I was skeptical but this does look pretty sick. Though in the city the lights are just too vibrant and take away from the mood. It makes the city look so "normal" if you know what I mean. Doesn't have that oppressive vibe
Hey- writing again a week later to compliment your beautiful video and also to repeat my question: if you please could provide a tutorial for installing the correct mods to have this same experience? I am also setting up a new machine for my VR so I am hopeful to get it all compatible by the weekend :)
@peponapoosaybish But just putting something, anything, under the pipe is so much easier. Stops it moving completely. Valve provided initial counter-weights as a red herring.
The great thing about the Cinematic mod is that everything is optional. You can change what models you want to use before playing the game. People are outraged just for the sake of being outraged. Once you've played through Half Life 2 and the Episodes, you should give this mod a go. It completely changes all the levels and gives you a completely new Half-Life experience. The weapons used in the video are from another mod called Mmod, which tweaks the balance of the weapons and gives them completely new animations and textures. You can mix and mash mods like that most of the time.
@@Drakey_Fenix Oh yeah I have played the Cinematic Mod before and more or less loved it. Mostly for the extra detailing in the maps. I can get why people hate on it so much. The extra adult content like the graffiti or Alyx's bedroom "surprise" in Black Mesa East was a bit much, but then again a lot of people have this weird traditionalist reverence for Half Life 2 in it's raw original form.
Part of the reason the dislikes are high, is because of the thumbnail. I saw the word "Remastered" and what looked like some epic rendering of the game, but the actual footage is too ordinary. I'd start using normal thumbnails that don't oversell the content if I were you.
no, the vast majority of textures have changed or been modified and there are a bunch of new details in each map. it's still not an actual remaster, though
