Overhated for sure. So many influencers just read the back of the label and assume they know everything. Formulation is equally as important as what’s in the formula. Not just with user experience but also with efficacy. Same with eye cream formulations being different than normal moisturizer, and same with certain pricier brands having much more dramatic benefits compared to identical InciLists to their “dupes”.
Honestly I feel like la mer stuffs are over priced af but I dont think the products themselves are that bad. I wouldnt object to trying them if i have the money. But at the moment im content with avene, cerave, mustela, cosrx, dr g, the oridnary, paula choices.
Cassandra thank you so much for the discussion on the word “clean,” as well as the nuance of “the dose makes the poison.” As a Registered Dietitian, I share a similar soapbox educating people on “clean eating” and how loaded and meaningless that phrase is. Similar marketing/packaging claims being made all the time in the food industry. That, and the lack of consumer and nutrition education, has really led people to needlessly demonize countless foods and allow marketing teams to shape their thoughts around what they should be eating, based on buzz words and trends 😬 (rather than food and nutrition experts or science).
Organic foodshas less harmful chemicals . Of course I would choose organic over non organic foods. Also with skin care too, less harmful chemicals is better then skin care full of phthalates/ parabens…. Which increases the risk of cancer. Clean is good because has less bad chemicals
@autumnautumn5200 Interestingly, that’s not actually true. Organic can also include pesticides-as there are many naturally occurring pesticides-some which can also be toxic. One of the criticisms of organic pesticides is that they have to be used at a toxicity level much higher than synthetic pesticides (vtechworks.lib.vt.edu/server/api/core/bitstreams/95dbec81-43ad-4e41-94a1-551210fa543a/content). I don’t love synthetic pesticides, but I think it’s more about the toxicity level than the chemical itself. For instance, a drop of arsenic in a reservoir would likely do nothing for anyone. But chugging a bottle of witch hazel is definitely going to make you sick!

3:07 I don’t exactly know how this is formulated, but this is so incredibly moisturizing and lush when it goes on your skin, it almost gives a cooling effect. Based on the ingredient list, you would think it is the most basic cleanser ever, but as a broke college student this is the one product I cant live without. I dont even use it as a cleanser. During winter I use it to moistuize my skin first thing in the morning, after my water cleanse, and in the summer it is my moisturizer. It is expensive for what it is but I am in love, been purchasing this since 2019.
Okay Biologique Recherche has been huggeeee in the luxury skincare circles forever BUT there does seem to be a big amount of celebrities using it publicly as of late. I wouldn't be surprised if they were sending PR to celebs to keep up in the age of social media.
Tried multiple Charlotte tilbury magic creams (kept getting them for Christmas) and it is honestly not even that good under foundation there is soo many cheaper moisturisers that look better under makeup! It’s thick and moisturising but brings out texture. At least that’s my opinion and everyone I personally know. I tried this along side the CT foundation, fenty, born this way and multiple others. Ingredient checkers online say Paula’s choice skin recovery night cream is a dupe for it if you want something less expensive. Glow recipe is the best I’ve tried so far for underneath makeup, I have oily to combo skin. The whole brand is just amazing. 😊
My dermatologiest suggestet me the whole rutine from Biologique Reserche as a help in my adult acne treatmet a year ago. And there was no info on this company at all. A year passed and now I see the brand I've been using for a year is everywhere. It is expensive, but it works. I mean my acne cleared due to hormonal treatment. But the cosmetics from Biologique Riserche also helped. I use the oil, tonic 50W and a creme purificante. My dermatologiest is Ukrainian, she uses these cosmetics in her clinic in Ukraine. And I found the only store in Poland that sells this brand as I live in Poland
When I moved to America as a young teen my mom, before putting me on the plane looked me in the eyes and said VERY SERIOUSLY: ALWAYS wear sunscreen (even if it’s raining or I’m not going outside) and ALWAYS do your triceps exercises (leave the batwings to the 🦇!). That’s what she said 😂
Huh. My mom told me never to trust men who wear funny shoes, always put a little water in the bottom of the broiler pan before you cook with it, and with respect to marriage, "Try before you buy!"
