I honestly dont think it would be too far of a stretch to say Macaque’s fur started turning white in some places because of stress, and he hides that by using glamor to keep his fur black because he believes its a sign of vulnerability. Same thing with his eye, his ears, and the scar. I feel like these things he considers a weakness (especially the ears because people can use his hearing against him.) Macaque truly is a perfect actor, he refuses to let people see his weaknesses.
You have a good point, it would really explain why he would choose to hide all of these things. He's more or less exactly that kind of person who would see it as a weekness. At the moment at least..
OMG I JUST REALISED SOMETHING what if macaque is an albino? pls hear me out if his fur is white he still has the red marking, and what if he also decided to hide that he maybe has a different eye colour so noone thinks he is either posessed by something or an albino?? it would reason why he thinks his white fur is a weakness, and if he hides that because he is an albino it would only make sense that he also hides his true eye colour. i know it would be a little stretch if we also start to consider him hiding his skin colour because it would be more pale and all that, but it isn't impossible. If he actually hides all the other things because he sees them as weaknesses, it would explain why he would hide his fur colour (i am sorry if i start repeating myself), and then his colour palette would have 2 very outstanding colours, red and white. His eyecolour could also be considered a weakness if it is originally red, because it could hint that he is an albino or people (maybe his old friends ich we saw in s4) could think he is a demon/ posessed by one? (btw., it would also, after seeing s4, not be a so far stretch that he his all those things so that his friends don't think he is weak because he wanted to feel validated. Also, it would kind of more explain his empathy with tang (in the scene before his fur turned white), since he was the ''weakest'' in the group and didn't really feel validated. it really feels tang and macaque had a lot in common.) I think he would hide his true eye colour either on the same ''layer'' as his fur, or it would be the next thing before that. Now to go back to his colour palette, as i said he would have 2 very outstanding colours, now if we assume his eye is also red it leaves just his skin, and have you ever seen a monkey with REALLY dark fur and REALLY pale skin? i think no. I think that macaque would hide his skincolour to because, 1: like the eyes it could hint that he is an albino 2: it would get more attention because it wouldn't fit to his fur and others would become curious. I'm gonna rewatch the scene where his fur turned white to check if maybe some of his skin turned a little bit more pale too (and also to check if it's just the lighting) Ok, maybe i am just delusional, but i think his skin turned a little more pale, but it could actually just be the lighting. @Lumarnis what do you think about the idea that macaque could be an albino? could you, if you ever make a second video to this ( maybe after s5) also consider that possibility? Also: I am sorry if i dropped a theory bomb on anyone, and i am also sorry if in some seasons there were things that speak against this because i just started watching the series but watched videos like lmk but it's just macaque etc. (i really like his neutral chaotic vibe and now i wanna watch the show because of him (no, i do not simp -.-)) And i already know way to many theories and lore shit for the fact that i personally did only watch to s1 ep3 or ep4 yet.
@@sina3d51 ahhhh, Im so sorry I didn't see your comment..!! You probably have forgotten all about it, but I felt like I should answer still, as you directly asked me. Im really sorry, so here we go - So.. Macaque being an albino, huh? That would be kinda a really fun aspect to explore, considering he's conected with shadows and darkness! (just like if his fur was just white😅)) I personally believe there is a little chance Macaque really has white fur. Especially since LMK seems to be inspired the monkey king 2009 series. And I guess, if his fur is white, then why not go all the way to being an albino? I can see where you are coming from. But I'll have to say, im not so sure myself. I definitely agree that he could be hiding it because of the fact he sees it as a weakness (the whole start of this conservation 😅) but that could also be the case if he had just white fur, for whatever reason, (like if it turned white out of stress) But yeah, if he's an albino his eyes and skin tone would likely be different too as you say. But first of. If you Google the monkey species: Macaque, online (you know the species that Macaque is)) you will see that it is actually quite comment for them to have white fur, without being an albino. I feel like there's more pictures of them with white-greyish hair, than with black actually. So I don't really believe that helps to prove the fact. But then again, if he really does hide his fur color, then why not his skin color too. It's hard to say. I looked through the scene, as you said you might saw his skin color change too, and I really couldn't determine whether that was the lighting or an actual change of color. It was much more blury than the spot on his tail. Then there's his eyes. Normally he has golden eyes that we know. And he also canonically have purple eyes sometimes when he uses his powers. But red eyes, huh? Well I must say, that if his natural eye color isn't gold it would explain some things. 🤔 AS we know, the only reason Wukong has golden eyes is - short said - because he was burned. It is more or less a scar. So why would Macaque has the same eye color when he should not have been burned like Wukong? Either he just naturally had them, or you are suppose to believe the "Macaque is a clone of Wukong" theories OR either, you could believe, that his natural eye-color is actually something else (like red) but he hides it. But yet... Im just thinking of he really has red eyes or something, why exactly would he make them the color of gold? Wukong's eye color?? I guess It could be explained by several reasons. One being their previous friendship and/or connection, And then he just didn't change the color after - you know what - because then people who actually thought his eye color was gold, would be suspicious. (like the brotherhood or something) Well short said: I don't find it highly likely that he's an albino, but it would defintely be fun if he turned out to be! I don't know if I will make a "part 2" of this video. But if I do, it WILL likely be after season 5, where I then can take that and all the new theories I have collected since making this video and mentioning them in tg part 2. If I ever do that - and remember it😅 - I Will mention the theory of him being an albino, I promise! It is interesting after all!
@@Lu-Zijing firat of all: don't worry about not seing the comment! I don't expect anyone to read my comment since there are so many people that wrote their own comments to and it is just impossible to read all of them all of the time, and sometimes one slips throuh and that's it. (I myself lowkey forgot about this comment tbh) I am really happy tho that you responded, and there were even one or two points i didn't even think of! Idk if i said this in the original comment but this little theory just started out as a: "in what cases would white furr indicate a weakness?" And then my brain just went down the rabbithole. Overthinking can be utilized when it comes to tv show or game theories! Thanks for answering my comment and I would love if you'd mention the theory if you do a part 2!
I think we're overlooking the fact that there's definitely gotta be consequences to bringing someone back from the dead. Especially in a show based on mythology, I wouldn't be surprised if we found out in the upcoming season that macaque is weakened or dying even because he isn't even supposed to be alive. It could make for an interesting character arc and would explain why he's always running off. The white fur could just be a sign of this. It's also worth mentioning the animators are very detail oriented, from the fact that macaque keeps people on his left because of his blindness to the foreshadowing of mks monkey form through the opening sequence where you can actually spot his shadow has a tail. So I wouldn't be surprised if the tail was in fact white and not a lighting issue.
That would indeed be an interesting arc! And you got a very good point. It wouldn't make sense if you can JUST bring someone back from the dead. Whether that price has been paid or not, it would make sense that there's at least is one
It makes sense that he is somehow weakened due to being resurrected. In the JTTW book, he is described to be of equal strength to Wukong (I don’t really remember the book, but I’m pretty sure it said that) and in the show he is visibly struggling against him when in the book, he is said to of fought him to the heavens and hell. Edit: I just realized he could be further weakened by his continuous glamours. Using up his magic to keep up the glamours could hold him back a few.
I think the reason his fur is black is because of his shadow magic. In the old show you referenced, his fur gets darker the more shadow magic he used. His or maybe he didn’t want to be constantly reminded of his past and decided to cover it all up with glamour.
Ohhh, it does? Well in that case it certainly adds to that theory!! I can't quite remember if I knew about it while making this video, but I have heard something a lot like your theory by now, actually! My friend even has an AU where Macaque's fur started out white, but became black as he got/used shadow powers!! If it even does so in the show I referenced it would certainly add to it!! (haven't seen the whole series, so I didn't know why his fur turned darker in that show, but that certainly is good to know- Thank you for sharing it!!
