I love how Jay, even with his enormous wealth is still humble within himself and to his viewers when he says $100k is a lot of money and even the $29k tuner kit for this car is expensive. He's a rich a famous guy, but he's one of the only celebs that seem to be just one of the guys.
Nothing but respect for Jay Leno. He has a passion for automobiles and he really knows what he's talking about.
I want to be so successful that I need a golf cart to get around my garage.

Even though I have realized my dream by buying a 2013 GTR, I can tell you it still gives me chills every time Jay gets on the gas and that exhaust comes to life!! :)

i love v/8s but sometimes you want fun,speed and not spending $20 every 10 minutes on fuel.
i just bought a Nissan(altima) 3 days ago,drove it every day and the needle hasn't moved on my gas gauge yet.
it has as more power than my v8 camaro from the 80's and its a four banger that's quiet,smooth and quick
the 5 speed and the engine/drivetrain in these Nissan's are just a thing of mechanical beauty.

SP-Engineering originally a performance shop for Ferrari, Lambo and Porche for about 15 years plus. They also have hop-up parts for Japanese and some American brands. The GT-R is just an addition to their line-up.

Well, it depends on what you actually want from a car, GTR can be driven whole year, Lambo gives more prestige, it's sound is more exciting, and it's something really special. Driving it everyday as a normal car simply hurts, better have another "everyday driver", unless you have so much money that you don't care about it. Personally I'm in love with S63 Coupe.
+Cars Uncovered Yeah but depending on how hard it was driven before it might need a rather pricey chassis maintenance tightening everything up that can run upwards of 10k. I know that's how much it costs for the LFA and you have to do that every 10k performance driven miles on it.
you kidding me? you know how expensive dailying a GTR is? as soon as a car has lots of performance it costs a fortune to maintain
The GTR is a beast. Looks phenomenal and performs top class. In Oz we called it Godzilla.

this guy is so humble ,so many other tuners that I've seen on interviews talk like they are gods gift to cars. my buddy just bought a gtr for 60k preowned and he's modding it but once it blows he's going to build the engine. great cars and they make awesome drivers, these cars are the total package you can have 1000hp with air conditioning and reliability too.
That noise is what nightmares are made of, when Porsche's go to sleep :)

100 grand for the car + $29,000 for the package to bring it to 800 HP. In total you spend $129,000 and a Lambo Costs $400,000. Plus GTR has rear seats for my Niggas and Hoes so this car is perfection in my eyes. Sucks I can't afford one :(

My dad sold jay a Vincent black shadow a long long time Ago and I heard this story when I was young. Since then I’ve always followed jay and his presence on the car scene. He’s genuinely a good dude and I wish more celebrities shared their passions with the world. He’s saving so many cars and I hope it promotes more people to the world of automobiles.

Jay- check out a shop named AMS just outside Chicago. I took my WRX (you have not done a WRX, no?) in to have my two year pile of parts installed and dyno pro-tuned. They have a GT-R program definitely worthy of an episode.
For a 2010 this gtr looks absolutely gorgeous. Very subtle. No obnoxious body kits or anything
I enjoy watching this show way much. Especially, the flavours being brought up - just like the bonnet support stick! :D It is such an unobtrusive part, yet they mannage to turn it to a entertaining discussion. I'm chuffed to bits by it! :D

Can't believe people are still arguing if this is a Skyline or not, just like when it first came out. The answer is, that Nissan themselves does not consider this a continuation of the Skyline brand.
The Skyline brand has moved over to Nissans luxury badge, Infiniti. Skylines are now 4 door sedans. It's not uncommon for automakers to shift brands in other directions. Look at the new generation of the Dodge Charger.
The R-34 was a skyline. This R-35 is the GT-R. It is the continuation, simply under a Different name. Although I believe the Skyline would also be called a GT-R.
GT-R pre R35 is a variant with 4 wheel drive and the most powerful engine. Theres also rear wheel drive versions such as the Skyline GT, GT-T etc. The GT-R badge was the top of the line.
I guess you dont know much about Skylines history. Every skyline since the dawn of time has come in 4 door. People would refer to the RB26 models simply as the GTR, no one would even says skyline. So nissan just cut out the name and literally called it a GTR.

Maybe so maybe no. They also share the same chassis code as skylines. Its VIN has R35. If you know that is the skyline chassis code. R34, R33, R32, R31 etc etc. Yet another thing making it a skyline. The taillights, another trademark skyline feature dating back to even the original skylines. AWD, 6 cyl turbo. Since Nissan is under new management maybe they are trying to seperate from the past or something, but either way this is a skyline. They are just trying to erase the history that they would make 4 door versions, so its in its own class. Not "oh its just the highest trim version of this 4 door shitbox".

T.O.P.S none of you guys know what your talking about.... the GT-R r35 is no longer a skyline it's just a GT-R now and skyline wasn't moved anywhere, infiniti is a marketing names used by nissan to distribute more nissan cars in the American market with that being said the skyline always existed since the 50's and the so called infiniti g35 and g37 are really the skyline 350gt and the 370gt. Nissan always made the skyline but the combination of skyline and gtr came about in 1970 now all they did was pull it apart again. Infiniti doesn't exist it's just a marketing name they're all nissans so the g35 and g37 form part of the V series skylines not the R like the GT-Rs but they have always been skylines please inform yourselves before arguing it's pathetic and embarrassing to us real enthusiasts of the car..

I love Japanese cars! Just got an Infinity Q50 with the twin turbo V-6. It's crazy fast and the acceleration is so nuts! The on-board electronics are unreal.

Nissan and the Japanese in general make and take take cars to a different level but they just dont hold the value as much as the Italian made cars.
I think the Nissan GTR is a fabulous car.
You put the GTR up against any American or European car it will leave it for dust the Japanese are the ones who now move the car industry forward in innovation and design.
They not only go fast they are as you say reliable and very fuel efficient, you get so many optional extras thrown in as opposed to the European or American cars.
In fact I would even go as far as to say all the Americans do is make ugly cars with big block engines in them with no road handling at all they are only worth anything in America.
+namit khan yo, the z28 destroyed a GTR in a time by time comparison and in a track race, not only that, the z28 is cheaper and has more engine parts than the GTR, the GTR is a beautiful car but is limited compared to the Camaro 5th gen, and also, Camaro has more heritage and at least our transmission doesn't crack when we build up the power :)
The American cars have loads of power but no road handling at all, Anybody can build a car with a big block v8 but what use is it if it is a death trap with no road handling.
The GTR has the most superior road handling system in the world.

I cringe every time I see a car parked without the e brake on. Why so many people do that is beyond me. That's almost as annoying as people that slam it into drive while they're still rolling backwards. Both put strain on the transmission and accelerate wear. Is that 2 seconds really worth 3 grand for a new transmission?
Girls do that a lot that i've seen. I cringe when people turn on their car and go straight to drive and just go...like nooo poor engine!!!

I've absolutely loved the GT-R since I first saw the R32!!!! I was a teenager then! I STILL dream of owning one!!! Hopefully 2020 will be my year it happens! Still time in 2019, that would be awesome!
