Super cute! If you make extras, don't forget nursing homes. My mom received a Raggedy Ann doll as a present, and not only did it decorate her room, but she slept hugging her doll, every night. :)
@@SharaLee60 Shari, that would be so great! Just before Easter I made three mermaid dolls (easy, dolls were printed on the fabric panel), and 15 zippered toiletry bags. I put a nice Kiss nail file and a chapstick in each bag, cute fabrics too, and brought to the nursing home. the activities director called me and said they LOVED everything, but especially the mermaids! Who knew?
I really love all your tutorials and very creative and useful patterns. You’re very talented. Ok, so like I have been sewing for let’s say for many, many years and I have just 1 very simple suggestion as far as the transferring of the face details. How about taking the outside body fabric, after you cut it out and before you baste it to the flannel body part and trace the details by putting the paper pattern under the fabric, trace it on w/frixion pen or even a #2 school pencil (very lightly), then baste the two pieces together and carry on with all the next steps. (By the way, pencil is ok to use, embroider right over it and it will not show through your stitches and pencil will fade with all the handle lint of it while stitching,). Hope this eliminates any people who has trouble drawing these types of features onto doll faces. Keep up the great work that you are doing. Thanks so much. Mary
Right now, I'm learning embroidery and I'm starting with making the face for a doll that I want to look like a specific Star Trek character. It's really fun, and watching your videos is helping me learn a few things before I finalize my first project. As for animals, I have a soft spot for ducks and would totally buy a pattern for a cute baby duck doll. It would be so cute with a little tuft of hair with a bow like this one, and also with the diaper and clothes. You could also embroider the nostrils on the beak. Would make a fabulous Easter gift.
This was so much fun to make. I also made ruby today, i learned what not to do when making her hair, oooh my i had a tangled mess, i didnt following instinct very well 😩 I used a friction pen to do face markings for embroidery, that worked perfect! I wasnt happy with first one i did so i just hit the iron on it and started over Very fun to make! The lil clothes are a a new experience for me, my grandmother use to make tiny things. Its a learning curve for me. Im sure with each time it will be helpful to learning what to or nor to do.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m a beginner sewer and I am going to try and make one of these for my 2 year old! You explained everything so well🥰
Excellent instructions. I am an experienced sewer but haven't sewn much for awhile. I have a new machine and wanted to sew something that would get me used to the machine. And be fun. And a new baby willl soon be part of the family so will send this to her.
I bought the pattern and I luv it I do enjoy making them. It’s the cutest doll ever. In fact it’s the first doll I’ve ever made and I’m Keeping her for my self. Thank you
I just made my first doll and it was so easy and cute. Instead of using flannel, I ironed on interfacing to the head part. Worked out great. I posted a Pic of the doll in the watermelon dress
Love this tutorial. I’ve made several of these dolls. They are great! I cut your pattern out of clear plastic ( from large washed spinach salad box) so it is handy to reuse repeatedly.
I was amazed at how much those Hemostats helped with stuffing the doll. I’m just finishing up my first one. Love your channel & your patterns. Thank you for the tutorial. Super helpful. I’d love to see more tutorials on your dolls sometime.
Watched this with my almost 2 year old daughter and she kept singing "baby baby baby" while watching! I'm going to make her some dolls for her birthday!!
I got your pattern and am excited to start sewing! I am a beginner sewer, so for the awake face, do you have a tutorial on how to do that? And how did you hand sew the baby together at the end? Like what stitch and how do you do it? (Yes I am that new at sewing haha)
Hi there! I only have the embroidery tutorial that this video shows. I know it’s not very thorough, so I’d look up a better beginner embroidery video for that! For the closure, look up an invisible slip stitch tutorial. That’s a good idea for a future video, I’ll work on that soon!

