We have just moved from New Zealand to take up van life/full time travel. There are solutions to all you say. So far we are loving it. It’s not all roses and amazing views but it is always an adventure. Never regret the things you do, but you will always regret the things you don’t
Hi. We love that you have done this, that you were brave enough. “Never regret the things you do…but you will always regret the things you don’t” ❤️❤️never a true word said better Have the most fab day and hoppy 🚐 travels
We are retired so we have the time to stay on the road as long as we want. We have found that 6 weeks is the longest we can stand before we have had enough and want to go home. Once home It feels great to be able to stay still without the need to look for a park up. After a few weeks the desire to travel returns and its fun again. The second you step into full time it’s no longer a holiday so it will feel very different. Your home can be lost at any time due to problems on the road. How long before the country is covered in ULEZ or they introduce the real plan of pay per mile? Pretty quickly it could be as expensive as living in a house. You are working your socks off so at the moment when you get away its awesome. That excitement will fade quite quickly I fear. We are all different so you might be far more resilient than us but we realise we could never do the full time van life. All the best though with whatever you decide. 👍❤️
Hi both, This is fabulous advice, thank you for taking the time to send and it makes total sense. We have seen your lovely red van and travels, you have been to some epic places which is our plan. We wish you continued happy 🚐 travels. Hopefully bump into you ☀️
Brilliant once again. Many people are suffering with the same question in these rising cost of living times unfortunately there are no quick fixes. We retired, downsized and bought a van so can now do both, just wishing we did it a few years ago now. ❤
Hi, I think ultimately that is the best way isn’t it, smaller house and a cracking van with a toilet in it for me 😂 Happy travels, when are you next out in your 🚐?
Hi good afternoon from Geoff and Sam we have just come across your channel and already love you both and your content is absolutely fantastic and witty. I have worked all my life like yourself but now have a chronic health issues . I was fit and healthy like you both live your lives to the max live your dreams don't leave it too late like I did. I'm glad I have found your channel and can't wait to the next video go and seek adventure would be my advice don't be cash rich and time short. Take care Geoff and Sam.
Hi Geoff and Sam, Welcome to our little channel First thing is to wish you well and we are so very sorry you are unwell ☹️ I think your words have made a mark on me and I have never heard anything so true “seek adventure” We are both taking a little time off in next few weeks and heading into the unknown on an adventure. Something that we haven’t done before and will film it and add our humour to it 🤪🤣 Watch this space Wishing you both the best weekend
We lived in our motorhome full time for nearly 10 years, having no house of our own. So on retirement left and lived in van. Spain through winter and rest of continent in the summer. We wish we had found that life when we were younger but wouldn't have been able to afford it, without working. Also it isn't a holiday after a while, it is living. Eventually you need something static. Renting the house might be a better option, then it will be there in years to come. Be careful what you wish for. Good luck
Hi Andy & Claire, recently found / subscribed to your channel, the light hearted content and the way it’s put together, brilliant. Not really advice but just what’s happened with us recently. Had a camper for 4 years now and love it, we’re in our late 50’s ( both still working ) and same as you worked all our life never quite getting work / life balance right but doing the best we can with everything life throws at us. Last year after a 3 weeks trip in France came back home started work again then out of the blue I had a heart attack. This massively changed the way we now look at things, I’ve always thought of our home as just a place you stayed between work and going away, not appreciating it. When I came back from hospital it became my safe place, don’t know what I would have done without it. Over the last year or so we’ve known too many people who had been taken I’ll or died suddenly, most in there mid / late 60’s, my new motto is “ 70 is the new 90”. I would say try and do as much in life that makes you happy, money is not everything but you still need it, unfortunately. All I would say is keep a base of some kind, somewhere you can came back to when needed. Safe travels.
Hi John. Welcome to our little channel and we are delighted you enjoy out stuff More importantly we wish you good health and we think this comment is really poignant. We agree, we have to work but life is precious and must be enjoyed whilst possible Wishing you a fantastic week, supposed to be sunny this weekend so hope you will be travelling 🚐 ☀️
This one made me feel a bit emotional…. Nothing more precious than time. We are retired (early) fortunate enough to sell a business at the right moment…. Since my sister died, we have felt even stronger than we already did about making sure we make the most of it, because you just never know when your time is up. We have got out in our van as much as possible this year - we are currently going through a period of reflection on how we want to spend the next chapter. So excited to continue watching your journey. APT 🐾
Hi hi. We totally loved the area in this one as well. Fabulous! Delighted you retired at a good time for you both. I’m still waiting 🤣🤣 Enjoy your van as much as you can xxxx
Great to find this video. We absolutely love Barafundle Bay and the area when staying over in Tenby every year. That cafe is a little expensive but wow, those toasties are amazing. Glad you enjoyed this trip.
Don't give up the house, it might well be your security blanket in later life. Try and find a better work life balance. E.g is Andy tied to the house for his business or can it be done on the road? Do you really need 2 incomes? etc.etc. So many questions that only you can answer. What ever you do I wish you well and love the channel.
Know exactly how you feel with work, I’ve just stated a consolidated working week where I do my hours over 4 longer days, giving me Fridays off, so we can get away in the van more. Wales looks awesome, thanks for showing us this, it’s definitely on the list now 👍🏼
Hi Trevor, having Friday’s off is a fantastic idea. We love our van weekends and have a quite a few plans in the diary now. You must add Pembrokeshire to your list. My favourite so far 🏝️ it’s brilliant Have a good week
I moved to Pembrokeshire from Bristol 10 years ago. I was stuck in traffic for hours on end when my mates were at the beach. So made the move and never looked back. It's a fantastic place to live, quiet, friendly and a different pace of life which you once you accept starts to make a difference to your life. Grab your board and make the move
It often takes nature to show us that there are better things in life than working it away to buy things we hardly get the full benefit from. Quite a reflective journey for you on this trip. ❤
ST GOVANS HEAD CHAPEL is my favourite place, I love to sit on the rocks and relax for ages, if I'm stressed I go and sit and when I leave I'm much calmer. Such a beautiful place and so serene.