Honestly, I don't think his tail turned white, I bet it was a color change from the lighting. Not against the White Fur Macaque theory, I know it's true that animators can take references from old shows, but also one of the themes of this show is to create a new legend and a new story, so I doubt they'll do that. And honestly, no offense, I get the feeling that many fans "want" a white-furred Macaque, out of nostalgia for the old show.
Of course, that your opinion 👍 But I do stand by I don't think it was a change of light. Though, even though I don't think that, I'm still not sure if he actually have white fur. Considering we don't have Any solid proof. Didn't know a lot of fans wanted it because of nostalgia, but I suppose that makes sense. Actually, I'm not sure which I prefer: Black or white fur. But I do think it's really interesting, he might had white fur! Why did it change? And so on. Thanks for saying you honest opinion, I appreciate that 👍
My person HC (which I got from someone else) is that his fur is black when he has all his Mana (magic or power) but if he loses mana then his fur goes white. I believe he was fighting Tang he may have lost some Mana before quickly regaining it. But thats not a theroy- just HC 😅 SEASON 4 SPOILERS DOWN BELOW! . . . . . . . . In S4 episode 2 it actually shows him in the past hanging out with Wukong and the other sworn brothers. This scene seems to take place before the war with the celestial realm. Macaque's fur still seems to be black.
Interesting, reminds me a bit of how his glamour might be related to how much magic he used... Thanks for the warning 👍I did not read that part, I haven't seen season 4 yet. I'm waiting for the English dubbed, If I can make it.. 😅
I believe wukong also uses glamour to hide some things, like his red sclera, eyebrow scar and probably also little white parts of fur? It would be a twist to see if he indeed got rid of the fillet or if he still has it on but covered it with glamour
@@tw1xts I think I have heard about that theory before about Wukong also using glamour. I can't say I think it's likely, but it is quite interesting! I'll give you that. Though, I'm quite curious where this theory came from? I mean we all know where the theory about Macaque using glamour started. But I have no idea where this one came from. Is it simply because Macaque is using glamour, and they have a shared past??
I guess if he really hides his ears and white fur, and naturally hides his scar and blind eye, then I guess he hates his appearance, that's why he hides them. Even though everyone knew this. I will add that if this is the light on the Macaque's tail, then need to look where the light falls on his tail. See also if there is a yellow color on the tail (well, or another color). Only it seems to me that the light somehow unnaturally falls on the tail, and the tail looks quite white, albeit slightly yellowish. I'm currently reviewing the footage of this moment and it seems to me that it is more likely not light. Then the shoes and pants will be the same color as the tail. After all, they are the same color, but the coat of the Macaque is a little darker.
Yeah, That's excactly one of the reasons I don't think it's the light who caused his tail to be white at that moment. I think I discussed it, just with another photo as an example, (you can see the photo I used to compare with here: 1:48) in another comment someplace here. If you look close at the photo, from for examble 0:27 in this video. You can even see a lighter stripe on top of his tail, which is on both the white part, as well as the black part of his tail. And that is definitely caused by light. I find it stange they would put two layers at light in this way, if the white of his tail is also caused by light.
Of course his original for a color is White, and it actually takes a lot more energy to hide white fur than it is to a scar on his eye. So if any of his glamour's are going to disappear it would be the smaller ones first, basically the ones that don't take much. And as far as the reason why he hides his white fur I already know the reason that, but I will not spoil it for others. If anyone else wants to know the real reason can ask me, but I suggest you look into the some of the other histories of the actual Monkey King along with the hidden facts that they don't give you these are the reasons why people who pay attention long enough actually figure out the small details that they don't give away.
Exactly! As I said, it probably takes a lot less magic to hide a scar or blind eye, than his whole fur color or six ears - Thanks for not spoiling anything 👍
@@michirioof5682 He is entire body is covered in scars just like his face, and only a few patches of his fur is still White. One theory is that his white fur was affected because of his Shadow magic. Another is that he hides his fur to fit in with the others cuz he was the only white one. A third is his fur was singed after Wukong left and the island was attacked by demons who set it on fire and while he was trying to help the others his patches of his fur was badly damaged and when he finally heard his friend was free he went to look for him only to see him being punished by the monk thus only for Wukong to say he deserved it. There are suitable hints in history of The Monkey King but none of them were ever precise in there story for the true story was lost in the many tales passed down it. It's like that exercise of telling somebody one thing and seeing if it'll come back to you in the correct words as you originally started with. But my guess is that he has a little bit of all of them mixed. This version of him would be he wanted to hide his original first color to be more normal in the past also not to be recognized, got singed a bit in the fire, hiding his scars and a little bit of shadow magic mixed in. We just have to see how Lego wants to tell their side of the story of macaque for like I said the true story was lost centuries ago and what little of the stories left has been passed down for centuries beyond it.
I think it might just be lighting because in the same frame you can seee tang’s hair turn fully into that similar yellowish grey/white color but I like the theory
Thanks 👍 I do wanna point out though that the place Tang's hair have that color, is that place on the hair, who usually shifts color because of light, most of the characters have that, in Wukong's and Macaque's case it is on their forehead, looks a bit like a flame to me. You can see it in that picture I used to comepare with 1:42, where the same spot of Tang's hair is a lot brighter color that the rest of his hair. Like the spot on Macaque's head is too. But the spot on Macaque's tail don't usually shift like that because of light. If a place like that would change because of light, I think it's more likely it would be even more blurry in the edge, and don't shift in color so much, so suddenly. Like if you look at this again - 1:42 and then take a look at Macaque's hand, that definitely became Lighter because of the Light from Tang's magic. Sorry, the comment got a bit long, I couldn't help it.. 😅 You are also right, it COULD just be the lighting. We don't for sure, before anything is confirmed
I really do just think its a lighting error. This show, while gorgeous, is prone to coloring errors. Like, I don’t see theories about Macaque secretsly having two yellow sleaves or his black belt is really red. I like all the fan designs and its delightful fanon that hes hiding literally everything about his looks. But i really don't think there is enough to even grace it as a theroy. Im going Occam's Razor, think its just a lighting mistake.
Others have probably said this but... I don't think his tail is white, I think it's the light reflecting off the "bubble" Tang is in. It's the same shade of white and could be glow from it, and only stays white when in direct line of the bubble, not for the frame when hes facing tang while spinning through the air.
No worries, every body, has their own opinion. And yeah, some people have already asked, don't worry, you can say it anyway ofc, though I'm gonna copy one of my other answers more or less, since I still mean the same (and it's such a long comment to write all over again😅: I know it might just be the Light, but his tail isn't a place that usually shift color like that because of light, unlike the spot on his forehead - 1:42 (most characters have a spot like that on their hair.) So if his tail would shift color because of light I think the edge would be more blurry, forexample, if you look at his hand here - 1:42 That dosen't usually shift color because of light. Though here it's pretty clear it's white because of light, and it's a lot more blurry. If You look closely at the tail when it's white, 1:48 You might even see a Light Stripe caused by Light from the ring ON TOP of the white there already is there, but that might be streching it 😅 And about it only shows pretty shortly - if his tail really did turn white because he lost control of the glamour, then it would probably be right as he and Tang was casted up in the air, and he would likely quickly regain control again, after the explosion. To be honest I'm not even 100% sure myself if he really had white fur, But I'm sharing the possibilites as I said. I just don't think it's because of Light the tail was white right there , but that's only my opinion. You Guys could be right too, who knows, before anything is confirmed? I really hope we get a confirmation on his FULL real look in season 4!!
