International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem!

Mangroves in Galápagos are vital nurseries for sharks, fish, sea lions, marine iguanas, and rays. They store carbon, mitigate climate change, and protect coastlines. 🌿
On this International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, the Global Mangrove Alliance, of which the Charles Darwin Foundation is a member, releases “The State of the World’s Mangroves 2024,” co-authored by our senior marine ecologist, Nicolas Moity. 🐟