Yes plz Cassandra. Do a review on Biologique Recherche, i used on it myself but now really much of a fun I don’t know if I used it correctly but it gave me a breakout keep in mind I have dehydrated/sensitive skin
Biologique Recherche is TOTALLY worth the hype. No matter what products I try, whether cheaper or more expensive, they remain the best. They do what they promise, contain no silicones, perfumes, mineral oil etc. and they invest a lot in R&D. I am their loyal client since January 2019. Moreover, their products' prices vary a lot, from cleansers that cost about EUR40, my favourite cream - Creme Iso Placenta - which is a regenerating cream that helps with acne scars - that only costs EUR55 for 50ml to other products that cost over EUR100 and sometimes a lot more. This huge variety in price range makes me think that the prices are set according to the ingredients/technology necessary to produce each product. I love your videos and your advice but constantly saying that expensive products are not worth it is not necessarily correct. It is fine to say that there are acceptable and good cheaper alternatives to them but some expensive products are expensive for a reason (not all of them of course). Unless you try them for at least two months you will not know whether they are worth the hype or not.
Even tatchas rice polish is more impressive than the barbara sturm exfoliant. Like theres sooooo many better ones (or, like cass mentioned, the dermalogica ones)
I did my taxes today and the government acts like I’m in this tax bracket now lol 😂 I love my personal affordable skincare routine but I love watching luxury routines!
I was super skeptical about sk-II, but I got that sheet mask on stylevana (for $8 plus you can use a 22% promo code) & its absolutely amazing. The redness in my skin was GONE like nothing else. I wouldn’t pay for any other sk-II, but 1 of these masks has the equivalent of 1 oz of pitera essence. Its worth trying
Emma Roberts is an acting legacy. She is from a family of actors and was raised in extreme wealth. She probably doesn't even realize that these aren't normal products to use.
Thank you for being realistic about skincare pricing and making young girls (& women in general) realise more expensive is not better!!! I was young once with acne and nothing worked, so assumed more expensive was better and it was not, I just wasted my small young hard earned wage!

Congratulations on 2M!! 🥳 I've watched your videos for the past few years, and your channel is full of amazing content and informative reviews that haven't failed to make me educated and amused!
I would love for you to do a Biologique brand review! An esthetician I go to is always telling me how amazing it is, and I am dying to know if it’s worth the moolah!!!
Ever since you put me on the Dermalogica microfoliant I’ve been hooked. I bought two minis and after loving it so far I decided to upgrade to a size up! I bought the full size for 48$; it feels good to be alive
I bought some German Nivea that’s closer to La Mer than the US version. I don’t think people would like the cream as much if it weren’t a super bougie expensive brand. Like if you put La Mer in a drugstore brand package, people wouldn’t like it as much. It’s thick and gunky. I have much nicer feeling creams that cost less and have similar ingredients or even more algae derivatives. The Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Cream is so old lady floral and reminds me of Embryolisse Lait Cream which I wanted to like but was so perfumed and made my face red.
Cassandra, it would be super duper awesome if you would review our beautiful Lithuanian natural skincare and cosmetics brand called 'Uoga Uoga' (which means 'Berry Berry). It is of course vegan and cruelty free and we, Lithuanians, are absolutely thrilled about it, its very known and popular here!