@@Lu-Zijing Yeah seeing how he looks would be really cool. The animation is really good but there have been lighting and animation errors before. It's way earlier in the show but I counted 4 errors in the one shot where macaque shows his scar (staff disappears at one angle and changes from red to dull magenta, MK's jacket changes color before the power is taken out, his eye stops being purple immediately and the blind eye looks yellow again. I can't see these as intentional)
@@purrpletiger2159I'm keepimg My statement, but you're right, you can't avoid some animation errors. I found one, where the monkey on MK jakcket is Macaque's evil smiling one, insted of the more friendly smiling one, and this is in season 2, after the episode from season 1 with Macaque. Where did his scar show by error? I don't think I know that One
Again, I apologize in advance for the bad mic. If I make more Theories out in the future, you never know ~ I should have a good mic for that time..Hopefully at least Feel free to state your theories and opinions in the comments!! Just remember to respect others opinions!
this is a great video! It's really interesting and has given me a lot to think about 👀 (also, maybe Macaque's fur slowly started to turn white because he was resurrected by Lady Bone Demon?) and thanks again for mentioning me! :)
No problem, Thanks for commenting again! You are that channel I mostly use to watch Monkie kids theories, you make a lot of good ones!! Hm yeah, that is a possibility, but why did it only show this one time then? And this exact one time? Was it purely coincidence? Or was it something else, as I discussed in the video.. There's a lot of questions. I'm really looking forward to the English-dubbed season 4..! Hopefully, we'll get some answers
I personally believe Macaque's Fur Colour is connected to his and Wukong's Relationship If the whole Sun and Moon Thing wasn't just a Metaphor but they're actually connected to their Powers then his Hair changing Colour makes perfect sense if it's connected to his Relationship with "The Sun" aka Wukong Like how the Moon gets casted in Shadow without the Sun's Light His Hair started turning more and more Black the worse their Relationship got He's just covering the remaining Spots of White Fur with Glamours to cover up the Fact that despite EVERYTHING, deep down he still cares about Wukong I also hc that he covers up his Ears, Scar and Eye cause he's insecure about them
I REALLY LOVE this idea!!! ✨✨ It would really match!! The fact that his fur was white as the moon, Illuminated by the sun. And when the sun's light began to disappear, so did the white fur color, and then ofc it would turn black! I love that headcanon! And I believe you could be right about the six ears too. It would explain why they were hidden in the flashbacks too
@@Lu-Zijing I think in the Flashbacks Macaque actually still had mostly White Hair But when he learned how to use Glamours and his Hair started turning Black, he just used Glamours to make it fully Black Cause I honestly believe he was very likely mistreated in the Past cause of his Six Ears and White Fur, since those are seen as Mutations and Animals in Nature do tend to mistreat and shun Animals with Features like that It also would explain why Macaque is a People Pleaser in the Flashbacks, since that's a Trauma Responds from Childhood
Hear me out, what if his shadow magic is a death curse in a way? Kinda like the death omen of a black dog. I'm a myth lover, so I've realized that shadow magic is usually reserved for the Underworld. Not like just the death deities, but the ones that control night & darkness also tend to live in the Underworld. So what if it was an omen in a way? (I also like to think he's just insecure about the other things. Plus, from my myth knowledge, glamours usually take a lot of energy. Unless you're a fae, which he obviously isn't.)
Myths you say? Cool! trust me I'm a fan of myths too✨ Mostly mythologies though (Sorry I first saw you message now😅 You're right shadows is definitely something that is almost always connected to something dark, the underworld, where he even was. So do you mean to say he may got his powers as a curse while he was in the underworld, in other words he died. And when he was brought back, the curse was still there? It sounds reasonable. Then it would mean he doesn't have white fur, but black is his natural color, (which ofc is possible.) since we at least know he had black fur in the moments before he died. If he first got shadow powers when he died, it would mean it isn't them who is coloring his fur. There could be other reasons to as to why his fur would be colored though. But yeah, was that what you meant?
@@Lu-Zijing I meant more along the lines of his fur turning black was a sign that he was going to die. But I like the idea of him colouring it himself more. 😅
@@fangirl38 ahhh😅 interesting🤔 But there are some things that doesn't add up. When he was killed by Wukong, his fur was already black, if we're to believe that flashback Lady Bone Demon showed Macaque. Glad you like my theory! Your's quite interesting as well! It's a total new aspect of the theory I haven't heard before, and if it wasn't for that flashback, I would have believed it to be much more likely
In term of his fur changing color AFTER the betrayal, (7:38) We see Macaque (both in mythology and in the show) referred to more of less of a 'rip-off' which insinuates he's SIMILAR to Wukong, but not the same, (This doesn't make sense rn) but he's more of less of a 'moon' to SUN Wukong, meaning without the suns light, the moon turns BLACK!
YES. The theory about Macaque being the moon to Sun Wukong's sun, and therefore turning black when the moon lost its sun, I am ABSOLOUTLY fan of this to this date.✨✨✨ ( and yes, in THE shadowplay I agree, and then again, because it clearly shows Sun Wukong (the circlet and all you said) but the thing is Macaque is saying: The legendary warrior, WHILE that picture shows up, obviously talking about that. It has always confused me, But I suppose the most likely thing, is that it was Wukong on the screen and he just referred to him as the warrior that once... But still, it even sounds like Macaque's scream when the figure backs down. But well, no matter what, even if that was Wukong, there's still the flashback LBD showed, where - without a doubt Macaque - looks like he's consumed by shadows as well, at least hold back
It's way too specific to be an animation error. Actually, if you look closely you can lightly see a fade between the black and white, if faint but its seemingly there. And honestly I wouldn't be shocked seeing as the type of monkey Macaque is, well a macaque, and most of them seem to be white if you search up pictures of the macaque breed, you'll notice most of them seem to be white, although this depends on breed as the crested macaque seems to primarily have black fur(l did a very brief google search on this so uh- yeah I guess, you guys have a good day)
Exactly why I thought it's not very likely to be an animation error!!! It's literally more or less what I thought.! It seems we see quite the eye to eye on this my good fellow UA-camr~((sorry I answered so late, haven't been checking up on comments in quite some time.. I hope you have a good day too-!

