Let's Model the TITANIC in 10 MINUTES in Blender 2.81 - ep. 3

- I challenge myself to try to model titanic from scratch in Blender in 10 minutes. This is starting to become a weekly segment and I aim to release a speed modeling video every Thursday.
I use a simple 5 color texture to colorize this model and the modelling is mainly using loop-cuts, extrusions, and scaling of different primitive polygons.
You can download the Blender file that I created in this video here:
www.dropbox.co...
I leave the 10 minute segment of the modeling procedure untouched with no cuts or manipulations. What you see during the 10 minute countdown is exactly how it played out.
I also compare this model pictures of the real Titanic for good and bad :)
I used Blender 2.81 and the video was recorded 2020-01-07.

After watching your hour long low poly modeling tutorial last week, I find myself losing hours to having fun making things in blender. Thanks for the inspiring series!
when cutting with the knife tool, press C to lock it straight up down left right or at 45-degree angles.
NICE...Thanks!
Thank you, I never knew that but it was really helpful.
I was gonna look up how to do this. Making paralel lines will be much easier now, thank you!
If nothing else, I, a naval enthusiast, can point at your model and say "that's Titanic (or an Olympic class liner)"
Total aside, I can't stand blender but I've been learning it recently and your videos have gotten me through it so cheers
you're my hero, Imphenzia! You're teaching me how to model and I've already sold some 3d printed things that i designed! :))))
i cannot thank you enough, you're helping a lot of people!
Your videos are very educational. It gives me so much inpiration and made the process of modelling so much more clear to me. Thank you so much and please keep making your videos!
best part was when he brought in the browser and "scaled it down"
Nice work, i learn so much just watching this 10 miuntes challanges!
That's super cool - thanks for watching!
I just want to say thank you. Not only are your videos fun and informative, but you don't swear! I love that. I can't tell you how many times I've opened an art or program tutorial and was instantly assaulted with smutty language. So far all your videos have been clean and family friendly. I really do appreciate that.
My BF loves the Titanic so I HAD to watch this one! :) I thought you did a great job!
Titanic had the legal number of lifeboats. They we're intended to shuttle passengers to a rescue ship, not to hold everyone at once. Kind of a case of poor planning I guess. In any case, great job. That would have taken me 3 hours.
Yeah, I remember reading about that too - it seems like incidents / disasters like these are what causes the regulations to be improved. I find it a bit strange that they considered it unsinkable considering the water could spill over the bulkheads if 4+ compartments were filled. Surely risk management, even in those days, would consider a scenario of scraping multiple holes? Apparently not - or the risk deemed to be too low to justify the cost. I wonder if it would have stayed float if they didn't detect it and took a full on frontal hit instead. Thanks for commenting!
@@Imphenzia
I would argue every ships of the time would have been advertised as being unsinkable or super safe.
Even then, when she was created, she was the peak of safety at the time, the only thing they though could sink the ship would have been man made like a bomb
But the bias toward tragedies makes it so we only remember this one and don't mind the others.
Plus, they barely had enough time to ready all the lifeboats, having more would just mean the ship would sink with half of them still on board
@@Imphenzia Looking at History, an iceberg collision like Titanic's fatal collision (a side swipe) was extremely uncommon. The designers planned for two compartments at most to be breached from a head on collision or puncture from another ship. (Titanic's sister ship Olympic was struck by a naval ship and survived)
Note how i said another ship, an unmovable wall of ice would probably have sunk the Titankic faster.
@@Pac0Master Interestingly the claim that the Titanic was "unsinkable" never really was emphasized until after it sank. prior to that it was mostly just known for being the largest ship ever built with state of the art features