You don’t need to watch tv to know who Emma Roberts is. Biologique Recherche is really great! I love their Hydravits cream. I promise it’s amazing. I have dessert dry skin. And it’s not « Lot » it’s « Lait » which means Milk in French and you say it like « Leh »
I know that eyecream usually is an overpriced moisturizer but hear me out 😁 I have oily t-zone and my under eye area is quite dry, so I appreciate having two separate products for each part. And the eye cream happens to be budget friendly - BoJ retinal serum or Isntree real bifida eye cream - both around 9 EUR/USD when slightly discounted (that's when I buy them), sooo... 😅
I guess the thing is that you could probably do is use a different moisturizer. Like it doesn't need to be a specific eye cream to use it under the eyes. Cassandra has talked about how it can be totally valid to use different products on different areas. But you down whatever works for you ❤
Cassandra, i absolutely love watching your videos and learning about all the behind the scenes info about skincare. However, I am currently 7 almost 8 months pregnant and have found the at about 4 months, my skin TOTALLY changes and my skin care routine was just not found the trick anymore. Since then I’ve tried to follow the pregnancy guidelines for what is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding but have fallen extremely short. Could you help all us pregnant and breastfeeding mommas out and do a video on some safe products for us? Blessed be my beauty!!
My mother spent $36 on an eye cream from L'Oreal recently (keep in mind she is very broke and poor) and it took so much self control to not tell her all the reasons why that purchase was a waste of money. 😭
I really think is not a waste of money. I listen to Cassandra and stopped using eye cream , I just use my face moisturizer (cerave) and I got tear duct infection at one eye and some small white bumps under the other one plus teary and red eyes all day. I prefer to cook, wash cloths and iron them instead constantly buying, I don’t spend money on cigarettes/alcohol or drugs. I’m saving money how I can and buy quality food and skin care
I've been using the Biologique Recherche P50 toner and the placenta serum for years now and they are amazing! I'd love to hear your opinion on their products.
She is telling her opinion according to ingredients list, she haven’t tried them. You really need to try BR for at least 6 months to understand the magic (I’m sure you know what I’m talking about 🙃).
I did try SKII and now still using it, but I don’t know how to explain it, but is does work very well. I did try so many product alike SKII, but it doesn’t really work the same like SKII
There are other ways to get clearer skin as a mom than using bleaching ingredients so I disagree with the response and think that her skin routine is good . A cleanser with a good formulation for your skin sometimes is key and price is not an issue when it comes to a cleanser which works well
Could you do an episode on what Charlotte Tilbury products you would recommend and there alternatives because you just explain everything so wonderfully.
I feel like yes be a brand owned by a women and be proud of that but we shouldnt be supporting companies overpricing their products like this. It's low-key scamming people regardless of wealth you can be scammed and that facial massager is way too much money. I support women owned brands if they align with what I believe and if they don't they don't, regardless of the owners gender yk.
hey cassandra i know you have reviewed be minimalist and loved some of their products so can you also review another indian brand derma co. this brand also uses amazing ingredients and kinda is like a competition to minimalist but I want to know more better ingredients of the derma co products
Hi, I been following you and i have learned a lot, you are so beautiful and intelligent that I’m amazed with your knowledge. That’s why I’m asking for your help, because I have learned a lot, but at the same time I’m very confused about the products I should use and the order in which I should start, but not just for me but also for my teenager son, who’s having problems with acne, black heads most of them, and I don’t know how or with what products start, and in my case I had never been taking care of my skin, although I only have oil in my T zone, and that’s enough for me because I wear glasses and they keep getting oily on the area of my eyebrows and my they slip from my oily nose. If you can help us to star a routine and what products get, we’ll appreciate your help a lot. God bless you always for helping all the people you help with your knowledge.
Hi Casandra. Love ❤️ your channel. How do you rate WIMJ ? They give honesty points to all skincare. Charlotte Tilbury comes out really badly. As it's highly irritating. They claim inflammation can cause aging and we should avoid it. So I'm confused.
Cassandra would you mind looking into mCaffeine's products especially their serums (detox green tea face serum, Naked and raw caffeine serum). They are vegan and cruelty free too. Thanks!
What ingredients should I be looking for in serums and creams then if I’m dry skinned? In winter it’s particularly bad, this year I had to get a medical cream to get rid of the dryness. But i do think it would be helpful to see what ingredients I should be looking for!
