Watched this how-to many times and while I was going through the process when I was unsure about something. The only issue I had was the adhesive on the foam pad sensor ribbon was separating from the pad. I tried getting under it on another corner or two until the sensor ribbon stayed with the pad, instead of separating. I put it back into shape as best as I could and stuck it onto the new battery. It was staying glued to the new battery. I was lucky. Everything worked.

Great im glad its not soldered to the motherboard as I feared with some smaller electronics. I have a soldering kit, but I don’t like using it if I don’t have to.
How long do the batteries generally last on these? Also what's the purpose of the foam? Seems like it would just interfere with sound quality unless it's intended to reduce harshness or something.
Great video. Very useful. True, I have a WH 900 N, but now I'm sure that I can replace the batteries myself. It remains to find out the brand of the battery for my headphones and a reliable seller. One remark. In my opinion, it will be more convenient to first connect the cable and power from the battery to the headphones, and then only install the battery in place.

This worked! Can't believe i almost sold this for parts.... Sony do better! Not had this for long and the battery seemed to have blown up partly, wonder if thats the heat of the summer or i should be more careful how i charge it (what connectors etc?)

I have a question i did the mistake to run under the rain a lot and now my headphones wont work in bluetooth but only with Jack cable do you think the battery is damaged or an other part of the headphones
Nice. I just bought the XM5 because my XM4 died just after almost 2 years use. I didn't realize this job is so easy and the battery costs nothing. I just wasted 325e to new headphones which are in many ways a downgrade to the previous model. By the way, the battery should be 3.85 not 3,7
I left my battery low for too long. My headphones would not turn on but all I did was charge up the battery, was at 2.7V, to 3.75. My headphones were fine then after that. Put them back together etc...i now make sure that I remember to recharge them when at 10%. The trouble with Li-ion batteries is if these ones get below about 2.5V, they Will not change up again, but you might be lucky....
Mine just stopped coming on it's been over 3 years now and there's nothing wrong with the battery..I still keep it charged, with hopes that one day i can resurrect it.😢
