Hi jayda my mom died just under a month ago from cancer and I have not felt like crochet at all but maybe I might try this for our home and dad is visiting too. My mom might be looking down on me and she would be proud that I'm crocheting again merry Christmas xo
We're so sorry to hear about your mom. It's hard to get excited about anything happy or hobby-like when we're missing someone we love, but I agree with you, I'm sure she'd be proud to know that you were making things to cheer up your family :) Merry Christmas and peace be with you.
What a great idea! Peppermint pillows would make great gifts and snuggles for your head. Will be waiting and watching for your video and pattern on that Jayda.
You are so inspiring. Watching your videos as a novice crocheter truly has given me the confidence to try any new crochet pattern or stitch and even to create my own patterns when necessary. Thank you for all your work and your videos.
Thank you for your advice..and your time to answer me. I will let you know how it works out..of all the tons yarn I have..i don't have pink sparkly..lol. Thanks again.. Happy Holidays to you n your family.
Very very cut candy cane. I love you tutorials. Imbeenfollwer for several yrs. Just haven't been crocheting much this past yr. Due to my health. But i. Better so I'm ready to catch up on what I missed.
That is so cool. I’m going to make some is these for sure. Thank you Jayda n Mr in stitches for this awesome video. Just finished making 3 of your Christmas tree pillows. They turned out so cool.
Thank Heaven you and Mr. Stitches LOVE Math!!!! I hated math and am no good at it at all!! Really appreciate all that the two of you do for all of us. You are truly a blessing to all of us. For those of us with no one but our hubby's for family it is so great to be a part of your family. God Bless you BOTH. Hugs, A
THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! It is PERFECT!! I so enjoy your tutorials and live streams!! May you and Mr. InStitches have a healthy, happy blessed holidays season and a wonderful New Year!! Got to go have to make a peppermint candy cane pillow!!! Hugs, A
Jayda I would just like to take this opportunity to wish you and Mr InStitches and your family a very Happy Christmas and all the very best for the New Year. Thank you so much for all that you do for us. I so love your joy in your craft, it is totally infectious! Looking forward to lots more fun and exciting projects in 2019!
This is so funny. I'm a newer subscriber and have been binge-watching your videos, and just this morning I thought how nice it would be to have a candy cane pillow tutorial. Then I came on here, and there it is! You're either a mind reader or Santa Claus in disguise 😂 Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. I'll be making many of your projects over the months to come 💕
Such a great intro! This candy cane is so nice, thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year to you and Mr. InStitches! 🙏🎄☃️❄️😻🌊
Jayda, I love it. Just the perfect size. Great tutorial. Jayda, would you happen to have a pattern for a tabletop Christmas angel? I don't like any that I see on you tube. If you do, I would love to watch you make one. Thank you. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Have a Merry Merry Christmas Jayda & Mr. In Stitches!!! I know this candy cane wasn’t worked in the round but could you possibly do tutorials on an invisible join (so you can’t see the slip stitch) and one on changing color with no jog? Thanks so much for your wonderful teaching sometimes I watch just to hear how happy would always are!!!
Hi Jayda and Mr. InStitches! What a cute idea!! I wonder if my 3 yr old granddaughter would like this in her room... Or maybe next to the cookies and milk set out for Santa on Christmas Eve. I think it's a yes! I have red and white yarn.. RHSS #4 wt. so would have to double up. So many projects to make! I'm making her a couple of hats.. even though we live in FL.. We had like 3 to 4 days straight of very cool weather. Today is breezy but kinda balmy feeling. But she travels a lot for a 3 yr old so a couple of hats would be good. Anyway, thank you for this tutorial! Hope I have enough yarn and polyfil left! 😘😘
Hi Jamie! Merry Christmas :) Surprisingly, this little pillow doesn't take up much stuffing (the bulky yarn adds to the bulk!) Enjoy the balmy temperatures, Mr. InStitches and I are envious!!
I think, this also can be done in rounds: Just do circle-joins and keep working in the same direction instead of turning the work with turning chains. So you will see four equal looking rows in each stripe and you don´t need to sew a long seam and turn it inside out..
hi jayda i love this candy cane its perfect just what i was looking for. do you by any chance have or could you make a large snowman and santa to stand either side of a fireplace. ive looked everywhere for them. i would soooooo appreciate your help as its that time of year that we start making our christmas goodies.
Hi Sam! The largest stuffed Snowman pattern we have is here: ua-cam.com/video/sl1G6Pi2cnk/v-deo.html and we have a Santa Pillow here: ua-cam.com/video/am3kfoxkbVQ/v-deo.html Thank you for the suggestions!