2009 macaque is the first idea of six ear being a real character apart of wukong's double, and also a friend of his. In the novel, it's clear that six ear is a double of wukong mind and it's something that goes with chinese culture
Uhhh- I didn't know 2009 was the first time he appeared an an individual character, and being friends with Wukong! That was what you meant I suppose? And yes, you're correct, the Six-eared Macaque in Journey to the west was in fact Wukong's "dark side", his double if you want. That I admit. But that doesn't mean Macaque in LMK have to be. (I'm not sure if you even implied that, but yeah-😅 In any case. First of all: LMK could simply have chosen to change that. But there's also the fact that there another character from JTTW that not as many know of. In jttw Wukong got six sworn brothers, they are called: The Seven Great Sages. (google it if you want~!) Characters from lmk such as: DBK, Azure Lion, Peng and Yellowtusk, all strongly resemple some of the sworn brothers Wukong had in JTTW! (One of them is literally called: Bull Demon King (牛魔王, Niú Mó Wáng)) And among these six sworn brothers of Wukong, there is also one named: The Macaque King (獼猴王, Míhóu Wáng) Not to be mistaken as the Six-eared Macaque! They are two different characters in JTTW! And what I mean to say by this is that MAYBE! LMK based the Six-eared Macaque we know from the lmk series on BOTH these characters from Journey to the West! Both the Macaque king, and the Six-eared Macaque! It would match really well, as in lmk, both: DBK, Azure Lion, Peng, Yellowtusk, Macaque, and Wukong are known as sworn brothers! Just like the Seven Great Sages from JTTW! They only miss one, and I'm really curious if LMK really does come up with the seventh, or if they just goes with six🤔 And yeah, Imagine: Macaque from LMK being based of the Macaque king who was Wukong's Sworn Brother in jttw, AND being based of The-six eared Macaque from jttw who was Wukong's evil side. Doesn't that sound pretty, likeble~? But well! This is my theory, I hope it was of interest! If you wanna know more about the Seven Great Sages, here's a list over them to start with: record-of-ragnarok-fanon.fandom.com/wiki/Seven_Great_Sages Then you can see why they match the sworn brothers we know in LMK so well~

@@Lu-Zijing i really hate ytb, fourth time i'm trying to write. So i was saying that yes, lmk entire inspiration of six ear was on monkey king 2009, when six ear had white fur and got dark fur when he turned evil. There is no further story in the past about six ear being an individual character. All of it, the changes of adaptation is something that adaptation's has the right to do. The shadowpeach ship too is something you can do but it belong only to the lmk fandom because there is people who really think that shadowpeach can be canonized and it mess with wukong's whole personality. The theory about six ear being one of the seven sworn brother of wukong is really popular, but thought years of research, we conclued that it might not be the case, there is still people who support that theory because of lmk, which is pretty immature if i might say. Six ear being wukong's lover or friend is something that belong to lmk, the lmk fandom and the monkey king 2009, but it should not be messed with the original jttw where wukong is notjing like depiction lmk made of him. This article has gather all information about six ear in the original journeytothewestresearch.com/tag/macaque/. So yeah lmk's six ear can be what he is right rn, i did not imply he have to be the double but i wanted to say that if you wanted to make further research on six ear lmk, it's only on the 2009 serie or lmk story since they are the one who made up the changes, and the canon story does not imply things like that. You still can learn the original book to make your own new interpretation tho

I hope that you still read in time, according to the original journey to the west book, Wukong killed Maqauce because Maqauce impersonated Wukong to lead his army of monkeys to war. It was revealed by a diety that Maqauce was one of the four primates, however Wukong being Wukong killed the six eared Maqauce without a second thought... Yeah, I was quite sad when I read it... Thank you very much for letting me know though! I can defintely use the information and plan to do so. I have actually already done some researchon this very topic: LEGO defintly changed it, we know that now at least. But a less known fact is that there was another Macaque in the original book. All the way back when Wukong was still playing around on Flower Fruit Mountain, (though still after he became immortal) he had six sworn brothers. They were seven sworn brothers altogether. Known as the Seven Sages. They were all Demon Kings. And one of these sworn brothers was also a Macaque, known as "Macaque Spirit King" NOT to be mistaken with the Six-eared Macaque from JTTW. If you want to know more about them, try google "JTTW Seven Sages" or maybe "JTTW Wukong's fraternity" DBK was also one of the sworn brothers, And I think its very likely, Peng, Yellowtusk and Azure all are characters based on some on these Seven Sages too. Ans so, I think It's very possible the Monkie Kid series, made the Macaque we know from LMK inspired by a mix of BOTH "The Six-eared Macaue" And the "Macaque Spirit King" From Journey To The West. Damn.... I could make a whole analysis/theory out of this alone 😅
@@Lu-Zijing , I only read the original book but that other one you mentioned is worth checking out. there were some things in there that i didnt know so thanks for that Glad to know the info was helpful :D
I say his tail went white because as you said, the shadow abilities might have changed his fur colour, so since they were at the city of light, maybe he got too close to the light and the shadow temporarily went away.
In winter, macaque monkey's fur turns white- and at that time it was around winter, or at least they were in a cold place, and naybe he hid his fur turning white because he prefers the aesthetic of black fur? Or maybe ite the theory? OR his fur is turning ehite due to stress?
That could be fun!! It adds to the AUs where he comes from a snowy and cold place while Wukong's comes from the tropic Flower Fruit Mountain!! But about the stress thing, I think it would be likely! Actually the most popular comment on this video is about exactly that! About how: if his fur really turned white because of a reason like that, he would likely see it as a sign of weakness and hide it. I really believe it is SO like his character to do something like this. Which is why I am quite fond of that theory
what if macaque''s powers work like venom were his powers aren't his own but shares it with some other identity, a mind of its own, which corrupted macaque and consuming him like without context at the flashback on 6:48 it looks like lbd freed him form being consumed form his shadow power like idk probably he sold his soul to the shadow realm for power or somethin
Yeah you're right the shadows surounding him as I mentioned, actually dissapear more or less there, but If this is the case and LBD did freed him, why does he still have Black fur? Well maybe she didn't free him completely, or there were some after effects/consequenses for what he did..🤔
@@Lu-Zijing I do think that macaque still has that sneaky shadow being on his fur I mean LBD would make macaque keep some of the shadows, her only limiting some of his powers making himself still useful and having it as blackmail sorta thing that if he fails LBD will return his powers and the shadows will eat him alive again (making himself a ticking time bomb) and since his powers is limited macaque needed to steal mk's powers as a substitute and possibly increasing the glamor to hid the scar, blind eye, and ears but not his fur because that's the shadow playing as a blanket unless its pulled by something but come to think about it the samadhi fire didn't free him from the shadows like LBD's curse, so he is one with them or idk 😔😔😔
@@avocado5810 Describing it as a blanket of shadows, I like that, and it was exactly what I was talking about. Though I'm not sure about LBD using it to blackmail him, it is a possibility, that's for sure, and I think you're onto something with the shadow powers consuming him. As I mentioned, if he did not always have these power, he probably got them in connection to the betrayal, then, they layed down over his fur as a blanket of shadows. (white is easy to color, espeacially with Black). And that moment the blanket was removed a bit, for unknown reasons. When LBD threatens him, she said "I will erease the very memory of you" I mean I suppose that could be the shadow powers she would use to do that as you said, but she also said the same thing to Wukong. So it dosn't add completely up. And yeah, there's also the moment with the Samadhi fire, where he's breaking free from her, I actually mentioned that in my other theory. But yeah, if his shadow powers, were a sort of curse, then it is weird they didn't got blasted out too, maybe they have indeed become a part of him, or at least were INSIDE of him, and that blast from the samadhi fire didn't reached inside of him? While LBD's powers were literally on the outside of him, at least some of them, they hadn't reached that the same point..