I want to make these, ever since i was a kid watching frozen whey they had the mini dolls. Now i work in childcare in the nursery age group, they children like to play with dolls but we only have “white” dolls when we have a very diverse group of children so i would love to make dolls of different nationalities and bring them in for the children to play with. I will start to get this organised this weekend!!!
Love so much but some of us do not have a printer. It would help us so much if you would please give us dimensions for body so we don’t have to keep trying to get it right. Thanks so much.
Hi I recently purchased the pattern to make the rag dolls and just yesterday I purchased my sewing machine, Singer Patchwork sewing machine. Today, Sunday , I was trying to sew a 1/8 width base stitch around my doll and I ended up having to undo all of my stitching because they were turning out crooked and not at all like yours. By the time I make my dolls they are going to really look like rag dolls in every since of the word Lol. O needs help...should I use some thing to measure to help me keep my stitching straight or what. If you have time please give me some direction for just sewing the two pieces together. Thanks a bunch. Beatrice
Hi Beatrice! So sorry you're having trouble. You can try a couple of things. You can sew the doll without the flannel interlining so that you don't have to sew that step. OR, you can trace the pattern onto the fabrics with a pencil and stitch them together just inside your pencil line and THEN cut them out on the lines. With some practice, your dolls will turn out just fine! :) I hope that helps.
Okay I like the sew inside the pin I’ll but I already cut everything out on the line. Can I try marking just inside the edge of the fabric and is there a device to use to help with markings. Sorry for all the questions but I really want to make my dolly. Beatrice
After I make a knot, I just send my needle through where I ended and bring it up an inch or two away, so I can then cut my thread close and the tails get buried in the stuffing. Does that make sense?

Very simple. Clear instructions. Love it.
An easier way to copy the face is to put the face (paper/drawing) underneath the fabric, draw the face and then baste the fabric to the flannel

Sew adorable!! I love your video tutorials! Thank you! I would love to see a cat and/or bunny doll.

It's so cute , thank you. God Bless you
Great for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
That’s what I’m making mine for! :)
I want to make this for my niece!
Very nice dolls!!!👍
Very cute dolls, if you place the face picture under your skin martial you can see the face and draw it on then take out the paper picture.
That would work too, especially if you hold it up on a window to trace! Thanks for that tip :)
Very nice dolls
amei, obrigada........... vou fazer
If you drW your patternout on freezer paper you can iron it to the fabric making it much easier to cut out,

Gracias! 💕😁

Regular 100% cotton 👍🏻

SOOOO CUTE!
I was thinking about using your sewing patterns to make dolls for the poor children in Haiti that have nothing to play with
That’s a really sweet idea 💕💕💕

Like your dolls. What sewing machine are you deomonstrating with? I am using a Viking.
I was using an old Pfaff at the time, but have since gotten a new Janome!
@@PinCutSew I like Pfaff, still. Sturdy machine witha nice engine. I still have an old Bernina 930 , but to this day, sews the best I have ever used.
Can you make these dolls with a serger and covetstitch instead of a sewing machine?
No, I don't think so because there are small, tight curves and acute angles and those are tricky on a serger.
Adorable!

Teddy bear?
Thank you.
PS . I’m
Working on my 6th one ❤
Would it be possible to do these without a sewing machine and just a needle & thread?
Absolutely! Just practice those tiny stitches so that you can stuff it firmly without any gaps between stitches :)
cute
Sooooo cute😍😍😍
I went to Harbor Freight and found a very long curved hemostats
Can you use fusible fleece instead of flannel backing?
I think that would make it hard to turn right side out, it would be too bulky.
Good
Hey which fabrics used for making this doll
These are made using 100% cotton fabrics, plus lined with flannel.
@@PinCutSew Thank you😊
How/where did you hide your knot after sewing the opening shut of the doll after the stuffing?
After I make a knot, I just send my needle through where I ended and bring it up an inch or two away, so I can then cut my thread close and the tails get buried in the stuffing. Does that make sense?
What sewing machine do you have ?
I use a couple of older Pfaff machines, but I also have a Brother Project Runway machine that I taught lessons on and that’s great for beginners.
What type of febric are u used
I used all cotton fabrics