Hi Teresa, We loved how magical it felt there and totally get your point on being able to de stress. We sat a while and just stared out at the sea… and we just sat even longer and listened to the waves. Absolutely priceless moment ♥️ When you go back send us a picture. Have a great week.
Hi Andy and Claire, I have been following your channel for a few months now and this has to be the best video yet! A difficult decision to make ….house or camper-van, I don’t envy you having to make that decision. How about a compromise, downsize your house and buy a bigger camper van and you can have the best of both worlds. Whatever you do don’t give up your travels and making great videos.
Hi. We are so delighted you follow us and you enjoyed this one. We wanted to get a mixture of fun and beautiful scenery in it and think we just about cracked it. We want to change our lifestyle and really excited about the prospects of it. Have the most fabulous Sunday ☀️
I'd forgotten how beautiful Barafundle Bay was. Stayed at the Freshwater CAMC site a couple of times when our children were little. Hard decisions for you. We too want to retire and travel while we still can.
Hi there, My absolute favourite beach in the UK. It was quiet and just amazing. We are definitely going to head back with a picnic! We liked the fact you couldn’t drive to it and had to walk. Stunning it was. Have a fab weekend and I hope the ☀️ sones wherever you are
@@Stchristopherofatlantis I am in south of Sweden waiting for the ferry ride to Germany tomorrow. And on monday evening I will start my UK roundtrip from Harwich. Looking forward to that.
Wow this is most excellent. We nipped into Germany earlier this year on our European trip and we loved it (Some of our school German came back!!!) Have the most fab time, we might see you out and about Keep safe 🚐
It’s true that the grass always looks greener on the other side. But life is for living, so do what you want to do and have no regrets 😃👍🏻🚐 Safe travels 💙 Trev n Sue
Hi Trev and Sue, We agree and life is definitely for living, just subscribed tor your channel, you have some great content 😃 Safe travels back and hope to see you guys around 🚐
What a wonderful video, you really captured the feeling of the area, great seeing the places you get to, unfortunately we can’t access some places like that so it’s lovely to see your take on them. Oh and if it’s any consolation I’m not allowed a drone either.👍
Hi Graham, How are you? This made us smile Thank you, and then we howled with laughter about the drone!! I know one day Andy will come home with one… but as long as I don’t come home one day and there is a massive pond in the garden with slimy things in it 😂 😂 😂 😂 Enjoy your weekend
Really thought provoking video. You make an excellent point about as you get older you tend to value things differently and one of those things is time. That is the one thing we all spend and can never get back. If we spend our time unwisely, ultimately we only have ourselves to blame. Interested to see what happens next for you all. Especially Pablo. All the best Neil & Sarah
Hi Neil and Sarah, your advice is spot on and time is precious, we are starting to realise this. Pablo says he’s happy as long as the next van has a toilet 🚽 🚐 Have the most fab weekend ☀️
Brilliant video , best one yet. Tremendous scenery and interesting but fun history lesson thrown in as well . My late wife and I had jobs where we had to work around shifts so we had many conversations similar to yours . We eventually changed our jobs and work patterns which gave us more time to enjoy travelling together and that helped us greatly. You still need the security of a home ( base ) to come back to , as o long time travelling can take its toll , weather and money are two things to bear in mind . Hope you can work things out but be cautious. Take care 🚐👍
Hi Eric, we particularly enjoyed this one, with the amazing scenery and having a longer break together than we have been having it hit us a little. We will spend sometime now looking at options and ideas. Thankyou for watching us and commenting. We hope you have the absolutely best week ☀️
Just caught this video I have family near the town of Tenby and freshwater East is very close to Tenby, I live in France I had to give of work due to ill health. What I did I sold my big old house then brought 3 smaller houses and kept a UK address rented the other properties for some extra income, And travel around France, Been doing that for the past year now, I don't know how old the both of you are but your at a turning point now work for another 10 years and get stuck or travel now while your able to enjoy it,
We don't have a van, but we did do the thing of saying sod it and our mid fifties (older I know) left two busy jobs behind to come and live in France. Granted, its not Yorkshire, but its pretty smart. Two years later we haven't looked back, our only big reflection is that we should have done it earlier and I think that applies to most major life changes, waiting is often the right answer!
