I just bought this watch yesterday (11 June 2024), was a bit shocked that the in box user manual basically only shows you how to set the time. No information on the alarm, timer, or stopwatch functions. Not to mention some hidden features like the flash alert and timer auto repeat. Great video, thanks!
Luv this video. I've had this G-shock since the 80's and only used the time and stop-watch functions and will probably continue to do so. A solid watch. One thing I noticed is that the durability of the outer housing has improved over the years.
Agree. The resin last longer than the earlier ones. This watch has been my daily beater for so many reasons. It's more than worth the price you pay for.

Yes. While you are setting the time in the Countdown timer, you can turn on/off auto repeat function by pressing the light button. An "Auto" indicator will appear.
You can also set your timer to auto repeat by pressing the light button while setting it. The "auto" will appear above the numbers and it will automatically repeat your timer
This would be my favorite watch if only the top left button was easier to press.... I bought this watch once and sent it back because of this... I am thinking of getting the GW-M5610U in the future.
It's actually recessed in purpose so it wont be pressed accidentally cause that is the adjust button. However, if yours is very difficult to pressed, there must be some issues on it.

Can you reset the countdown timer to what it was set to previously? For example: say I set it for 5 minutes. It ran for 4 and a half. I stopped it for whatever reason and wanted to reset it back to 5 automatically. Does it do that? Does it go back to 5 when the original time runs out? I don't like the ones that start counting back up or whatever. Thanks for the review!
Hi, yes you can reset it back to start whenever you want. Just press the "Start/Stop" button to stop the timer, then press the "adjust" button to reset to the starting countdown time. Once the countdown reaches zero, the alarm will sound. If the auto repeat function in on, it will reset to the starting countdown time and start the countdown again.
I have two questions with regard to the DW-5600E-1VQ: 1) How long does the battery last in general? 2) Does it have a vibrator that vibrates when the alarm plays?
yes it does. you can turn it on/off if you want. In the countdown timer mode, press the "Adjust" button once. Then press the "Light" button to turn the auto repeat on/off. An "Auto" indicator will appear.

EL stands for Electro-Luminescent which is the backlight of the watch. AEL is Auto Electro-luminescent. When it is on, the watch backlight will turn on when you tilt the watch toward your face (at a certain angle) to view the time without pressing the light button. To turn it on/off, you just have to press and hold the light button for about 3secs.
I have this same watch and it’s very nice but it’s left top button adjust is recessed, it’s little bit inside. Sometimes difficult to use it. I don’t know maybe it’s design issue
I read some article saying it's actually intentional. Because it's the adjust button. It's recessed a bit to prevent accidental press. Same like 6900 models. The adjust button is a bit recessed compare to other 3 buttons.

Did you mean the alarm beep or the button beep? If button beep, you cannot turn it off. However, you can remove the small spring that connects the module to the backplate where the speaker (which make the beep sound) is located.
hello got a problem on mine, the Numbers sometimes are fading and i need to hit the Watch gently so the screen becomes normal again … Do you know what's the matter ? I got my Watch for my 20TH birthday in 2018 so it's still Under warranty till october, so maybe i will take it back to the shop. Thanks in advance for your answer

Hi brother, thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately you can set only 1 of the 4 alarms. You cannot set all alarms at once.

Is the Adjust button hard to press for you? I have to use a paper clip and poke at the button, my finger can't do it. Do you have any tips?

I have had the watch for 3 years now. After changing the battery, I barely hear the beeping sound. Is there a fix for that?
Check if the spring is in contact with the backplate where the speaker is located.
My Adjust button is more recessed than yours. I need something to press on it to work. Can this be fixed?
Try to adjust the bezel.
Check if the watch is genuine Casio. There are fakes of these.

That striped line is not the alarm button, that is the hourly beep setting.
Which part are you talking about?
I think I know what you mean. Hourly beep setting is a "Bell" icon. The striped line, like what I've said in my video, is an Alarm On indicator.

Try to check the battery if it's properly in place or try to replace the battery itself.
This might be due to a weak battery. I had the same issue. Once I changed the battery, my watch started working normal.

There are a few Casios with a dd-mm switch around. The nearest similar to this watch is the GWB-5600 (the bluetooth version).
