    I finally got my 1275 Conversion done on my Iron man it's a night and day difference I had to have Aaron Wilson build a base map for mine because of my Cams & Injector size. I'm a very large rider on a Sportster 6'2" 325lb and it pulls me around effortlessly If I wouldn't of watched Your video months ago I would have never done the conversion but man it's way worth the investment makes a Sporty so much more fun to ride.

    Man your bike looks and sounds so good! And that power, wow, so nice! I have an '01 Sportster (old solid mount with carb), that I just recently finished a 1275 build with Andrews N4 cams, and of course carb re-jetting, new barnett clutch, new valves, head work, new lifters, etc. I could not even believe the power difference, it's a beast and actually kind of scary at first. I definitely wasn't used to that much power, since I've been riding my bike as an 883 for nearly twenty years. But anyway it's awesome and I'm loving it, and still getting used to having so much power, it feels like it's trying to get out from under me. It used to be just a motorcycle and now it's a true beast of a bike!

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  3 роки тому

      That sound is the drive train / extra clutch plate. I would get adjustable pushrods to measure the geometry and adjust. Hammer will try to sell you regular ones which is fine if the geometry is on point but I like to double check. Adjustable push rods are fatter and can sometimes be the culprit of ticking as they bounce in the tube. Thats the trade off I suppose. Hammer will tell you everything you need. You will need to upgrade the stock clutch and diaphragm spring. You will need to buy rear tires more often as well.

      I had it covered with paper due to having nice weather but South Texas gifts ambient temperatures of over 100 degrees during the summer so I felt I needed it. My oil temp stays at about 200-220 in the oil tank on long highway trips.

    Is this a stage 4 tune then? I’m wondering for my 48 how you got that extra 75cc from

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  3 роки тому +3

      This is stage 3.5 ish because I am still running the original crank shaft and rods. You get the extra 75cc from bored out cylinders and fitting a larger piston in there. This makes it move more air, thus increasing the CCs. Then you remove some material from the head to up the compression. The deep dish in the piston helps make up for any volume of air that would have been removed by decking the heads. Finish it up with some high lift cams and you have yourself double the power from factory.
      If your'e interested in a build like this, talk to Hammer Performance. They can get you set up with the parts you need for your desired power level.

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  6 років тому

      The easy answer is to call Hammer Performance and get a quote done for your specific needs.
      The cost really depends on what services you have performed and what parts you go with. Average, work like this will cost about 3k. Money can be saved if you do the install yourself, which was the original plan but I knew that it needed to be tuned immediately so I let the shop handle the internals while I did the most I could externally.
      2-1 exhaust is almost always better than 2-2 because of exhaust scavenging. Im not sure if you have fuel management parts but I recommend Power Vision. It has an auto tune feature for when you have only intake and exhaust. I made 75hp with the heavy breather intake, bassani 2-1 exhaust, and power vision tuner. It can hold multiple tunes which is a plus if you plan to switch back and forth from race fuel to pump gas. TTS master tune is also good but I prefer Power Vision.
      When you have the internal parts and are ready to get it tuned by a professional, they can work off that same fuel management system.

      @samperez525  6 років тому +1

      I am happy to answer any questions you may have but I am unsure if you can make enough power that way. You would need a pretty aggressive cam. I would talk to a tuner or Hammer Performance. Let them know what you're looking for and they can give you the best scenarios as they see this kind of stuff on a daily basis.

      @Primedragoon I don't think there is enough gear left in the transmission to reach that speed come to think about it. I run out of gear at about 210kph or 130ish mph

    Why doesn't Harley just make more power with the same displacement? Works on all the other brands.

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  6 років тому +4

      It has to do with compression, rod length, and the number of pistons given the same displacement. Other brands can rev higher due to smaller rod length but torque suffers a bit as a result. Gearing too plays a big role. Each brand has its pros and cons.

      Cooling all the power can be a big issue too, especially air-cooled.

      why did you just answer your own question?
      no air cooled twins make power like inline fluid cooled engines..

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  6 років тому

      There are a few air cooled v twins out there making over 150hp. Some baggers make over 300hp for that matter. Ive seen some make as much as 400hp. You can find them on youtube.

      Sam Perez Does the instalation was made by yourself or did you took it to a mechanic? Does the instalation required you to make measurement of lobe clearence, valve lift etc etc? I'm planning on do something similar to my 48 but I'll like to make it myself at home.

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  6 років тому +2

      Hammer performance sells you everything you need to do it yourself at home. I originally purchased the kit to do it all at home but did not want to stick with stock lifters and stock pushrods. The kit was measured out for those stock parts so I had shamrock cycles do the measuring with the new parts to be safe.
      I installed Screaming eagle heavy breather and bassani 2-1 exhaust along with fuel management before taking it to the tuner.

    Ticking

    • @samperez525
      @samperez525  6 років тому +3

      Valve train ticking is normal considering those mechanisms are only under an aluminum cover right at the top of the motor where you can hear them even better. It is common for Evolution motors to sound like a sewing machine. What you hear is the pushrods hitting against the inside of the pushrod tubes. This is quite common on EVO's with adjustable pushrods because they're fatter. Especially the front one because of the angle.

    • @CactusJack252