Morning, France is beautiful, we visited parts of it in our European trip and loved both Strasbourg and Champagne region. Life is short and all that and think that sometimes you need to grab things by the horns….. delighted you enjoy it 🇫🇷 Have a fabulous day, Au revoir
Hi guys just subscribed big decision to make I am a caravaner when we are away As at the moment in Norfolk we love it would love to live in The caravan full time but getting it to work for both of us good luck 🎉
Hi Jeff, Thank you so much for subscribing to our little channel. Norfolk is on our destination list as we haven’t been there yet in the van so any recommendations appreciated! Have the most fabulous travels, and we may see you on the road! 🚐
Hi, Thank you for your comment, we are delighted you think its our best. We truly loved that bit of the coast, so close to home and we got there in our little van Videos will keep coming, they are lined up ☀️ 🚐 😃
Pembrokeshire, My mum and step dad moved there from Nottingham a long tme a go. A lovely place and i enjoy exploring whilst visiting them. We live up in South Yorkshire and have just got a van in October, we've done some damp overnighters in the Peaks and are looking forward to the warmer months next year. We both work fulltime and would love to do more like yourselves, but full time work gives me around 24 precious working days off a year to plan anything from long weekends to a few weeks off... You are not on your own, I also yearn for more leisure days... Thank you for sharing your experience along with your great sense of humor. 👍
Hi James, We totally loved Pembrokeshire 😍 We hope you enjoy your Van. Summer van life in St Chris has been amazing and we can’t wait for even more adventures next year. Work just gets in the way 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching
Barafundle bay Pembrokeshire and tor bay the gower pernisola my 2 fav beaches spent so much time on these beaches with my kids rossili beach another fab beach
Hi there. Barafundle was the most amazing beach and we loved it. It was a jam packed weekend of exploring for us and we know we have much more to see and plan to go back. These suggestions are awesome. Thank you
I'd love to ditch my house and just travel in Viv-i-van but realistically, as a sufferer of mental health ( it was the main reason I got Viv in order to heal my mental health) I honestly dont know if I could mentally cope with living in a small van full time. I've enjoyed doing the very few trips I've done so far but for me, I've realised that full time isnt for me. What I'd love to do if I was financially able, would be to do a month at a time in the van and explore Wales again- when we had the motorhome and Mum was alive we were never out of wales- Scotland and Northumberland. My problem is I dont like solo vanning. I've met up with a few people on meetups organised by groups on Facebook and found I loved the interaction. I just dont see myself doing vanlife for an extended period on my own. However, like you said, life is too short. every second you live is a second you loose. Hopfully I'll be better mentally for next year and my attitude to longer life in the van might change. In the meantime, I just want to say I'm so happy I found your channel as I've loved every video. I find them inspiring. Thank you- Kenny
Hi there Kenny, How’s things? Thanks for watching our older videos. We particularly enjoyed Wales, esp that Pembrokeshire coastline, we hadn’t been before. The weather was good, the views spectacular and crowds were not too busy. It’s a difficult mix as we want to be out in nature more but have to work. I’ll get a few lottery tickets this weekend!!! 🚐
Hi 🙂 Loving your channel. Could you possibly downsize your house so that you still have a brick & mortar base to recharge as and when you need to - and safe haven in the event of unforeseen events? You could even get a small (one or two bed) property in an area popular for outdoors activities and do holiday lets for a lot of the year and then have the option to return for a few months (maybe in the depths of winter) to recharge? That would mitigate some of the inherent costs to owning a property but maintain the security of a brick and mortar base should you need it?
Hi. We are so happy to read you are enjoying our channel. We particularly enjoyed Pembrokeshire coastline, some of the sites we saw were incredible Thanks for your words. We are weighing up options 👍👍❤️
My family live on the Pembrokeshire coast... im so happy you both loved it as much as i do. ❤❤ Really hope you both find a solution for the work life balance.... its a tricky one isn't it.
Hi, sorry it's a late comment, but we have just returned from a 2 week break in the caravan. I have just retired early and Jo is in a job she doesn't like anymore. We are at a crossroads ourselves and would love to pack it all in as our best times are in the van. Our thoughts are just go for it if it makes you happy and life allows. Good luck in your future we will keep watching. Paul and Joanne 👍 😁
Hi Paul and Joanne, How was you break and where did you go? We weren’t sure if I would like van life but having done it since February we both love it. Our little van has got us all the way from Barnsley to Lake Como and we are so proud of that but we are ready for a bigger van and future proofing it. We are delighted you will keep watching and we hope to continue to make nice videos Happy 🚐 ing to you both ☀️
@Stchristopherofatlantis Hi, thanks for the nice reply, We had a little 2 week tour around Tewkesbury, Tenby, Cotswolds, and Chatsworth. Gave us a little taste of what it could be like touring about,we will keep our dream alive and continue to think for now. Good luck with a new van search if you rake the plunge, PS don't forget it needs a toilet 😊 P and J 👍
We recently went to Chatsworth and loved it (did you see the video, shameless plug - sorry!!!! Hehehee 😂) Cotswolds is also on our must see list so there is much for us to see, life is so exciting. Have a great week both
Thanks for such a fabulous look around Wales and Yorkshire that waterfall was awesome looks like you have to be pretty fit to do it but worth it on your situation whether to do van Life permanently is totally different its alright for a few months a year but you will get homesick either get a smaller place and a motor home for your travels both have a downside it will take a lot of discussion Try it for awhile in your van and test it out
Hi there. How are you? The waterfall in North Yorkshire was awesome… didn’t feel like we were in Yorkshire at all, I think we took the long route to it but it was worth it Have the best week 🚐
Hi Andy and Claire first time watching you guys for us, there are so many channels out there, I think we have Threads to thank for finding you 😍 loved the video and we toy with the idea all the time, we are slaves to work, what are we striving to achieve? We have a few friends that have gone full time, some not long ago so are watching with interest. Just subscribed 😊 safe travels, Mark and Debs xxx
Hi Mark and Debs, Yes yes Threads it is!!! How are you guys? Same as you, we work full time and just love time in the van.. I would like a bigger van (with a toilet!!) so we can wildcamp and go further afield. We are waging up our options 😀😀 Have the most fabulous weekend. We hope to see you around 🚐 🏝️ xxxxxx
G'day Andy and Claire.... found your channel by accident, but after watching the first vlog, clicked that subscribe button. My wife and I see so much of ourselves in you, and are going through the same thoughts as you...Sell the house and go full time.... Jillian and I also did the shift work thing, where a kiss in the doorway as you passed was all the time you had....... with the current cost of living, she's even wanting to make love to me again....she can't afford the batteries.... We have 2 daughters to consider as well. Current thinking is to downsize our current house, buy another in a different town (where our oldest daughter and son live) and move the 2 younger girls into that house. that way they have safety, security, and family support close by....then mum and I are in the wind. 6 months a year in Australia, then head to the UK and Europe for the summer over there. Loving your videos, keep loving each other and having fun...can see it the way you look at each other how you feel. looking forward to more fun along the way. Dennis and Jillian
Hi there Dennis and Jillian, Absolutely delighted you found us and welcome aboard! I think you get to a stage where you start to look at options for the future, we love van travelling and going to different places but always seem to do it in a rush so looking at options to slow travel and see more. We truly hope you manage to put your planning into reality. Keep watching and keep in touch with us…. Always wanted to go to Oz!! Hahaha 🇦🇺
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Guess what....you're welcome here whenever you get the opportunity to come out. we're in Tasmania, very much like the UK. We're planning another trip back there in 2025...maybe try for a catch up
I feel much the same. I’m running to stand still. I’m working just to keep the house going and pay my bills and I’m at an age where I’m sick of it now. I’ve no spare money for treats and feel that life is passing me by. I keep thinking about selling up and buying a motorhome and just going where the wind takes me. I was talking to my son about it the other week and he was all “You need to have a house, you need a base”. He thinks it’s a bad idea but I can’t get it out of my head. 🤔
Hi there, Happy Sunday. How are you? Running to a standstill is a great phrase. I guess only you know for sure what you will do but we are really thinking about all our options and what we really want to do. Take care, have as great week and keep thinking 🚐 🌞
Keep a permanent base, do not sell especially at the moment when house prices are falling. You could downsize to reduce overheads or rent your house out on short term rental. I think living in a small space puts a lot of pressure on a relationship too. Summat to think about. Whatever you do, I wish you the very best of luck. Your content is different and first class. Don't try to save costs by sacking the script writer & director (Pabbers) ❤
Hi Peter, Thanks for this and yes, being in a small space with Andy would be hard work!!! 😂 😂 😂 Glad you like it, we try to show places off and highlight the best bits but also add some humour. We can’t help the humour bit, it just comes out!! 😂 Love it - Pablo is also the costume designer and Location manager, hahahaha!! Have the best week. Keep watching 👀
Great film and message, are you seriously thinking of going full time ? we also follow 2 families the Rucks from Wales and the Crafter Crew both who have gone full-time Vanlife and appear to be having a great time, but how long could this lifestyle last ?
