My father had retinal detachment in both eyes and severe macular degeneration! Even with these opportunites he was still a top analytical chemist and worked for the military! He was so like Hemmer! I know he would have loved this character! Miss them both!
The more I think about Hemmer the more I am impressed with him ... and a bit terrified of.

Number One is so strong that Hemmer's arm was tore off while his leg is crushed! Lovely work from new women in Star Trek!
She’s genetically modified though
A normal woman wouldn't have been able to lift Hemmer like that. He is a semimuscular guy, but i imagine he would still be pretty heavy. #1 is strong because she was genetically modiefied and so It's acceptable.

I don't know what's worse-Star Trek fans endless critiques of every detail and nuance, or Star Trek fans complaining when
there is none available. And yes, I say this as I began watching Star Trek when it first aired, live long and prosper.
I've been watching most SciFi shows since the 60s. If you think this fandom is worse try the Doctor Who fandom, downright shameful, most of the bunch. Nothing can satisfy them

The proprietary nitpicking is such a buzz kill. So much hate for something they supposedly "love". As if TOS stands up to scrutiny (and I love it). But it's not like every episode was "City on the Edge..."
Too bad if you don't like it. That is a fan's prerogative to have a spirited discussion, and hold the material to task- seeing as Kurtzman and Goldman have completely destroyed 4 other attempts and gotten everything wrong in everything they've seen fit to infect.
If they would have even got HALF of the original information right, and not tried to rewrite 60 years worth of established quality work, they wouldn't be in the red right now..
Aside from that, what you call "endless critiques", we call a normal honest to goodness Science Fiction conversation that is standard fair for a fan, not even 5 years ago. With this first attempt, even if it's a drunken haze of REAL Star Trek Canon, you can see yourself fit to get over it.
THIS conversation is the one that has been missing in Star Trek, alongside the age old question- Who would win in a fight between Han Solo, and Cpt Kirk.
Even an old Grognard like myself... I can see the direction change, and can appreciate the attempt, even if it's not going to be applied to with puppies and rainbows.- The true right of every fan is to open up the throttle, and see what makes a Sci Fi show tick.

i have recently re watched the first season of tng and tried to rewatch voyager.the first season is laughably bad ,and voyager is just so dreadful i couldn't do it .so many start trek fans deluding themleves with there selective memory of pervious treks .the first three eps of SNW is the highest standard out of the gate star trek in its history .
So all of the sudden transporters can now beam through 1000's of miles of rock to a planets core? He must have used a volcano shaft to do it. Because in past Trek ypu could only beam so far below a planets surface without to much interference. Unless they shot a phaser beam down and put a hole in the crust first to get a signal strong enough. But a volcano shaft would probably be the best explanation o can think of.

He likely didn't care too much about getting a specific part of the Mantle, as opposed to a singular life form. Hemmer also didn't have to worry about the molten rock surviving the transportation process.

You know transporters aren't real, right? They can do whatever the writers want them to do.

Picard and Discovery are so garbage that a mediocre, sometimes good show like this stands out... that's what we're reduced to...

She's a "strong woman" in the same way that Spock is a "strong man". She's a genetically enhanced alien, so of course she's got super strength.

And then she just picks him up and carries him like he weighs nothing.
It is an fun series, BUT why is there a PHASER just lying on the Transporter console
The show isn't too bad so far, but Hemmer looks like a Andorain frankenstien . Star Trek Enterprise did the Aenar/Andorians 100% better.
Shran was a great character.

HA..sigh... but apart from some sign of toxic narrative here and there,
the show is a thousand times better then Discovery and Picard. And no
vulgarity toss all over the place and sex sex sex and all the tokens
sprinkled all over. Apoart from that.. at the 3rd episode so far, it has been good viewing.
Picard is better than STD this show is good but the technology looks more advanced than TNG DS9 Voyager put together.. i wish them luck with the show but iam on that HALO star trek is dead picard season 3 is its final song the truth hurts

Another CGI Star Trek shit. No plot (stolen from sunshine 2007), no story, no character development. SHE Trek again failed to deliver. Nonsensical bullshit where girls save the day. The number 2 lied on her application to the Star Fleet and still gets the job and of course she is forgiven cause she is "awesome". A doctor who is willing to sacrifice an entire crew just for his own benefit and a Captain who is incapable to help his crew. They cannot teleport their captain but they can teleport an entire core of a planet a few moments later hahahahaha. The new series is laughable.
lol they could not use the transporters where the storm was and it wants all of the planet .and it was number ones accusation that the dr "was willing to sacrifice an entire crew"it was not the drs opinion ,he sates he didnt know it was an accident . i could go on but f it go back to sleep you clown.
