OSU and saw hand surgeon as the finger swelled like a sausage. Ultrasound and sliced open and flushed. Stitched after they got the tip of it out. They asked me several times if it was a rose thorn b/c of the fungal infection that can occur and can be lifelong issues. They did treat with antifungal also. Thanks for the great content!
Love seeing what perennials you are growing! I'm always looking for different perennials with different bloom times to add to my gardens. You are always informative and inspirational!
I find roses don't have a long vase life when I buy them at the store they are awful. 😒 I also have grown my own but again their vase life has never been very long. but this video may inspire me to try again. I LOVE your nerdy soil talk 🥰

I used to do wedding floristry and always loved the cabbagy like rose with grapes and artichokes so so pretty that was decades ago and going down to LA FLOWERMART it was a huge confrontation of the magnitude of all plants!!

My latest rose challenge has been rose weavels. Just as gross as they sound. I've been squishing them and have been disbudding my roses for now to try to beat them. Won't ever not grow them though!

Oh, darn! That rocky soil is so difficult to dig in! Pots would be a great option, the peachy one in the vase is roald dahl and is supposed to do quite well in containers!

A great big THANK YOU! I don't grow my At Last roses for cutting. I just want their beauty and fragrance in my landscape. I do deadhead them by just popping the heads off. I thought I was doing it wrong since I didn't follow the 5 leaf rule. I always have multiple blooms in a bunch, so my method saves the budding roses. They are a thorny rose, but I'm careful. Can you recommend a fragrant, less thorny climbing rose?

Do you have problems with Rose Chafers &/or Japanese Beetles in your area? I only have a few roses in my yard, but worry that a significant bed of them would get eaten terribly. I also wanted to say I like the devil’s advocate you present in your videos. Most talk about how wonderful gardening is, but your information is great and down to earth. You know what’s to expect when you tackle something. For example, when you plant more things you bring in more creatures which some may not be aware of. However, I notice that because of this they stay away from my seating area or picnics because they have their own little source of food 😂 where as my mom yard is pretty spar r and all the pollinators are attacking us because they are seeking out a food source.

This is just a guess, but I’d bet she likes to buy them bare root from other rose farms. With bare root the plants aren’t packed with questionable slow release fertilizers, etc like at the garden centers.
Any thoughts on using castile soap around roses? I recently grated a couple of bars to add around plants that moles or voles continuously bother. It's too soon to tell if it is actually working, but I am hopeful. Yesterday, I dissolved some in warm water and sprayed the fuzzy looking white insects that were ruining a couple of established roses. By doing this, am I possibly doing more harm than good?

Yup. The 5 stem leaves is a myth. I cut all the way down so I can get longer stems