Hi Nigel, We are considering options but ill need a bigger van with a toilet in it 🚽 Andy could easily live the remote wild life but I need some basic luxuries 😂 😝
Meant to say, we have stayed at the Freshwater East Caravan & Motorhome site. It's a great site if you get the weather, we had 5 days out of 7 on the beach. Are you in Pembrokeshire on holiday, or is it just a flying visit.
Nice video. Where do you live, that you can get to Stackpole in a day? If you want to travel more. Sell your house, buy something a lot small. Keep a base. You can't live in a van for 30 years. I'm with you on that score. But at my age (I'm a lot older than you two), I have travelled a lot of the world but you always need a base. There is a website that links to aplace where you can get all your mail sent to. Not a PO Box.
Hello you! Thanks for watching our vids. We particularly loved Pembrokeshire, it was very pretty and totally lush We now agree a base is important, we are checking out options Have a great evening
Hi there. This sounds amazing. We are truly delighted you are happy after making the move. We are currently looking at options and plans Thank you for watching us
@@janecox4173 oh my where did you find residential static in Pembrokeshire? I've lived here my whole life and have struggled to find that it's all bloody holiday sites 😩
@@alanarama no restrictions. Land rent 108 pound per month and can only go up by 50p per week a year. Yes, house prices in this area expensive. Solva beautiful, st davids, newgale.
Work life balance is what prevents us from getting away all the time, that and 🏠🐈 plus not enough holidays in annual UK year. You both appeared to have come some way since these early days before St Christopher mkII
The original StChris was Andy’s baby but quite frankly uncomfortable with no loo…. ! Have you seen the episode where Andy cuts the bed down in it to make Pablo more comfortable 🤣🤣🤣
Stop it, I am crying laughing just at the thought of watching it. Going through your whole back catalogue and you are equally as funny as Andy, Claire. Just had to stop to time stamp this comment 23:11 and 25:09 Sorry, it’s just your combined humour is prefect and plays off one another so well 😂❤
We've got a cheap residential chalet in Lincolnshire , we pay ground rent and poll tax but it cheap to run , it's a base , but we have the freedom to do and go wherever we want , we have a residence , we have a doctor and a postal address .
Morning guys, watched this one in bed in our Moho and loved it, being in bed that is 🤣! Think Ernie won the funniest one this week, but tbh you are both great to watch. Eric, hope you had a bag for that pabbers parcel this week! That toastie that Andy had looked awful, made by someone with an axe! You need a ridge monkey, do your own toasties, sausages etc, cafes rip off now. Living full time in a Moho? Only you can answer that but doubt me and swmbo could do it, 3 months skiing is about most we’d do. Maybe rent your house out for 6 months see how it works, sometimes dreams don’t match reality but good luck with whatever you decide. Over 50 comments this week (mines a book 🤣) well done guys ❤
Morning you, how has your week been? Ernie’s back and sack was soooo funny, we laughed for ages! I was on high poo alert so we weren’t caught out this week 😳💩 Now, great minds think alike and we have invested in a Ridgemonkey, watch this space for its debut. Ham and cheese toasty a la carte with mini cheddars are the current speciality 🥪 We have never been skiing but it is something we might be interested in. I once went to the dry slope in Sheffield but struggled and spent most of my time sledging ⛷️ Have the most fabulous weekend in your Moho and may the sun shine on your both
@@Stchristopherofatlantis week has been good thanks, new awning up and just in time for non stop rain ☔️, we’ll it is the lakes for a reason! Got into skiing late on and wish we’d done it sooner, it’s such a great sport and you see some wonderful places. My weekend will be spent helping campers, motorhomers and caravaners make wonderful memories 🤣 take care guys
We considered "van life" many years ago when touring was new and exciting, and although it would have been a great adventure we know a transient lifestyle isn't for us and it would have ground us down with work becoming our solace and the novelty of getting away from it all nonexistent. Last year we decided on a lifestyle change re work. The other half opted for increased daily hours to allow for a rolling 6 days off, and I went the opposite way and took part-time 🕺😂. So far, it's worked out... dreadfully 🤦🏻♂️😂. Our days off never match, and my pay is well below expectations 😂😂. There is a solution out there; It's called early retirement... or a lottery win, and I know which I've got more chance of 🤣🫡 Looking forward to your next adventure. And what is it with Barnsley folk and ponds. My parents have 2... not that I'm bragging 😏 😂
Hi there Steven, How has your week been? Have you been angry on the M1 with the lane hoggers 😂 It’s great that you have shuffled your lifestyle but of course the magic early retirement is the way forward 🚐 🌞 here’s hoping 🤞 Andy is desperate for a pond but its just going to get slimy things in it and it will be awful…. 😂 😂 thanks for watching 😆
@Stchristopherofatlantis Erm... maybe once or twice 🤣, but I'm on my part-time days off, so no M1 for me 🕺. Now, this is going to be in Andy's favour, I'm afraid, but as of yet, they've never had anything slimy. They do get Cranes stealing the fish, though 😬🤣. And the odd duck putting in an appearance now and again. They also had a Swan once, and everyone kept ignoring it, thinking someone had put a plastic one there as a joke. Until it moved 💩🤣. Enjoy your weekend 🥳
@Stchristopherofatlantis An actual Swan. It was just bobbing around on the water. Why not compromise? You have a toilet (although your basic needs should be met without negotiation 🤣), and he can have a pond. 👍
Sold my house 2019 bought a HYMER B 544 59k miles 10.5k and its been faultless spent a bit on it lithium battery 300w solar , this month stainless exhaust , injection pump timing adjusted runs fine now and 2 new tyres ..however no mortgage go where i want when i want and have a better lifestyle and save money now dont regret a thing
Im 59 my wife is 53 we are half way selling the house and buying a flat that my daughter and boyfriend will live in until they have something of there own, we will buy a campervan stop working and just travel around Europe and invest the money from the profit off the house. It may be swopping one problem to another but it beats working.