This doesn’t really cover his white fur, but I think his eye and scar might have stayed more with his demon (or whatever it is) and his death. My thought was maybe part of him died or stayed in the underworld when he was brought back to the mortal plan, and that part manifests around his eye as some demon. It sounds cheesy and a stretch, but considering that the wraps he was brought down with in the flashback are the same purple wrappings, and the blind eye of his demon is the only part that’s connected to Macaque (seen when MK hits his demon in the eye and it’s the only time Macaque shows pain from his demon being harmed), I think there might be something there. He still might me covering the scar up, seeing that he had the scar when LBD was showing him the key when he was still “dead” (and how after the scene when his demon is hit in the eye it doesn’t show Macaques eyes at all), but he didn’t have the blind eye, and the only time the two of them are seen together is when it’s not even Macaque, but his demon taking form of him. It’s also possible the scar went away when he was brought back to the mortal realm. I would definitely like to see more about this in the next season, cause his character just has a lot of mystery surrounding it atm in the lmk universe. TLDR: Macaques demon is connected to Macaque thought it’s blind eye, and it’s purple wraps look like the same as the ones that brought Macaque to the underworld. Since the only times we see the scar are either on Macaque when he was “dead” or his demon (or character sketches),I think that it’s possible that his scar is kinda left with a dead part of himself or something and that’s why it doesn’t show on his living self. This still leaves question as to why it didn’t show his eyes after the scene where my stabs his demons eye in season 3, however. My theory that comes from this is hella botched obviously, and not really one I hold strongly to at all, but it think the information that it comes from is pretty important to the story behind it. Pretty cool if you read that all, sorry for the wordiness lol
(I think fans usually call it "smoke monster"(the one you called "his demon") ...I think😅) It's some interesting aspects of the theory you have there! And trust me, the fact that his smoke monster has the same bandages as the ones he was killed/pulled to the underworld with, is a REALLY good question! Me and a couple of people on Twitter has this theory that it wasn't Wukong who killed Macaque, but Macaque's powers somehow went out of control, and ended up killing him. (if you want to hear more details about this, just ask! Right now I will continue here) And if our theory is correct, or at least some aspect of it. It would explain why his smoke monster/demon look like those shadow bonds. Macaque is making the smoke monster with his powers as far as I know. And if it also was his powers that ended up killing him. Then it makes sense they look the same. And about that scar. I never thought of this as an possibility, I'll give you that! But you're missing some quite impotent details First off, the flashback where we saw his scar, and you said, Macaque was still dead while we saw it. It think it's more likely he was just brought back at that moment. Probably therefore he wasn't hiding it yet. I'm thinking that because, before that frame. Macaque was being dragged to the underworld. Then LBD shows up, there's light everywhere, and all the shadow disappears. (I think you know what frame I'm referring to) Doesn't it seem more likely that that was when he was brought back? Well, I could be wrong. So let's look at the other thing. We have indeed seen his scar another time, where I'm sure he was alive. In the episode "Macaque" where we were first introduced to him. He shows MK both his blind eye AND scar. I don't think you mentioned it? Sorry if you did😅
I would LOVE TO!!! And it certanly helps the motivation that I know there someone who could be interested.✨ Thank you very much for letting me know. I will remember your comment. I defintely want to make something about Macaque's and Wukong's backstory once we get more information!!! I have heard many people thinks we will get more bacstory too! To be honest I think im one of them, it would make sense considering the S4 finale ((And I just really hope it!!!
His tail didnt turn white If you look not even a centimeter to the right, his boots, which use the same color value as his fur, have the same white from the lighting. His fur isnt changing color its just being hit by light.
Fair point - I just feel like the light is very off on his tail, (like how the white on his tail changes so suddenly from white to black, while the lighting is more fading on his boots) and seems more like natural lighting on his boots But perhaps it's just me. Of course it could just be they placed the angles of the light, in a little off way, by mistake, which resulted in me making this video😂😅
I know I’m late for this vid, but where you can see the tail turn white, there is a ( FREAKING) highlight on the white part, showing that this is indeed a clue or sm. Idk but that’s what my goofy ahh mind thinks.
I’m late, it what if tangs power has something to do with un corrupting? He wiped away all of the bone deamons ice. Is it a stretch to say he can heal and un corrupt
I don't think it's a stretch to say Tang's powers can have something to do with healing, (therefore uncorupting is not unlikely either) That's exactly why I think it would be likely, that if Macaque's glamour, shadow powers or whatever it could be. Was indeed effected by something ELSE than himself and his control, Tang's powers would be the most likely thing that was present at the moment
I think every debate in this comment section could be correct because in JTTW Macaque’s appearance wasn’t described at all. The only thing the author described about him was his war form-which did change so that it would match his powers within the show, as he originally had three heads in his war form (each sharing a set of ears I assume)-but that was just to emphasize what Sun WuKong was fighting against. I don’t think the author even said if he was a monkey. They just described him as one of the 4 unidentified immortals, which means he could really be any ape. But I guess it’s different in LMK, where the director could push really any design for his character.
Interesting! I never heard of his "war form" before! Is it mentioned in the book? And yeah, you're probably right about that, LEGO Monkie Kid could make most designs work for him. Especially, if it was never precisely described in the book
@@Lu-Zijing yes, the war form is mentioned in the book. Actually, I believe the very first time MK meets Macaque in the city is where we see his war form in LMK. It’s the giant purple “demon” that Macaque is often controlling. (You can also tell it’s him because the right eye on it’s face is an X, and I believe the reason why his “monkey form” is present while it’s on screen is just to make him look cool.) Edit: after looking through, you actually show it in your video a couple of times. This is the best shot I could find just skipping through to see if I missed something: 2:55
@@artsloth254 I see! Thank you✨ And yeah, that sounds posseble! I will look forward to reaching that point in the book and learn more! (I am reading the book at the moment)
Yeah, I know it might just be the Light, but his tail isn't a place that usually shift color like that because of light, unlike the spot on his forehead - 1:42 (most characters have a spot like that on their hair.) So if his tail would shift color because of light I think the edge would be more blurry, forexample, if you look at his hand here - 1:42 That dosen't usually shift color because of light. Though here it's pretty clear it's white because of light, and it's a lot more blurry. If You look closely at the tail when it's white, 1:48 You might even see a Light Stripe caused by Light from the ring on TOP of the white there already is there, but that might be streching it 😅 You're right, I could just be wrong😶 And I'm not saying he necessarily have white fur, just that and why I don't think it's because of Light, but that's only my opinion
Hmm, Perhaps..🤔 But I can't see why his white fur would make people don't take him seriously. Unless it looked funny/silly on him? Or it was way too bright as you say. Still, that feels unlikely to me. Or perhaps were you thinking of it another way?
I have seen so many fancomics with this...!! Where did this headcanon come from- you say he had red eyes originally? Yeah I guess I should know that by now, that could definitely be the reason
In the few shots that you were showing you could actually see how to tell what color was slowly disappearing when he was moving away from the light. It is the lighting. You guys do not have sharp eyes
You got a point, didn't think about that. It could be it took a moment for the white color to show, and as so, also a few moments to dissapear. We don't know how his glamour/magic exactly works, so who knows. But I won't deny that it's definitely also possible it's the lighting, just drawn a bit differently than they usually do. Or perhaps the lighting was simply just much stronger than usual
I mean- It's possible. The monkey species: Macaque is generally naturally white as far as I know, but there are black macaques too. So he could, in theory, be a black Macaque who was an albino. That just seems overly complicated if he could just be a white Macaque. On the other hand, it would also make him quite unique, and could be a fun turn, so maybe?
@@Lu-Zijing I just remembered one stupid joke. 1- believe me, this is place changes people 2- really? And how? 1- I used to be white (I translated using Google)
Yeah, that's also a possible option for sure! I just have one thing to say about that possibility. Wukong must have regretted it later. You usually regret things you have done in anger. Since you didn't have any control over what happened, and something really terrible could have happned. Which it certainly did in this case.. (Or perhaps it is just me that really hopes he regretted it, Heh...
Uhhh, Hard question... Macaque must be my favorite character. I am a big fan of aniti-villains, (I think that's what it's called) People who turn from good to bad to hopefully good again. Or bad people who turns out, not to be so bad.. Yeah, I think you get me😅 But directly who is better.. You mean, As a character/person overall, right? There's clearly a big misunderstandment going on between them, (Before you say anything, I haven't seen season 4 yet, please don't spoil anything if you have.) I don't think Wukong would leave, even kill his friends for no good reason whatsoever, and whatever Macaque did, he probably did it as he felt betrayed by Wukong, because you know, he was left in the shadow. Wukong should have shown his friend he still cared, even if he got more power full, (I sincerely hope hope he did, again I haven't watch season 4 yet, if it's even revealed there) while Macaque probably shouldn't have done what he did, without first talking with Wukong first. Okay I don't know if he did, but If he didn't Right now, in my opinion, I don't think any of them is especially better than the other looking at this. It's kinda like this circle, where one did something, and then the other did something else. And I really hope they will fix it! Maybe in season 4..!! If not there, there better be another season!
@@Lu-Zijing I was wondering witch of them do you like better as a character ps since this show is somewhat of a sequel to jounry to the west how well do adopt the sorce material when they talk about it?
@@sueflewelling3657 You mean how well this show represents, how Wukong and Macaque are in Journey to the west? Or how well they talk about it in Monkie Kid?
