Thank you so much for thinking out loud! I’ve learned so many great tips from your demonstration, even though I had a home economics teacher who may have been the American version of yours! I just needed a simple soft bunny to put in my wooden bunny baskets I make, when it’s to be given to a baby for Easter, but I’ve gained so much more knowledge and had fun at the same time. Looking forward to watching more videos by you.
Thank you so much for the tutorial and the free patterns. Your tips are so helpful. Making the face always worries me, it’s so important to give the toy a cute expression, and to make it symmetrical. I think I can do this one! Putting it on a piece of felt is such a good idea.
Yes, there's nothing worse than a 'scary' face on a toy. Can't remember if I mentioned it in the demo but a trick I learnt was to turn it upside down to check the symmetry, c x
Love your videos for the stuffed bunny. I’m going to be a Nan of twins so I’m looking forward to making these. I’m a little confused about the invisible stitch to use to close the gap after stuffing. Can you show it in more detail please? It would be helpful if you could do a close up of one stitch at a time . Thanks
Sorry, we can't change the video now but in words, I usually fold in 5mm on the raw edge (and lightly glue it) then run a whip stitch over the edges, making sure the bit on the top is tiny and perpendicular to the edges, and the bit that's not seen is longer and on the diagonal. Does this make sense? c x
Believe me, your not boring. I'm watching this to learn how to create better faces. I'm terrible, and not sure if it's my eyes or hand eye coordination as to why I can't do a clean line.
@@TheCraftsChannel I just finished making a pin cushion kitty, and after I thought I was completely done, and everything went really good, I noticed I forgot to do the whiskers amd eye lashes. Ugh!! I should have done them before I sewed the 2 halves together. I did the mouth, and then went to bed. So in the morning I went straight to sewing it together. Now I have to do the whiskers. I dont have a steady hand to either draw them on, or paint them. So i need to go back in and embroider them somehow without leaving knots on the outside.
@@ursulagreen8374 I feel your pain! Best way to do it is pass an unknotted thread through the back of the head to where you want to start, and then do a tiny stitch to lock the thread, then sew your whiskers, do another tiny lock stitch and pass the thread back through the back of the head before snipping off. You could even make the tiny lock stitches part of the face by making several of them like freckles, c x
@@TheCraftsChannel I've thought of the no knot technique, also enlarging the whole and popping the knot through. The and part is the face. It's on a felt circle heat n bonded onto the fabric. It's hard to go through that when it's on. It's a sewable one, it's just more difficult. But I will try, if I don't like it, I will take it off, and leave it without. It's just gonna take more patience then anything. I just don't think I'm in a patience mood. Haha thanks for your ideas and support. My mom taught us how to embroider as kids on plow cases to keep up busy during the summer, I've don't a little since, do I need to refresh my brain. It's been a LONG time.
Well I made it work. I pulled the knot into the stuffing. Then the next one I made omg, I did the face perfectly, so excited it looked good. So I sewed the front and back together, and I realized I didn't do a blanket stitch around the face to help hold it. Omg, so luckily I hadn't stuffed this one yet. The face is a circle heat n bonded onto the fabric. I managed to do the blanket stitch by hand. I could have use my machine and done it faster. I think it need to make a check off list in order, So I don't miss any steps. Am I getting alzheimers already! Haha
I was shown a very helpful tip for threading a needle ........fold thread around needle, forming tiny loop, hold tight with finger and thumb , pull off the end of needle, and push tiny loop through eye. I have been doing this for 70 years. Also works with wool.
I think it was a Stabilo Softcolor, but any high pigment colouring pencil should work. you need a fairly high pigment one so you don't have to press so hard and risk distorting the fabric, c x
Really cute toy, I’m going to make two for my grandchildren for Easter!!
So beautiful sharing 👍🌹💐 .
Thanks for your nice sharing 👍🌹💐

Thanks Andi, I suspect home ec teachers were very possessive of their equipment! c x
Thank you so much for this cute little pattern and face stitching. I have a new granddaughter and these will be so cute for her. Thanks again. ❤
Ah, congratulations! Glad you like them, c x

Great tutorial. Love your style!
Not boring 😊 Great vlog, thank you 💯👌

Hermoso! gracias🐰

I struggle still. Tip I learnt was to turn the face upside down to check its symmetry. And don't get me started on clean lines... 😂 c x

Thank you soo much that is fab, i enjoyed it very much 💐
Very cute.
Do you think running the embroidery thread thru beeswax would help it to stay untwisted? Thanks for the great video!
Yes it might, but it might also 'stick' the two threads together so your satin stitch wouldn't lay as flat, c x

Yes, this is how I usually do it. For some reason I'm all fingers and thumbs when I know there's a camera watching me!!! c x
Where is the pattern
The link is here - www.sewmag.co.uk/templates/simple-bunny-toy c x
when i click on the demo it comes up "oops something went wrong". However found it on your page now
Yes, sorry, the next demo was scheduled to go live an hour later. That's probably why it was unavailable, c x
😘❤️thanks
What type of artist pencil did you use to trace with?
I think it was a Stabilo Softcolor, but any high pigment colouring pencil should work. you need a fairly high pigment one so you don't have to press so hard and risk distorting the fabric, c x
Pencil was a, 4B
I cannot see the pattern. Am I missing something?
Ah, the pattern link is in the description of the first video here - ua-cam.com/video/Tw7sAxzsvQ4/v-deo.html hope this helps, c x
Really nice 👌 😍💋 💝💖❤️
