Quality stove for sure. 👍👍 I recommend hearthstone I have the Mansfield model and nothing beats the consistency and being able to wake up and get a fire going easily without starting over.

We're getting the Equinox in one week. Can't wait to have it installed!! My parents had a wood stove years ago and my wife and I finally converted to wood this year due to the high price of fuel oil. It's a beautiful stove and am expecting a great product.

    Hello
Just wanted to post my experience with a Hearthstone stove specifically the Manchester 8360. Not even a month into the second winter using this stove and it quit radiating any significant heat. We got in touch with the retailer we purchased it from and they did send someone out to look at it after hounding them for a couple of weeks. Out of that experience it seems that all of the gaskets were shot. The front door, the ash drawer and the side door. That seemed odd to me so I contacted Hearthstone and posed this question to them since as I mentioned the stove wasn't even 2 years old yet. They told me that the average lifespan for the gaskets was 3-5 years, and then told me to burn some incense around the doors to check and to vacuum around the door, no comment on our experience of less than 2 years. Anyway a month later we finally got the gaskets replaced and well wouldn't you know still not working. So after 7 thousand dollars for an install I have got a nice decoration sitting on my floor. In my opinion, don't be like us, don't by a Hearthstone unless you are just looking for a decoration.

Actually, I made a mistake on the model name---it's the Heritage model. The Equinox would be far too large for our home. But, we're very excited and anxious to experience the soapstone qualities. The dealer told us that the soapstone will retain and distribute heat for hours after the fire goes out. We ordered the optional blower as well. I'll let you know how we like it once it's installed next Monday.

I'd like more discussion about what's going on. You could talk about the stove more.

Thank you for the kind words. We do take a lot of pride in our products and take care of our customers. Manchester features optional top or rear flue exit. If your setting allows for a rear flue exit the Cover Plate can be used to heat water, boil eggs etc... The other stove that offers this same feature is the HearthStone Heritage. Althought it does heat a smaller space.

Sorry for the late response! We started production on the new Manchester about a month ago and they have been on backorder for about a week. We suggest you look up the dealers near you using our dealer locator on our website and see if they have any Manchesters in stock. We apologize for the inconvenice and wish you the best of luck getting one! They are amazing stoves!

You could try talking a bit more and explain what is going on in the firebox, especially when you made adjustments. What's with all the creosote on the window, appears air wash sucks or you don't know how to use this stove.

Is this stove still on the market? Also wanted to ask if hearthstone made any other convection stoves? Preferably one size smaller. Thanks

I really like this stove. My only question is : is it possible to cook on it? (in case of a power outage, for example)

heating wood burning stove (approx 2500 sq feet), which is capable of doing some cooking in the case of a power outage. I am not talking about gourmet cooking, but definitely something like boiling water and frying eggs*.. Do you have any recommendation? Will Mansfield do this trick? Thank you

It is not possible to cook on it. The cast iron does get hot but you cannot cook on it. We do carry a cookstove, its caled Deva. You can find it on our website.

The Heritage is also a great looking and performing stove. Yes the properties of the soapstone allow it to retain and distribute heat long after the fire is out. It is very cool and works very well, especially when you start fires in the morning. Please feel free to share with us your experience, you can also find us on facebook to share your experience with the world.

I had a Mansfield for 15 years, heating 2200 SF in N. Idaho, mostly burning doug fir. Had zero issues with getting a hot fire, and no problems at all with the stove the entire time I owned it. I don't believe I ever even replaced a door gasket. Overnight burns were no problem, and I'm sure it would be better with seasoned hardwood. We're getting a Manchester for our new place in Tennessee.