Fun theory, i won't hate on it but ain't no way LMK Macaque relates to any other 2009 Macaque it only relates to the original JTTW btw not calling this theory bad i don't really hate it i give it like a 8/10
Well there is a chance that he is luier mihou if that is spelled so while i was watching the s4 i heard the character im not sayin so i will call him e so e was talking to a(another character) and e talked to mac and when the six eared macaque was said in chinese i heard liuer mihou so there may chance that he is the six eared white furred monke but hey THATS JUST A THEORY, A FILM THEORY
I forgot all about fixing that mistake, thanks.😅It is his Chinese name, that's why I also used that. But what do you mean by: six-eared white-furred monkey? Was it just something you called him? I mean the name doesn't have anything to do with his possible white fur, does it? It only means "Six-eared macaque" in English, right?? I'm pretty sure - (Thanks for not spoiling anything😊
@@Lu-Zijing i have trouble writing stuff so suffer but u do remember the old chinese show where sunwukong was friend with a six eared monke that rhe color of the fur is white or grey?
@@stardraws123 Well this whole video is just a theory. I don't think they're stupid, but ofc, some is more stupid or more likely than others. I appreciate you saying yours! And yeah, exactly - He has been seen with white fur before, That's why it's much more likely, and isn't just based on that specific scene, I talk about in the video. The show Monkie Kid could have taken inspiration from other shows and stories, like Monkey King 2009
RIP my mom's emails but I gotta know, how the frick does glamour even work? Like do you need an object, a spell, like can literally anyone who has a pinch of magic do it?? Where do I find such info!
That my friend, is a good question we're all wondering. 😅 Sadly I don't know where to find the information, if it has indeed been confirmed, but I will try and answer the best I can - You see, we don't directly know how it works. But the word, is just the perfect way to describe what he's doing. Because, glamour is a form of illusion. Usual used to make something "prettier" - Which for example is why one of the theories why Macaque is using "glamor" is because he don't like his natural appearance. I mean, some people don't like to show their scars. Back to the question. I don't know, but if you question about "can everyone who has a pinch of magic use/make glamour. " Comes from all the theories of Wukong, and I think even MK in some cases are using glamour. I can more or less assure you. Those theories, all come from Macaque. Macaque is the only character we know for sure is using some kind of "glamour". (the question in my video is exactly HOW much he is using glamour to hide) So, no. I don't think you just need a pinch of magic before being able to do this. I think you need the RIGHT kind of magic. (or object) - Keep in mind the is only my speculation, it would just really make sense to me if it worked this way: See it this way, Macaque's whole powersset, is more or less, based on shadows. And one of the things is doesn't seem too unlikely to connect with shadows, is illusions. Or to hide behind/in the shadows. So I feel like it makes good sense, that he, with shadow powers can do magic like this.it's just like people have different kind of magic who can do different things. Like one person can fly, and another can make illusions. It's different, but it's both magic. And on the other hand, yes it could also be posseble to think he has some kind of object who helps him do it. You know how many different artifacts there is in this universe. It wouldn't sursprise me, there is one with this kind of magic. But in my opinion I think it's more likely he's using his own powers. Of corse for example Wukong COULD be able to use glamour too, considering how many DIFFERENT powers he has. And the fact that Macaque's powers in some cases seems to be a shadow version of Wukong's powers. But there's nothing else that points toward that. I believe the theory only started because of his relationship with Macaque. (aand perhaps the fact, as I said, their powers is very similar in many cases.) - Eh, hope this satisfied you for now.😅 But please remember, not any of this is confirmed. It's only speculation and theories for now.
the whole thing about macaque having 6 ears is false, in the books macaque was never described as having 6 ears but the nickname “6 eared” was apparently derived from him being the third party in conversations.
OMG I JUST REALISED SOMETHING
what if macaque is an albino? pls hear me out
if his fur is white he still has the red marking, and what if he also decided to hide that he maybe has a different eye colour so noone thinks he is either posessed by something or an albino??
it would reason why he thinks his white fur is a weakness, and if he hides that because he is an albino it would only make sense that he also hides his true eye colour.
i know it would be a little stretch if we also start to consider him hiding his skin colour because it would be more pale and all that, but it isn't impossible.
Also, it would kind of more explain his empathy with tang (in the scene before his fur turned white), since he was the ''weakest'' in the group and didn't really feel validated. it really feels tang and macaque had a lot in common.)
I think he would hide his true eye colour either on the same ''layer'' as his fur, or it would be the next thing before that.
I'm gonna rewatch the scene where his fur turned white to check if maybe some of his skin turned a little bit more pale too (and also to check if it's just the lighting)
Ok, maybe i am just delusional, but i think his skin turned a little more pale, but it could actually just be the lighting.
(i really like his neutral chaotic vibe and now i wanna watch the show because of him (no, i do not simp -.-))
And i already know way to many theories and lore shit for the fact that i personally did only watch to s1 ep3 or ep4 yet.
@@sina3d51 ahhhh, Im so sorry I didn't see your comment..!! You probably have forgotten all about it, but I felt like I should answer still, as you directly asked me. Im really sorry, so here we go -
So.. Macaque being an albino, huh? That would be kinda a really fun aspect to explore, considering he's conected with shadows and darkness! (just like if his fur was just white😅))
I personally believe there is a little chance Macaque really has white fur. Especially since LMK seems to be inspired the monkey king 2009 series. And I guess, if his fur is white, then why not go all the way to being an albino?
I can see where you are coming from. But I'll have to say, im not so sure myself. I definitely agree that he could be hiding it because of the fact he sees it as a weakness (the whole start of this conservation 😅) but that could also be the case if he had just white fur, for whatever reason, (like if it turned white out of stress)
But yeah, if he's an albino his eyes and skin tone would likely be different too as you say.
AS we know, the only reason Wukong has golden eyes is - short said - because he was burned.
(like the brotherhood or something)
Well short said: I don't find it highly likely that he's an albino, but it would defintely be fun if he turned out to be!

I am really happy tho that you responded, and there were even one or two points i didn't even think of!
Weakness or regrets?
And so on.

Heheh. True, true. You got a point there
My person HC (which I got from someone else) is that his fur is black when he has all his Mana (magic or power) but if he loses mana then his fur goes white. I believe he was fighting Tang he may have lost some Mana before quickly regaining it. But thats not a theroy- just HC 😅

@@Lu-Zijing yeye! And competely fair I don't wanna spoil anything even if its not major ^^
@@Lu-Zijing most likely
Why does he hide his white fur :0?
@@michirioof5682
He is entire body is covered in scars just like his face, and only a few patches of his fur is still White.
Thanks 👍
I do wanna point out though that the place Tang's hair have that color, is that place on the hair, who usually shifts color because of light, most of the characters have that, in Wukong's and Macaque's case it is on their forehead, looks a bit like a flame to me.
You are also right, it COULD just be the lighting. We don't for sure, before anything is confirmed
@@Lu-Zijing lol love this yeah you might be right who knows it could be both lol
And yeah, some people have already asked, don't worry, you can say it anyway ofc, though I'm gonna copy one of my other answers more or less, since I still mean the same (and it's such a long comment to write all over again😅:
I know it might just be the Light, but his tail isn't a place that usually shift color like that because of light, unlike the spot on his forehead - 1:42 (most characters have a spot like that on their hair.)
So if his tail would shift color because of light I think the edge would be more blurry, forexample, if you look at his hand here - 1:42
That dosen't usually shift color because of light. Though here it's pretty clear it's white because of light, and it's a lot more blurry.