Hi I’m trying to make an arm for a monster that is kind of hooked and I’ve been trying to figure out how to do it- I think this is the way! Can I double the pattern?
Hi Paula, you can find crochet hooks of all kinds in most stores that sell yarn. You can also order lots of different kinds of hooks over the internet. Amazon and Etsy both have sellers with really pretty crochet hooks :)
Hi Tammy, I have several of these large plastic needles mostly from kits I've picked up over the years: Knitting Loom kits come with them and I've seen just the plastic needles for sale in most places that sell yarn (Walmart, Michaels, even dollar stores).
Hi Sherrie, if you want to make a Peppermint Stick, so not a cane shape, you would just keep repeating the first 4 rows of the pattern over and over :)
Thank you! I've been looking for more projects to use my Bernat yarn with and this is perfect. :D I just noticed your crochet Lalaloopsy on the bottom shelf! How long has she been there? lol ;)
Jayda I have a huge question..i wish i could E-mail you.. I just got a request for a pink glittery hat with Barbie logo for a little 5 year old for Christmas. I would like your opinion if possible..i thought about using light pink yarn n sew on sequins. But as far as Barbie logo... I'm stumped..help!? Lol.
Hi Lisa, You could also try using sparkly or sequin yarn, I'm not sure what sort of yarn shops you have around you, but you might try looking for Bernat Satin Sparkle Yarn, Mandala Sparkle yarn, Mary Maxim Starlette Sparkle yarn, or Caron Simply Soft Party. They all have a nice sparkle running through them and aren't difficult to use. Patons Lace Sparkle has sequins in it and is a fine weight yarn, but pretty to work with too. I'm not terribly familiar with the Barbie logo (plus I think it changes from one decade to the next) but you might find it easier to make it out of felt and either fabric glue or sew it on to the hat afterwards :)
How to I learn to read and understand written patterns? Everything that I have learned about crocheting and knitting has been taught to me via youtube. Without this, I would be nowhere with either one. Can you suggest something?
Hi Melinda, absolutely! We have a whole pile of free patterns that we have written over on our website (on the Pattern Workshop page) most of which have tutorials to go along with them. These patterns range from short and very easy to larger and a little more indepth. You can print off the pattern and follow along with the tutorial and it will give you a much better idea of how patterns are laid out and how to follow them. Plus we write out pattern exactly they way I teach in our tutorials, and we include notes and tips in them too :) You'll find the link to our website in the description box of any of our tutorials! Happy New Year :)

Sweet! (No pun intended haha) 😉
* giggle * :)
I think, this also can be done in rounds:
Just do circle-joins and keep working in the same direction instead of turning the work with turning chains.
So you will see four equal looking rows in each stripe and you don´t need to sew a long seam and turn it inside out..
Hi! I actually tried that first, any time I can avoid seams I like to, but couldn't get the tight curve to work. This was much easier!
Do you have or could make a video on how to crochet a whole hoodie?
Hi! Thank you for the suggestion :)
Hi Jayda i was just eating a candy cane how did you know, Happy Christmas..Kimx😊
Hi Kim! Little known fact: I work for Santa ;) * giggle *
@@JaydaInStitches Wow! i know a Christmas Elf...🎄...giggle ...Take care Kim.......

Hi I’m trying to make an arm for a monster that is kind of hooked and I’ve been trying to figure out how to do it- I think this is the way! Can I double the pattern?
Hi Kimberly, you might need to try a small version to see if it will work before you double it, experimenting is always a good idea!
Hello where can I find crochet hooks at that really pretty
Hi Paula, you can find crochet hooks of all kinds in most stores that sell yarn. You can also order lots of different kinds of hooks over the internet. Amazon and Etsy both have sellers with really pretty crochet hooks :)
Did you order your sewing needle through Amazon? I wanted to order some through your site, if possible
Hi Tammy, I have several of these large plastic needles mostly from kits I've picked up over the years: Knitting Loom kits come with them and I've seen just the plastic needles for sale in most places that sell yarn (Walmart, Michaels, even dollar stores).
Can I make the candy the way you did the top and bottom without combing the middle. Like one big circle. I hope I make sense.
How long has she been there? lol ;)
Hi Ella! She's been around for a while now (she's just shy, so she stays hidden a lot lol)
@@JaydaInStitches Aww! :) She is so adorable, I just love her, and how vibrantly colorful she is! *quietly and patiently hopes for a Lala tutorial :)
Where do you buy your chunky weight yarn
Hi Christy, wherever I find it :) My local Walmart and Michaels both carry different kinds.
Can I use my yarn if I don't have Bucky yarn
Hi Monique, we cover yarn substitutes in the intro :)
