I'm still running my XM3's I've not had to change the cushions on mines since I got them when they came out...strangly that's the longest I've had a pair of headphones without changing the cushions...keep up the good work my man
I just bought the WC all black cups to replace the originals, the process for changing was easy but I do feel there is a marked difference between the sound with the increased distance. I did not think of it much before purchasing. Suggest to manuacture an option which is similar in thickness of the originals.
I've just bought these and they make my ears sweaty. Would getting DEKONI AUDIO CHOICE SUEDE REPLACEMENT EAR PADS sort that heat and sweating problem out or would I be wasting $60? Thanks in advance as I have no experience with suede ear cups.
I replaced the inner foam too. In fact, it is best to replace it all together, and once every six months. Think about it, if you wear a piece of clothing for half a year without washing it, how much mold and bacteria will be on it? Putting it on your ears may cause infection. The video says that you should change it when it smells bad. This is wrong. If it smells bad, it means that bacteria and mold have exceeded the limit.
omg thank u so much!! i needed to get a flower crochet charm to fit past the ear part but it was too big for it to pass through so i had to take off the padding to get it to fit haha
Hey Aaron, just subbed. Can you confirm whether the platinum pads are a little deeper / thicker than the originals? I bought the choice suede, but unfortunately the 60mm height and straight internal wall means there is no longer enough space for my ears (although at least my ears aren't touching the driver housing!) Hoping the platinum's are the best of both worlds.
Thanks for subbing! The Platinums are a little deeper but only a bit. Ears might still touch the drivers because it’s almost a carbon copy of the original cushions.

I know this is an older video. But I tried this for both sides and unfortunately didn't work. I noticed this is only happening when on Noise Cancelling. I had these for a few years but always took good care of them. Has anyone found any solution by any chance? In case the only option is sending it back to sony (which I wont cause can imagine the repair prices) does any one have a recommendation for better headsets than these ones? I've loved them but maybe its time for an upgrade. Thanks in advance :)

no they dont. I cannot tell about Platinum ones, only about the choice leather and they do less noise cancelling after the replacement. I was not happy and refound them. Maybe I will try the Platinum next. Just think about that the dekonis are made in china..

My problem with these cushions is that it gets hot. I hate this feeling. If they had replacements cushions with Gel, it would be perfect, also the ANC takes a hit by changing the OG cushions.
Amazon comments on these 3rd party replacement cushions say they peel or within weeks, the sound and the noise cancellation qualities change. Or is it just rubbish comments?
These are more expensive where I am than Sony's own replacement cushions! But I guess if you're being paid every time you mention them in a UA-cam video that's ok 😁

No problem! Slight boost in the mids on the Platinums, no ANC difference as far as I can tell