Good morning. This is a fantastic idea. We love it. What van will you buy? How exciting!! 🚐 🌎 ☀️ keep in touch with what you get up to and we will see you in your van
Both those vans are amazing. I like the Kingham style (not gangham style 😂😂) and Andy likes the big sunlight. Keep in touch with what you get. I can only dream of those. They are both fantastic 😁😁
Regarding an house, i would sell tomorrow and live in a van or buy a small holding with very little to pay out, my Mrs on the other hand is a big believer in having your own home as its an asset, my point of view is that once you have bought an house you are buying into forever debt - meaning gas electric council tax water etc, even when you eventually pay off your mortgage you still have all these expensive bills to pay, IMO having an house is a lifetime of debt, until your dead, i hate the thought of being a slave for the government, because that is where all your money ends up, in the hands of corrupt politicians
I think van life car life tent life is great in the outdoors breathing the smells of the english Bush. But our house asset is poss the investment that grows . Vans die the gov are culling them faster than the black plague. But I must say the real motivation should be because in 20 years you won t be able to afford the 150k electric van. So petrol vans well maintained give you the 10 year window for van life. But if you sell the bricks eventually you won't have a place to live unless that is you have fantastic private pensions. All the best with your quest and zest for adventure.
Having a home to return to each Sunday evening is what you need. The fact you get out every weekend on long or short jaunts is amazing, but you touch on the downsides in the video. Simple things like laundry, security, heat, running water etc will be missed. Plus if you sell the house and live in a van you will just be Gypo.s 🤣 Bet there's a plot for you at Smithies next to the council yard or down Darfield
Maybe you're having mid life crisis? Consider the following more left-field options...... take a 6 month/1 year break and rent your house out to pay for your travels...... sell everything buy a liveaboard boat........emigrate to Australia...... or ....... combine all 3..... rent your house out, hire a pedalo and pedal across the seas to Australia in a year. (If you think I'm joking...you're right, but search for 'Jason Lewis circumnavigation by pedal boat!!)
Mid life, are you speaking for Andy there ??? 😂 😂 😂 Just looked him up, wow. the first person to circumnavigate the globe by human power… also the first person to skate across America…. now that’s some mission. I was nearly finished walking up to the valley of Desolation… about 3 miles. I probably couldn’t skate to my local Lidl Hope the most fab weekend Chris
I think Covid stopping foreign holidays people have realised just what’s in their doorsteps. I have a can and try my best to get out the house. £1600 mortgage with ££££s spent yet I don’t want to be in it. Get out see what you can while you can. Sell up no it’s mine and my families retirement fund. Love life it’s all hardworking that gives you good things.
Hi. Thank you for watching and for your comment on this. We love exploring the UK, some awesome sites and beautiful locations to be had. We wish you happy travels 👍😀
I think we’d be tempted by full time van life if we didn’t have cats. While rewarding i don’t think i know any other yodelling circus spies! £17 for a £4 toastie🙃🙃
Hi there, We are being self sufficient this weekend and I am in charge of feeding us and cooking in the van. Good job Andy likes mini cheddars and wagon wheels 😂
Hello. Now I’m not sure how but that’s what my history teacher told me when I was about 14 years old and for some reason I have always remembered that!!!! 🤷♀️
“Never regret the things you do…but you will always regret the things you don’t” ❤️❤️never a true word said better
Have the most fab day and hoppy 🚐 travels
@@MyChannel-di2ho why the hell would want you come to UK, the economy is on its last legs, at least in new Zealand there's sunshine.
Hi both,
This is fabulous advice, thank you for taking the time to send and it makes total sense.
Hi, I think ultimately that is the best way isn’t it, smaller house and a cracking van with a toilet in it for me 😂
Happy travels, when are you next out in your 🚐?
Morning, you have each other that’s all that matters, I would give my house and all my money for my late wife back😢
Good morning to you, Fab to hear from you.
We totally agree, life is precious. Sending our most best wishes. Have you been out and about yet?
