      Overhated for sure. So many influencers just read the back of the label and assume they know everything.
      Formulation is equally as important as what’s in the formula. Not just with user experience but also with efficacy.
      Same with eye cream formulations being different than normal moisturizer, and same with certain pricier brands having much more dramatic benefits compared to identical InciLists to their “dupes”.

    Cassandra thank you so much for the discussion on the word “clean,” as well as the nuance of “the dose makes the poison.” As a Registered Dietitian, I share a similar soapbox educating people on “clean eating” and how loaded and meaningless that phrase is. Similar marketing/packaging claims being made all the time in the food industry. That, and the lack of consumer and nutrition education, has really led people to needlessly demonize countless foods and allow marketing teams to shape their thoughts around what they should be eating, based on buzz words and trends 😬 (rather than food and nutrition experts or science).

      Organic foodshas less harmful chemicals . Of course I would choose organic over non organic foods. Also with skin care too, less harmful chemicals is better then skin care full of phthalates/ parabens…. Which increases the risk of cancer. Clean is good because has less bad chemicals

      @autumnautumn5200 Interestingly, that’s not actually true. Organic can also include pesticides-as there are many naturally occurring pesticides-some which can also be toxic. One of the criticisms of organic pesticides is that they have to be used at a toxicity level much higher than synthetic pesticides (vtechworks.lib.vt.edu/server/api/core/bitstreams/95dbec81-43ad-4e41-94a1-551210fa543a/content). I don’t love synthetic pesticides, but I think it’s more about the toxicity level than the chemical itself. For instance, a drop of arsenic in a reservoir would likely do nothing for anyone. But chugging a bottle of witch hazel is definitely going to make you sick!

    Tried multiple Charlotte tilbury magic creams (kept getting them for Christmas) and it is honestly not even that good under foundation there is soo many cheaper moisturisers that look better under makeup! It’s thick and moisturising but brings out texture. At least that’s my opinion and everyone I personally know. I tried this along side the CT foundation, fenty, born this way and multiple others. Ingredient checkers online say Paula’s choice skin recovery night cream is a dupe for it if you want something less expensive. Glow recipe is the best I’ve tried so far for underneath makeup, I have oily to combo skin. The whole brand is just amazing. 😊

A year passed and now I see the brand I've been using for a year is everywhere. It is expensive, but it works. I mean my acne cleared due to hormonal treatment. But the cosmetics from Biologique Riserche also helped. I use the oil, tonic 50W and a creme purificante. My dermatologiest is Ukrainian, she uses these cosmetics in her clinic in Ukraine. And I found the only store in Poland that sells this brand as I live in Poland

    Biologique Recherche is TOTALLY worth the hype. No matter what products I try, whether cheaper or more expensive, they remain the best. They do what they promise, contain no silicones, perfumes, mineral oil etc. and they invest a lot in R&D. I am their loyal client since January 2019. Moreover, their products' prices vary a lot, from cleansers that cost about EUR40, my favourite cream - Creme Iso Placenta - which is a regenerating cream that helps with acne scars - that only costs EUR55 for 50ml to other products that cost over EUR100 and sometimes a lot more. This huge variety in price range makes me think that the prices are set according to the ingredients/technology necessary to produce each product. I love your videos and your advice but constantly saying that expensive products are not worth it is not necessarily correct. It is fine to say that there are acceptable and good cheaper alternatives to them but some expensive products are expensive for a reason (not all of them of course). Unless you try them for at least two months you will not know whether they are worth the hype or not.

    I bought some German Nivea that’s closer to La Mer than the US version. I don’t think people would like the cream as much if it weren’t a super bougie expensive brand. Like if you put La Mer in a drugstore brand package, people wouldn’t like it as much. It’s thick and gunky. I have much nicer feeling creams that cost less and have similar ingredients or even more algae derivatives.
    The Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Cream is so old lady floral and reminds me of Embryolisse Lait Cream which I wanted to like but was so perfumed and made my face red.

    3:07 I don’t exactly know how this is formulated, but this is so incredibly moisturizing and lush when it goes on your skin, it almost gives a cooling effect. Based on the ingredient list, you would think it is the most basic cleanser ever, but as a broke college student this is the one product I cant live without. I dont even use it as a cleanser. During winter I use it to moistuize my skin first thing in the morning, after my water cleanse, and in the summer it is my moisturizer. It is expensive for what it is but I am in love, been purchasing this since 2019.

    My mother spent $36 on an eye cream from L'Oreal recently (keep in mind she is very broke and poor) and it took so much self control to not tell her all the reasons why that purchase was a waste of money. 😭

    • @autumnautumn5200
      @autumnautumn5200 Рік тому +1

      I really think is not a waste of money. I listen to Cassandra and stopped using eye cream , I just use my face moisturizer (cerave) and I got tear duct infection at one eye and some small white bumps under the other one plus teary and red eyes all day. I prefer to cook, wash cloths and iron them instead constantly buying, I don’t spend money on cigarettes/alcohol or drugs. I’m saving money how I can and buy quality food and skin care

    I appreciate that you are trying to teach viewers that they can achieve so many skin benefits with an affordable routine. However, I think there is nothing wrong in paying a lot for a product if it makes you feel good or you love how it feels on your skin (if you have the money to pay for it). Even eye creams, I know it’s totally unnecessary but it’s the product in my inexpensive routine that makes me feel like I’m pampering my self. If an unnecessary or expensive product would make you love taking care of yourself and stay consistent with your routine then why not?☺️

    • @amilehonstein1671
      @amilehonstein1671 Рік тому +3

    I feel like yes be a brand owned by a women and be proud of that but we shouldnt be supporting companies overpricing their products like this. It's low-key scamming people regardless of wealth you can be scammed and that facial massager is way too much money. I support women owned brands if they align with what I believe and if they don't they don't, regardless of the owners gender yk.

    Hi, I been following you and i have learned a lot, you are so beautiful and intelligent that I’m amazed with your knowledge. That’s why I’m asking for your help, because I have learned a lot, but at the same time I’m very confused about the products I should use and the order in which I should start, but not just for me but also for my teenager son, who’s having problems with acne, black heads most of them, and I don’t know how or with what products start, and in my case I had never been taking care of my skin, although I only have oil in my T zone, and that’s enough for me because I wear glasses and they keep getting oily on the area of my eyebrows and my they slip from my oily nose. If you can help us to star a routine and what products get, we’ll appreciate your help a lot. God bless you always for helping all the people you help with your knowledge.

    Cassandra can you recommend some 'clean' brands that actually make sense. And formulate science with conscious ingredients plant based ingredients. Like how Korean brands mix science and traditional ingredients. Eg like ranavat, tower 28 alpyn beauty, youth to the people, dew mighty,etc. These brands I love not because they market as clean but its mostly about their ingredients and most 'clean' brands put some efforts into being more sustainable. And that's why I also adore Korean brands because they care about the ingredients and also bringing science and Chinese traditional medicine together.
