Had an A frame since 1990. My canvas hit the floor because of it. Hubby bought me a real nice easel a week later. Love the drawer liner. The table top easel I have also SLIDES everywhere. Tray table. I have a thing for them. Never accursed to me to USE them. YOU ROCK ❤
#6 - Good chair/stool with wheels (vastly overlooked) #7 - Mirror for checking your work. #8 - Baby Wipes. (these are a must have for anyone working in oils. The easiest & tidiest way to clean oil brushes between colours.) #9 - Music/Headphones. #10 - Drink flask.
Lesson learned over non protected flooring. Oddly enough, when I bought a better light I was able to see ALL the paint droplets that I didn’t know were there, ”because I was super careful”!
Great suggestions! I forgot about protecting the floor and TV trays! Yes! just did a bunch of research on lighting here are my notes: Reccomended Lumens 1000-1400k Correlated Color Temprature (CCT) 5000-6500 (cool white light) 5,000k
We’re saving for a nice vacation so I’m definitely trying to focus on “shopping” the supplies I already have for the next few months. And Thanks for the list of recommendations. It’s validating that I already have most of these. 😊
I didn't realize what I was using for my tabletop easel was something sold for shelves. My parents used it for area rugs, they kept it around for ages later, and I thought, "Hey, this looks perfect for me!" And it has been. I stabled it as a complete cover for cardboard that's slightly larger than my easel's footprint, so now it has a "floor" behind it that I can put stuff and and move around without losing anything. Though cats see this and try to take my kneaded erasers and the like.

I'm building my own art studio and I'm so excited, right now... it's only a table and a chair

Love the tips! Very practical 💯
Great ideas!!!!
I have a lot of natural light coming in from the new windows that has been installed a year ago for my bedroom/studio.
Floor/carpet protection…Ya that would’ve been a great idea! D’OH! 🫣