@Stchristopherofatlantis only been fishing once a week, my hip is giving me grief and can only manage a morning
Hi Geoff and Sam, Welcome to our little channel
First thing is to wish you well and we are so very sorry you are unwell ☹️
I think your words have made a mark on me and I have never heard anything so true “seek adventure”
We are both taking a little time off in next few weeks and heading into the unknown on an adventure. Something that we haven’t done before and will film it and add our humour to it 🤪🤣 Watch this space
Wishing you both the best weekend
We lived in our motorhome full time for nearly 10 years, having no house of our own. So on retirement left and lived in van. Spain through winter and rest of continent in the summer. We wish we had found that life when we were younger but wouldn't have been able to afford it, without working. Also it isn't a holiday after a while, it is living. Eventually you need something static. Renting the house might be a better option, then it will be there in years to come. Be careful what you wish for. Good luck
Hi there, That is a very good point that after a while it isn’t a holiday… 🚐 We hope you have a fab weekend and that the sun shines ☀️
Hi John. Welcome to our little channel and we are delighted you enjoy out stuff
More importantly we wish you good health and we think this comment is really poignant. We agree, we have to work but life is precious and must be enjoyed whilst possible
Wishing you a fantastic week, supposed to be sunny this weekend so hope you will be travelling 🚐 ☀️
I'm 69 totally agree, never know when you're going to the next dimension
This one made me feel a bit emotional….
Nothing more precious than time.
We are retired (early) fortunate enough to sell a business at the right moment…. Since my sister died, we have felt even stronger than we already did about making sure we make the most of it, because you just never know when your time is up.
We have got out in our van as much as possible this year - we are currently going through a period of reflection on how we want to spend the next chapter.
So excited to continue watching your journey.
APT 🐾
Hi hi. We totally loved the area in this one as well. Fabulous!
Delighted you retired at a good time for you both. I’m still waiting 🤣🤣
Enjoy your van as much as you can xxxx
You have an achievable dream. Do it. Don’t wait.
Hi. Don’t dream it. Do it 🚐
Great to find this video. We absolutely love Barafundle Bay and the area when staying over in Tenby every year.
That cafe is a little expensive but wow, those toasties are amazing. Glad you enjoyed this trip.
We can’t wait to return 👍
Don't give up the house, it might well be your security blanket in later life. Try and find a better work life balance. E.g is Andy tied to the house for his business or can it be done on the road? Do you really need 2 incomes? etc.etc.
So many questions that only you can answer. What ever you do I wish you well and love the channel.
Hi there, So happy you enjoy the channel.
We just love van life and exploring 🌎 Have a great weekend and lets hope for some sunshine ☀️
My favourite so far 🏝️ it’s brilliant
Have a good week
I moved to Pembrokeshire from Bristol 10 years ago. I was stuck in traffic for hours on end when my mates were at the beach. So made the move and never looked back. It's a fantastic place to live, quiet, friendly and a different pace of life which you once you accept starts to make a difference to your life. Grab your board and make the move
We love Pembrokeshire ❤️
It often takes nature to show us that there are better things in life than working it away to buy things we hardly get the full benefit from. Quite a reflective journey for you on this trip. ❤
Hi Nina. We loved this trip, Wales was so beautiful and we want to go back. Have a great Sunday x
ST GOVANS HEAD CHAPEL is my favourite place, I love to sit on the rocks and relax for ages, if I'm stressed I go and sit and when I leave I'm much calmer. Such a beautiful place and so serene.
Hi Teresa,
We loved how magical it felt there and totally get your point on being able to de stress.
Have a fab weekend and I hope the ☀️ sones wherever you are
I have thought on the possibility to sell my house and move into my campervan, but I found I am too pleased to have a home base.
Hi there, its something we are thinking about. 🤔
Have the most fab weekend, hope the sun comes out for you
@@Stchristopherofatlantis I am in south of Sweden waiting for the ferry ride to Germany tomorrow. And on monday evening I will start my UK roundtrip from Harwich. Looking forward to that.
Wow this is most excellent. We nipped into Germany earlier this year on our European trip and we loved it (Some of our school German came back!!!)
Have the most fab time, we might see you out and about
Keep safe 🚐
It’s true that the grass always looks greener on the other side. But life is for living, so do what you want to do and have no regrets 😃👍🏻🚐 Safe travels 💙 Trev n Sue
Hi Trev and Sue, We agree and life is definitely for living, just subscribed tor your channel, you have some great content 😃
Safe travels back and hope to see you guys around 🚐
What a wonderful video, you really captured the feeling of the area, great seeing the places you get to, unfortunately we can’t access some places like that so it’s lovely to see your take on them. Oh and if it’s any consolation I’m not allowed a drone either.👍
Hi Graham, How are you?
This made us smile Thank you, and then we howled with laughter about the drone!! I know one day Andy will come home with one… but as long as I don’t come home one day and there is a massive pond in the garden with slimy things in it 😂 😂 😂 😂
Enjoy your weekend
Where full time in are van and never thought about a house a house means nothing just 4 walls your stuck get out live your live and smash live ❤❤❤❤
Hi Groovy travels (love the name) So are you doing it full time? Do you love it? Do you drive about? So exciting! 🚐
Keep groovy ❤️
@@Stchristopherofatlantis we drive all the time and you learn a lot when on the road where to get free water and all that
@@Stchristopherofatlantis what are videos

Really thought provoking video. You make an excellent point about as you get older you tend to value things differently and one of those things is time. That is the one thing we all spend and can never get back. If we spend our time unwisely, ultimately we only have ourselves to blame.
Interested to see what happens next for you all. Especially Pablo.
All the best
Neil & Sarah
Hi Neil and Sarah, your advice is spot on and time is precious, we are starting to realise this.
Pablo says he’s happy as long as the next van has a toilet 🚽 🚐
Have the most fab weekend ☀️
What I did I sold my big old house then brought 3 smaller houses and kept a UK address rented the other properties for some extra income, And travel around France, Been doing that for the past year now, I don't know how old the both of you are but your at a turning point now work for another 10 years and get stuck or travel now while your able to enjoy it,
We totally loved this area, absolutely beautiful. Thanks for this advice. We send you our best wishes
Beautiful scenery, I want to go now 😊.