He reactions are starting to really pisse off she is always criticizing celebrities products choices even if they are respecting the orders , simply because they are not using the brands she is promoting aka working with
Hey Cassandra, I use Biologique. No they aren’t sending them to celebrities, it’s a semi-old school luxury line, and yes they are game changers. People who are in the know have been using it for a long time. Their P50 lotion is their claim to fame and the best chemical exfoliating toner on the market bar none (in my humble opinion). I’m also a huge fan of their placenta serum, you have to try it. They’re pricy but you’re paying for high end formulations.
I've purchased from this company p50 with phenol. I bought the large bottle, pricey but it lasts a long. I do get the same effect, with just using lactic acid.
Please, please, please try The Cream by Augustinus Bader. We need someone who knows ingredients to do the 28 day challenge. I think it is a game changer, but if I could spend less I would. Love you, beautiful butterfly!
I feel that anytime someone uses a La Mer eye cream a piece of Cassandra's soul dies. It hits her on two fronts (eye cream and La Mer)
It’s pretty cringe for most skintellectuals I think

Cassandra, do you purchase the 5 dollars eye patch with your money? Or they send it for free? Please answer
skin care gurus like Cassandra for sure are getting a pantry full of skin care THANKS TO PR
Can you please review Augustinus Bader skincare ? It seems to be one of the few luxury skincare lines without nasty ingredients 🥺 thank you!! 🙈
„nasty ingredients“? do you even watch cassandra‘s videos lmao
„nasty ingredients“? do you even watch cassandra‘s videos lmao
Nasty ingredients? 😂
these are my favorites from you🤩💗
I feel like yes be a brand owned by a women and be proud of that but we shouldnt be supporting companies overpricing their products like this. It's low-key scamming people regardless of wealth you can be scammed and that facial massager is way too much money. I support women owned brands if they align with what I believe and if they don't they don't, regardless of the owners gender yk.
I got a roller identical to that on Amazon for like 20 bucks I think if that
i love how you said lait = latte because they both mean milk in french and italian hehe
Do you have a video about safe physical exfoliants?
Are silicone face scrubbers, safe?
Please please please do a video on biologique they have a flagship store in LA

Thanks!
Cassandra you should check out Conan's gray skincare and curly hair routine!
What ingredients should I be looking for in serums and creams then if I’m dry skinned? In winter it’s particularly bad, this year I had to get a medical cream to get rid of the dryness. But i do think it would be helpful to see what ingredients I should be looking for!
Petrolatum!!!! AKA Vaseline. Also mineral oil!
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 2 MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would you consider reviewing products by Apivita, YouthLab, Natura Siberica and Skynn in the future?
‘That guy from Halloween….Jason….?’
Ok that’s a little embarrassing 😂
FYI: “Lait” is pronounced “lay” and is French for milk.
Hello, there is a new Indian skincare brand called Brillare which claims to be 100% plant based, if you could review the products please 😀
He reactions are starting to really pisse off she is always criticizing celebrities products choices even if they are respecting the orders , simply because they are not using the brands she is promoting aka working with
Same. Tired of it.
dont watch it then. keep buying overpriced products
Girl she mentioned like 50 brands how would she work w all of them 💀 she gives normal reasons u r just weird
Shut up you unicorn 🦄
@@peachycreamy9481what is placenta cream?? Sorry for my ignorance 🙈 but sounds disgusting lol
SQUALANE IS FROM SHARK LIVER??? SHARK?? LIVER?? how did someone find out this was good for our skin??? honestly my jaw dropped when i heard this
Please, please, please try The Cream by Augustinus Bader. We need someone who knows ingredients to do the 28 day challenge. I think it is a game changer, but if I could spend less I would. Love you, beautiful butterfly!
What do you think about the new Mac Cosmetics Hyper Real skincare line?
If you plan to watch one of Emma Roberts movies then I suggest Meet The Millers or Aquamarine
Yes, please try biologique so I know whether to invest 🙏🏻