Nice job. Thanks for these videos. It's really entertaining and inspiring (and educational) watching you crank out these 10 minute models. Next time you're in the mood for a ship I'd be fascinated to see what you could come up with modelling an aircraft carrier in 10 minutes.
I think its pretty amazing that you did this from memory and the giss reads so well.
Wow - you actually constructed a version of the Titanic that would actually not sink lol. Great work. By the way - the barrels on the deck are called Capstain and bollards and are used for the rope rigging when tying alongside the Jetty when in a Port. (The actual ones on the real Titanic were only used once as they never made it to their first Port of call). Great work - keep it up.
She did docked in France and Ireland after leaving Southhampton, so she did make her first two ports of call, but never made it to New York, of course.
The Poop deck is all wrong 13:08. Love your videos! Keep it up!
I love you man... you share your knowledge with beginners generously... Tanks a lot
wow i loves ur channel and learned alot thanks
No Kate Winslet :-(
But seriously, superb job; not only a great demo of your super skillage but also a reminder of how fast blender can be once you have those hotkeys baked into memory.
Automirror add-on would shave off 5 secs at the start :-)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
So much fun just watching you do stuff, great modeling exercise
Very impressive for such a short amount of time ! Well done :) And I learned a few cool tricks along the way.
Thanks, glad it was useful too :)
Neminem from the Blender Discord sent me here and I sub'ed. Great stuff here.
Who needs lifeboats on an unsinkable ship ;)
Only the rich, history told me! :)
@@Imphenzia That's still somewhat hard to digest while realizing who are ignored and for what reason!
By the way, Thank you for your great contributions, sir. God bless you and your family!
in 20 minutes i made a cube bend but got stuck adding a color. Kudus to you!
These are awesome! thanks man you're great
I love 3d modeling and you've given me great ideas and ways to increase productivity and making my longer builds look much better!
Super !
I love your videos
YOU ARE PERFECT!
Thanks dude! It was very helpful for me
For ten minutes, you done really well! I might have had a box. I am thinking about modelling Noah's arc based on biblical dimensions etc. Shouldn't be as complicated. Maybe throw in the three decks.
I bag know english, but you do models very great! I like!
Мой любимый канал! Лучшие уроки лоу поли!
How do people like you speed run like that? It is so epic!
Well Made :D
Nice Boat to have ready for decoration etc in a game :D
Cheers, decoration at the bottom of the sea :)
@@Imphenzia yes that too :D or easter-egg in another game :)
Great job! I watch these vid s to spur me on and stop slacking :)
Hey, don't be hard on yourself. What you did in 10minutes is excellent. I know I'm a nube but couldn't you have used the Array modifier for the stacks, instead of duplicating each one? Just a thought. Fantastic set of challenges you have created, I hope there are a whole lot more to come. How about a suspension bridge? Many thanks. Brian
thanks a bunch, you're great!
this man just did in 10 minutes what i have done in 1 month
Очень интересные видео!)) надо с горячими клавишами лучше будет)))
This helped a lot, thanks!
Great work 10 min ww super...
Idea for a 10 minute video. Let your subscribers build something with commands they comment to you on, up to 5 commands only for example starting with the cube; select top face, e to extrude, s to scale in 0.03 r to rotate your choose, select front face.
I just sent 5 commands, and you can do this for your subscribers for minutes. Do it live with chat. That would be fun to see what gets made at the end created by your subscribers.
On twitch the donation shout outside they can send special commands or what ever. Be creative with the rules.
Anyways just for fun and and an idea.
If you watch it in x2 speed it only takes 5 minutes. That's the power of math or as you might say "maths".
Watching a year later, this is awesome 👏
I just discovered this channel. Keep it up don't give up. Make some videos on rigging and animating.
Thank you - I will try! I've just recently released one about rigging and animating (walk cycle) but I will add more content on the topic.
DID IT SINK! hahahaha! Great job!
Well done..!
Cheers!
Wow I still try to learn this program.
Before I use DesignSpark to do my project but this is different planet so much more options practically the ways how you can do your project are unlimited and is for free WOW!
i dont know if you still do these or not but is it all possible to do some sweet treats modelling? things such as jellies, cakes etc? thank you
Really cool Stefan, It's amazing to see what you can do in 10 minutes! :D
Thanks! =)
You are magician!!
i subbed upon this.
5:23
Another great video, love the design in such a small amount of time. As a suggestion, could you possibly attempt to create a tank in 10 minutes?
Yet again, great work.
Thanks a lot! Yes, I can queue up a tank for a video :)
Please make a tutorial step by step on how to make the Titanic with full detail. you may use reference sheets for that and you may have to do it in parts, because if you make it in 1 video it will take about 3-7 hours.
Thanks
Now let's sink it in a minute
A suggestion for next next video, do RMS Olympic.
Did he really say "Did it sink?" There's a whole movie about it lmaoo
great video, would be really interested to know how you would add all of those windows
Great video! I'm trying to follow along, however, I'm stuck on 4:23. How did you move only the top face and edges without moving the bottom face?
Your help would be appericated, thanks!
he extruded it into 2 different faces, if that's what you're asking
Not bad for ten minutes and no reference material
What is your play store name? Imphenzia?
Why the model of the download link is only purple coloured?
police station with police cars and characters (in a series or something) or even 1hr of modelling it compared to 30mins and 15mins then 10mins and then finally 5mins XD
I will plan that :)
Imphenzia thanks, love your vids!
this is great, can you do this in slower versions for beginners thanks
alternative title:
*Let’s model a random ship with little to nothing in common with the Titanic and call it the Titanic because views.*
Hello From Turkey good work thank you hope you can show on screen what button you click so it will be great to understand sorry my English is not so good hope you understand me have a good day
sir can we use your model in our youtube video after download it?
You should try a Castle scene.
How did you drag the texture in at 1:46 ?
Give us Beatl Ball 3 !!!
Haha that would be fun. Every time I think about BB3 I do a massive scope creep in my imagination :D I had awesome feedback from a breakout game fan with ideas so if I was to make BB3 I think it could be cool :)
i dont understand why you didnt use materials
That's identical to me if u ask ✌️💜
Thanks for the encouragement :)
It is good.
But he doesn't know it sank 🤣🤣
How can learn, i want to become a professional blender?
merge hotkey pls
Can you make a video about modeling a gun and then maybe program it in unity?
Sure, real gun or scifi?
@@Imphenzia sci fi
it would nice to see if you can test the gun with ik aiming you did on last video :)