You two are so funny 😂 x
Hi, It was beautiful, we loved it 🏝️ can’t wait to go back
Been watching all your old videos and your cracking us up
Beautiful Pembrokeshire 🏴❤️
We don't have a van, but we did do the thing of saying sod it and our mid fifties (older I know) left two busy jobs behind to come and live in France. Granted, its not Yorkshire, but its pretty smart. Two years later we haven't looked back, our only big reflection is that we should have done it earlier and I think that applies to most major life changes, waiting is often the right answer!
Morning, France is beautiful, we visited parts of it in our European trip and loved both Strasbourg and Champagne region.
Life is short and all that and think that sometimes you need to grab things by the horns….. delighted you enjoy it 🇫🇷
Have a fabulous day, Au revoir
Once again the best double act on UA-cam, Thank you both
Was this meant for Little and Large - haaa ahaaaa
Very nice. You just convinced me on trip to Pembrokeshire 😀
Hi. 100% worth a visit, we loved Tenby
Hi guys just subscribed big decision to make I am a caravaner when we are away
As at the moment in Norfolk we love it would love to live in
The caravan full time but getting it to work for both of us good luck 🎉
Hi Jeff, Thank you so much for subscribing to our little channel.
Norfolk is on our destination list as we haven’t been there yet in the van so any recommendations appreciated!
Have the most fabulous travels, and we may see you on the road! 🚐
Went to Cromer today lovely place put it on your list when you go 👌
Consider it added ☑️
Best vlog yet ......do what feels right now. Keep them coming
Hi, Thank you for your comment, we are delighted you think its our best. We truly loved that bit of the coast, so close to home and we got there in our little van
Videos will keep coming, they are lined up ☀️ 🚐 😃
Pembrokeshire, My mum and step dad moved there from Nottingham a long tme a go.
Hi James, We totally loved Pembrokeshire 😍
We hope you enjoy your Van. Summer van life in St Chris has been amazing and we can’t wait for even more adventures next year. Work just gets in the way 🤣🤣
Thanks for watching
@@Stchristopherofatlantis me too
Hi 🙂 Loving your channel.
We particularly enjoyed Pembrokeshire coastline, some of the sites we saw were incredible
Thanks for your words. We are weighing up options 👍👍❤️

Hi. Glad you enjoyed it. We thoroughly enjoyed Pembrokeshire. Can’t wait to return.
Thanks very much for watching
We are delighted you will keep watching and we hope to continue to make nice videos
Happy 🚐 ing to you both ☀️
@Stchristopherofatlantis
Hi, thanks for the nice reply,
We had a little 2 week tour around Tewkesbury, Tenby, Cotswolds, and Chatsworth.
Gave us a little taste of what it could be like touring about,we will keep our dream alive and continue to think for now.
Good luck with a new van search if you rake the plunge, PS don't forget it needs a toilet 😊
P and J 👍
We recently went to Chatsworth and loved it (did you see the video, shameless plug - sorry!!!! Hehehee 😂)
Cotswolds is also on our must see list so there is much for us to see, life is so exciting.
Have a great week both
@Stchristopherofatlantis
Yes we did pity the tenner had been found lol.
Cotswolds defo it's nearly as nice as Yorkshire 😁
Same to you three.
Thanks for such a fabulous look around Wales and Yorkshire that waterfall was awesome looks like you have to be pretty fit to do it but worth it on your situation whether to do van Life permanently is totally different its alright for a few months a year but you will get homesick either get a smaller place and a motor home for your travels both have a downside it will take a lot of discussion
Try it for awhile in your van and test it out
Hi there. How are you?
The waterfall in North Yorkshire was awesome… didn’t feel like we were in Yorkshire at all, I think we took the long route to it but it was worth it
Have the best week 🚐
Go for it life is too short sell the house and enjoy what you’ve got left😁
Good morning Peter, how is your weekend?
Life is too short… I think that’s been the main message we have had back 😀
Hi Andy and Claire first time watching you guys for us, there are so many channels out there, I think we have Threads to thank for finding you 😍 loved the video and we toy with the idea all the time, we are slaves to work, what are we striving to achieve? We have a few friends that have gone full time, some not long ago so are watching with interest. Just subscribed 😊 safe travels, Mark and Debs xxx
Hi Mark and Debs, Yes yes Threads it is!!! How are you guys?
Same as you, we work full time and just love time in the van.. I would like a bigger van (with a toilet!!) so we can wildcamp and go further afield. We are waging up our options 😀😀
Have the most fabulous weekend.
We're planning another trip back there in 2025...maybe try for a catch up
Tasmania? Really? Wowsers
See you in 2025
I feel much the same.
Glad you like it, we try to show places off and highlight the best bits but also add some humour. We can’t help the humour bit, it just comes out!!
😂 Love it - Pablo is also the costume designer and Location manager, hahahaha!!
Have the best week. Keep watching 👀

Hi, Yes this is an older video before we had Dora to cause havoc 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great film and message, are you seriously thinking of going full time ? we also follow 2 families the Rucks from Wales and the Crafter Crew both who have gone full-time Vanlife and appear to be having a great time, but how long could this lifestyle last ?
Hi Nigel, We are considering options but ill need a bigger van with a toilet in it 🚽
Andy could easily live the remote wild life but I need some basic luxuries 😂 😝
Meant to say, we have stayed at the Freshwater East Caravan & Motorhome site. It's a great site if you get the weather, we had 5 days out of 7 on the beach. Are you in Pembrokeshire on holiday, or is it just a flying visit.
We went for a long weekend. The sun was out and we loved that coastline and will return for sure. 🏝️
Absolutely brilliant
Hello. You are watching our older stuff 😁😁thank you very much. It’s fab. Have a smashing day

Hi 👋 This sounds like a great idea. Thanks for watching and we wish you happy travels 👍☀️
I was on high poo alert so we weren’t caught out this week 😳💩
Now, great minds think alike and we have invested in a Ridgemonkey, watch this space for its debut. Ham and cheese toasty a la carte with mini cheddars are the current speciality 🥪
We have never been skiing but it is something we might be interested in.