If You look closely at the tail when it's white, 1:48
You might even see a Light Stripe caused by Light from the ring ON TOP of the white there already is there, but that might be streching it 😅
And about it only shows pretty shortly - if his tail really did turn white because he lost control of the glamour, then it would probably be right as he and Tang was casted up in the air, and he would likely quickly regain control again, after the explosion.
@@Lu-Zijing Nah his scar didn't show by an error, it was just errors all from the same scene where he first shows his scar.

I personally believe Macaque's Fur Colour is connected to his and Wukong's Relationship
If the whole Sun and Moon Thing wasn't just a Metaphor but they're actually connected to their Powers then his Hair changing Colour makes perfect sense if it's connected to his Relationship with "The Sun" aka Wukong
Like how the Moon gets casted in Shadow without the Sun's Light
His Hair started turning more and more Black the worse their Relationship got
He's just covering the remaining Spots of White Fur with Glamours to cover up the Fact that despite EVERYTHING, deep down he still cares about Wukong
I also hc that he covers up his Ears, Scar and Eye cause he's insecure about them
I REALLY LOVE this idea!!! ✨✨
It would really match!! The fact that his fur was white as the moon, Illuminated by the sun. And when the sun's light began to disappear, so did the white fur color, and then ofc it would turn black! I love that headcanon! And I believe you could be right about the six ears too. It would explain why they were hidden in the flashbacks too
@@Lu-Zijing I think in the Flashbacks Macaque actually still had mostly White Hair
But when he learned how to use Glamours and his Hair started turning Black, he just used Glamours to make it fully Black
Cause I honestly believe he was very likely mistreated in the Past cause of his Six Ears and White Fur, since those are seen as Mutations and Animals in Nature do tend to mistreat and shun Animals with Features like that
It also would explain why Macaque is a People Pleaser in the Flashbacks, since that's a Trauma Responds from Childhood
Cool! trust me I'm a fan of myths too✨ Mostly mythologies though (Sorry I first saw you message now😅
You're right shadows is definitely something that is almost always connected to something dark, the underworld, where he even was.
YES. The theory about Macaque being the moon to Sun Wukong's sun, and therefore turning black when the moon lost its sun, I am ABSOLOUTLY fan of this to this date.✨✨✨
( and yes, in THE shadowplay I agree, and then again, because it clearly shows Sun Wukong (the circlet and all you said) but the thing is Macaque is saying: The legendary warrior, WHILE that picture shows up, obviously talking about that. It has always confused me, But I suppose the most likely thing, is that it was Wukong on the screen and he just referred to him as the warrior that once... But still, it even sounds like Macaque's scream when the figure backs down.
But well, no matter what, even if that was Wukong, there's still the flashback LBD showed, where - without a doubt Macaque - looks like he's consumed by shadows as well, at least hold back
9:12 Even the way his singing voice sounded so different in contrast to his speaking voice, caught me off guard. 😂
You don't say--!
(I'm not sure if you even implied that, but yeah-😅
In any case. First of all: LMK could simply have chosen to change that. But there's also the fact that there another character from JTTW that not as many know of.
In jttw Wukong got six sworn brothers, they are called: The Seven Great Sages.
(google it if you want~!)
Characters from lmk such as: DBK, Azure Lion, Peng and Yellowtusk, all strongly resemple some of the sworn brothers Wukong had in JTTW!
(One of them is literally called: Bull Demon King (牛魔王, Niú Mó Wáng))
And among these six sworn brothers of Wukong, there is also one named: The Macaque King (獼猴王, Míhóu Wáng)
Not to be mistaken as the Six-eared Macaque!
They only miss one, and I'm really curious if LMK really does come up with the seventh, or if they just goes with six🤔
And yeah, Imagine: Macaque from LMK being based of the Macaque king who was Wukong's Sworn Brother in jttw, AND being based of The-six eared Macaque from jttw who was Wukong's evil side. Doesn't that sound pretty, likeble~?
But well! This is my theory, I hope it was of interest!
If you wanna know more about the Seven Great Sages, here's a list over them to start with:
record-of-ragnarok-fanon.fandom.com/wiki/Seven_Great_Sages
Then you can see why they match the sworn brothers we know in LMK so well~
Did my comment make it throught ? I can't see it
@@Lu-Zijing i wrote twice a comment and i don't know if you can see two long comment or ytb deleted it, i can't write a third that will make me look dump

So yeah! neat that you wrote and asked me of I had seen it! I can check real quick if I really just missed it but I don't think so
I hope that you still read in time,
according to the original journey to the west book, Wukong killed Maqauce because Maqauce impersonated Wukong to lead his army of monkeys to war.
It was revealed by a diety that Maqauce was one of the four primates, however Wukong being Wukong killed the six eared Maqauce without a second thought...
This is the most information I could find on this subject and I hope you can use this in your future theory´s
(or maybe lego will change it in the show)
Yeah, I was quite sad when I read it... Thank you very much for letting me know though! I can defintely use the information and plan to do so. I have actually already done some researchon this very topic:
LEGO defintly changed it, we know that now at least.
If you want to know more about them, try google "JTTW Seven Sages" or maybe "JTTW Wukong's fraternity"
DBK was also one of the sworn brothers, And I think its very likely, Peng, Yellowtusk and Azure all are characters based on some on these Seven Sages too.

Glad to be of help myself!
I say his tail went white because as you said, the shadow abilities might have changed his fur colour, so since they were at the city of light, maybe he got too close to the light and the shadow temporarily went away.
Yes! As if the black fur color was on top of his natural, and only speficic things or powers can push it away
Which is why I am quite fond of that theory
what if macaque''s powers work like venom were his powers aren't his own but shares it with some other identity, a mind of its own, which corrupted macaque and consuming him
like without context at the flashback on 6:48 it looks like lbd freed him form being consumed form his shadow power
like idk probably he sold his soul to the shadow realm for power or somethin
Yeah you're right the shadows surounding him as I mentioned, actually dissapear more or less there, but If this is the case and LBD did freed him, why does he still have Black fur? Well maybe she didn't free him completely, or there were some after effects/consequenses for what he did..🤔
@@Lu-Zijing I do think that macaque still has that sneaky shadow being on his fur
I mean LBD would make macaque keep some of the shadows, her only limiting some of his powers making himself still useful and having it as blackmail sorta thing that if he fails LBD will return his powers and the shadows will eat him alive again (making himself a ticking time bomb) and since his powers is limited macaque needed to steal mk's powers as a substitute and possibly increasing the glamor to hid the scar, blind eye, and ears but not his fur because that's the shadow playing as a blanket unless its pulled by something
but come to think about it the samadhi fire didn't free him from the shadows like LBD's curse, so he is one with them or idk 😔😔😔
The real question is, why are we debating why an emo guy would use makeup?
Havent really watched a lot of the show, but this theory soynds freaking awesome!!!
(I think fans usually call it "smoke monster"(the one you called "his demon") ...I think😅)
It's some interesting aspects of the theory you have there!
Right now I will continue here)
And if our theory is correct, or at least some aspect of it.
But you're missing some quite impotent details
First off, the flashback where we saw his scar, and you said, Macaque was still dead while we saw it. It think it's more likely he was just brought back at that moment. Probably therefore he wasn't hiding it yet.
I'm thinking that because, before that frame. Macaque was being dragged to the underworld. Then LBD shows up, there's light everywhere, and all the shadow disappears. (I think you know what frame I'm referring to)
Doesn't it seem more likely that that was when he was brought back? Well, I could be wrong.