Another mastervork by the comedy duo - going sack to crack 😂
Hey thanks, Andy’s eyes were watering 😂 😂 😂 Happy travels
We considered "van life" many years ago when touring was new and exciting, and although it would have been a great adventure we know a transient lifestyle isn't for us and it would have ground us down with work becoming our solace and the novelty of getting away from it all nonexistent.
Last year we decided on a lifestyle change re work. The other half opted for increased daily hours to allow for a rolling 6 days off, and I went the opposite way and took part-time 🕺😂. So far, it's worked out... dreadfully 🤦🏻♂️😂. Our days off never match, and my pay is well below expectations 😂😂. There is a solution out there; It's called early retirement... or a lottery win, and I know which I've got more chance of 🤣🫡
Looking forward to your next adventure. And what is it with Barnsley folk and ponds. My parents have 2... not that I'm bragging 😏 😂
Hi there Steven, How has your week been? Have you been angry on the M1 with the lane hoggers 😂 It’s great that you have shuffled your lifestyle but of course the magic early retirement is the way forward 🚐 🌞 here’s hoping 🤞
Andy is desperate for a pond but its just going to get slimy things in it and it will be awful….
Ps now Andy knows your parents have 2 ponds he is wanting a pond again 😂
Do you mean it was a real, actual swan?
@Stchristopherofatlantis An actual Swan. It was just bobbing around on the water. Why not compromise? You have a toilet (although your basic needs should be met without negotiation 🤣), and he can have a pond. 👍

Hi. This is amazing! I bet you don’t regret it?! 🚐☀️ We love what you have done.
We wish you many happy travels x
@@Stchristopherofatlantis hopefully next time you guys are up love to have a beer with you and meet pablo and dora
I don't think you're alone with these thoughts. That's an itch that won't go away right there; I know, I'm covered in plasters.
Morning, get yourself some dock leaves!! 😂 😂 😂 😂
We hope you have a great Friday 🚐
Im 59 my wife is 53 we are half way selling the house and buying a flat that my daughter and boyfriend will live in until they have something of there own, we will buy a campervan stop working and just travel around Europe and invest the money from the profit off the house. It may be swopping one problem to another but it beats working.
Good morning.
This is a fantastic idea. We love it. What van will you buy? How exciting!! 🚐 🌎 ☀️ keep in touch with what you get up to and we will see you in your van
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Hi not sure yet but we are looking at a Auto sleeper Kingham or a A Class Sunlight I67S - Adventure Edition
Both those vans are amazing. I like the Kingham style (not gangham style 😂😂) and Andy likes the big sunlight.
Keep in touch with what you get. I can only dream of those. They are both fantastic 😁😁
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Thanks
Regarding an house, i would sell tomorrow and live in a van or buy a small holding with very little to pay out, my Mrs on the other hand is a big believer in having your own home as its an asset, my point of view is that once you have bought an house you are buying into forever debt - meaning gas electric council tax water etc, even when you eventually pay off your mortgage you still have all these expensive bills to pay, IMO having an house is a lifetime of debt, until your dead, i hate the thought of being a slave for the government, because that is where all your money ends up, in the hands of corrupt politicians
Hi. Thanks for watching and sharing 👍👍👍
Hi. Really interested comment and absolutely something that is to be considered
Have a great weekend
Wouldn't want to walk around there in the fog
Hey, we agree…. We absolutely loved the Pembrokeshire coastline and the beaches were the best we have ever seen 🏝️
We hope you have a great week
Having a home to return to each Sunday evening is what you need. The fact you get out every weekend on long or short jaunts is amazing, but you touch on the downsides in the video. Simple things like laundry, security, heat, running water etc will be missed. Plus if you sell the house and live in a van you will just be Gypo.s 🤣 Bet there's a plot for you at Smithies next to the council yard or down Darfield
Morning. How are you? We are certainly lucky to get out each weekend that is very true.
Are you from Tarn?
Yes.. Live in Worsbourgh Village, not up common 🤣
Living in a van is great but what happens if you have mechanical issues
Hi. Good point! Eek
Thanks for watching our video
a bed of ripped ingredients😂, im catching up slowly. 😊
We loved this day out
Maybe you're having mid life crisis? Consider the following more left-field options...... take a 6 month/1 year break and rent your house out to pay for your travels...... sell everything buy a liveaboard boat........emigrate to Australia...... or ....... combine all 3..... rent your house out, hire a pedalo and pedal across the seas to Australia in a year. (If you think I'm joking...you're right, but search for 'Jason Lewis circumnavigation by pedal boat!!)
Mid life, are you speaking for Andy there ??? 😂 😂 😂
Just looked him up, wow. the first person to circumnavigate the globe by human power… also the first person to skate across America…. now that’s some mission. I was nearly finished walking up to the valley of Desolation… about 3 miles. I probably couldn’t skate to my local Lidl
Hope the most fab weekend Chris
All if you go full time buy a bigger van ❤❤
Hey groovy! I definitely 100 million % would need a bigger van with a toilet in it 🤣🤣 Have a super day
I think Covid stopping foreign holidays people have realised just what’s in their doorsteps.
Hi there,
We are being self sufficient this weekend and I am in charge of feeding us and cooking in the van. Good job Andy likes mini cheddars and wagon wheels 😂
@@Stchristopherofatlantis hello! Michelin star dining this weekend!! The music and video where particularly good this week 🎬
Just watching one of your videos in Pembrokeshire, just wondering how your teacher knew spam was the closest taste to human flesh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hello. Now I’m not sure how but that’s what my history teacher told me when I was about 14 years old and for some reason I have always remembered that!!!!
🤷♀️
House would be paid for weekends would be free