So let's look at the other thing. We have indeed seen his scar another time, where I'm sure he was alive. In the episode "Macaque" where we were first introduced to him. He shows MK both his blind eye AND scar. I don't think you mentioned it? Sorry if you did😅
No matter what, I definitely hope we get to see more of character soon too!
i don't think that his fur is actually white because the flashback of when Azure showed MK how they use to be Macaque's fur was black
The theory didn't age that well but it's fine theories are originally supposed to be guess something that is not seem possible
It doesn't rule out the possibility that he was hiding it back then too though :33 But truee, it does rule out some theories
could you make a new video after s 5 comes out? many people speculate it's gonna have more to do with the backstory of wukong and macaque
His tail didnt turn white
If you look not even a centimeter to the right, his boots, which use the same color value as his fur, have the same white from the lighting. His fur isnt changing color its just being hit by light.
Fair point - I just feel like the light is very off on his tail, (like how the white on his tail changes so suddenly from white to black, while the lighting is more fading on his boots) and seems more like natural lighting on his boots
But perhaps it's just me.
YES- THAT'S THE THING-- THAT WHY I KEEP DOUBTING IT BEING AN ANIMATION ERROR- or maybe we're just overthing this-( ̄▽ ̄)" BUT STILL
I’m late, it what if tangs power has something to do with un corrupting? He wiped away all of the bone deamons ice. Is it a stretch to say he can heal and un corrupt
I don't think it's a stretch to say Tang's powers can have something to do with healing, (therefore uncorupting is not unlikely either)
That's exactly why I think it would be likely, that if Macaque's glamour, shadow powers or whatever it could be. Was indeed effected by something ELSE than himself and his control, Tang's powers would be the most likely thing that was present at the moment
Great video, and really interesting theory!
(You can also tell it’s him because the right eye on it’s face is an X, and I believe the reason why his “monkey form” is present while it’s on screen is just to make him look cool.)
Edit: after looking through, you actually show it in your video a couple of times. This is the best shot I could find just skipping through to see if I missed something: 2:55
@@artsloth254 I see! Thank you✨ And yeah, that sounds posseble!
I will look forward to reaching that point in the book and learn more! (I am reading the book at the moment)
He cant be "any ape" hes macaque and that's a specific breed of monkey
season four completely breaks most of this theory, but watching this vid is still very entertaining
Hah, it's not like it has been proven that's true- but Thanks-!✨Really glad to hear that!!✨✨
Monkie kid Macaque Edit 😱😶👍🖤💜💛
I would assume its around 6 inches with a slight curve to it
What's are you talking about???? 😅😅😅
I mean there’s still light coming from the ring so….
Yeah, I know it might just be the Light, but his tail isn't a place that usually shift color like that because of light, unlike the spot on his forehead - 1:42 (most characters have a spot like that on their hair.)
You might even see a Light Stripe caused by Light from the ring on TOP of the white there already is there, but that might be streching it 😅
You're right, I could just be wrong😶 And I'm not saying he necessarily have white fur, just that and why I don't think it's because of Light, but that's only my opinion
Maqacues death was my the hands of wukong when he was discovered by buddha explaining the 4 primates the show did there own version of JOTW
Can i just say.. i like your voice
Beautiful ~~~
Really? You know, that makes me SO glad to hear!!! ✨✨ Thank you very much for commenting it, and letting me know!! 🌟
@@Lu-Zijing You're welcome. Thanks for your great content
Because of the light... Don't be over thinking 😂
Eeheheheheh---😅😅
I mean white fur macaque would be cut ei think he used glamour to make his fur black so others can take him seriously cause its too bright
Hmm, Perhaps..🤔
But I can't see why his white fur would make people don't take him seriously. Unless it looked funny/silly on him? Or it was way too bright as you say. Still, that feels unlikely to me.
Or perhaps were you thinking of it another way?
@@Lu-Zijing I mean him being a bad guy but then his fur will kind of make me wanna pet him
@@Poorly-explained-animated ahhhh, I see where you are comming from. Yes, perhaps he simply thinks black fur looks more intimidating
Wukong could also be using a disguise because he’s supposed to have red eyes
What if he's albino?
I mean- It's possible. The monkey species: Macaque is generally naturally white as far as I know, but there are black macaques too.
So he could, in theory, be a black Macaque who was an albino. That just seems overly complicated if he could just be a white Macaque. On the other hand, it would also make him quite unique, and could be a fun turn, so maybe?
Monkie Kid Macaque 😲😕😁👍💛
Я вспомнил одну шутку:
1: -поверь мне, это место меняет людей
2: -правда? И каким же образом?
1: -раньше я был белым.
I'm sorry..? I don't understand - I can't speak Russian
@@Lu-Zijing I just remembered one stupid joke.
1- believe me, this is place changes people
2- really? And how?
1- I used to be white
(I translated using Google)
@@Fru-fru._. damnn😆 it is quite stupid ((and sorry for the late answer😅 Haven't really been checking up on comments recently--
@@Lu-Zijing Nothing wrong)))
@@Fru-fru._. Glad to hear that!
Wukong killed him out of blind rage
Yeah, that's also a possible option for sure! I just have one thing to say about that possibility. Wukong must have regretted it later. You usually regret things you have done in anger. Since you didn't have any control over what happened, and something really terrible could have happned. Which it certainly did in this case.. (Or perhaps it is just me that really hopes he regretted it, Heh...
In JTTW yes but in LMK we dont know bc some thinks that happedn in JTTW didnt happend in LMK and vice versa
UHHH- Yes ofc!
great video is it ok if I ask you a question?
Sure!
@@Lu-Zijing ok who do you think is better wukong or macaque
Uhhh, Hard question...
Macaque must be my favorite character. I am a big fan of aniti-villains, (I think that's what it's called)
People who turn from good to bad to hopefully good again. Or bad people who turns out, not to be so bad.. Yeah, I think you get me😅
But directly who is better.. You mean, As a character/person overall, right? There's clearly a big misunderstandment going on between them, (Before you say anything, I haven't seen season 4 yet, please don't spoil anything if you have.)
I don't think Wukong would leave, even kill his friends for no good reason whatsoever, and whatever Macaque did, he probably did it as he felt betrayed by Wukong, because you know, he was left in the shadow.
Wukong should have shown his friend he still cared, even if he got more power full, (I sincerely hope hope he did, again I haven't watch season 4 yet, if it's even revealed there) while Macaque probably shouldn't have done what he did, without first talking with Wukong first. Okay I don't know if he did, but If he didn't
Right now, in my opinion, I don't think any of them is especially better than the other looking at this.
Yes, I believe you're talking about "Monkey King 2009" I mentioned it in the video
@@Lu-Zijing yep thats what im saying but still it is just a theory so i dunno if thats special
Sadly I don't know where to find the information, if it has indeed been confirmed, but I will try and answer the best I can -
You see, we don't directly know how it works.
(the question in my video is exactly HOW much he is using glamour to hide)
So, no. I don't think you just need a pinch of magic before being able to do this. I think you need the RIGHT kind of magic. (or object)
- Keep in mind the is only my speculation, it would just really make sense to me if it worked this way:
See it this way, Macaque's whole powersset, is more or less, based on shadows.
(aand perhaps the fact, as I said, their powers is very similar in many cases.)
- Eh, hope this satisfied you for now.😅
But please remember, not any of this is confirmed. It's only speculation and theories for now.
He got suck in a 🌳 on fire!!! and he got power from same one so that how he got he's you know!😅🌃
👇💜
Wait what? Did he get stuck into a tree on fire!!? When!? Why cant I remember that?? --Im sorry, I don't think I understand what you mean...? 😅
😮!?!?!
I know right!?
the whole thing about macaque having 6 ears is false, in the books macaque was never described as having 6 ears but the nickname “6 eared” was apparently derived from him being the third party in conversations.
Right I do remember something about it being more metaphorically. hahhh, sadly- would be cool if they made it literally in LMK
His eye's.. White 3:24
You mean.. in the flashback?? I can't quite figure out which scene you mean even with the timestap- 😅Or is it his blind eye you're talking about?
