@Blacklotus 4460 Personally, I'd rather save for a few years and get good work with minimal pain and scarring from someone who cares and gives me realistic goals than cheap out for a mediocre procedure. He also owns his own practice and is a bit of a celebrity doctor, so his pricing reflects that. There are also plenty of good doctors who are not as known and their prices will be lower.
Coming from a woman, I appreciate so much how he speaks about women’s bodies. It’s matter of fact, it’s science, it’s in no way sexualizing. This really helps women feel comfortable, and he does it without hesitation! I know it’s his profession, but still!

I just want to say about women's puberty, I have at least personally found that it seems that the medical definition of when and what should start when and how seems to be based off of the hormonal changes in young people in recent times ever since there have been more hormone disrupting chemicals in everyday life, not to mention growth hormones injected into beef and motherly hormones put into cattle for the milk. I know that me and my friends who were not exposed to conventional products, who had parents who were careful about what we consumed, ended up having a different pattern of when came at what time, and I know from my experience too, I did not start my period until long after my breasts finished developing. Also, I thought the general statistics used to be that breasts developed first. I remember even learning about puberty from BrainPOP as a kid, and it said breasts were the first thing to develop. I can attest that is true for a hormonally healthy child, and actually, budding starts one year before puberty actually hits. It seems to me that potentially this woman here in the video may have been exposed to a lot of hormonal disrupting chemicals, maybe even synthesized estrogens from food supply. There's a lot of those especially in conventional dairy, and any meat from female cows that have been retired.

A dentist removing my wisdom tooth did a similar thing to me. He thought he was so funny (the 'joke' lasted about 10 seconds longer than the one on the clip), but the fear that jolted through my body took about an hour to subside. I was so shaken up. I can't understand doing that to a person. It's a cruel power play. Utterly unprofessional.
A doctor once did something similar while sewing a relatives fingers back on lol

I dated a surgeon and he said the most common cosmetic surgery he did was breast reduction. Not every woman wants gigantic breasts
yeah I kinda wish people would understand that having big breasts has much more cons than pros, only "pro" is that some people find them more attractive which definitely doesn't go against the back pain, pain when running & the potential health problems :(
Seriously. The back pain that comes with large breasts is something I never want to deal with.
@@천천히-n6u I'd say one other pro, depending on the size, is generally being able to fit into dresses. I had a friend who literally had nothing. And all these pretty dresses she wanted to wear were designed for a chest. She was itty bitty, but even the xxsmall had made room for a breasts. She either had to alter or go to a young teen section, which just wasnt the same. Even getting her to an A or B cup would have helped her just fill in a bit. I have massive breasts myself, I'd want to reduce. I think most people generally just want to feel confident when they put on clothes, more than when they take them off.
I personally have a pretty small size. Small enough to not really be suited for most dress styles. Somewhere in the A range barely a B if that. And i am so glad theres basicly 0 downsides to having a smaller size. Sure im not as "conventionally sexy" but i can still be cute.
@@ShinningCrys I think it looks cute and beautiful too!!! There isn't really a size that I don't think looks beautiful, the only time I feel concerned is when it inhibits health. But I certainly wouldn't blame someone for wanting just some extra padding.

My mother actually had to have a breast reduction at 13. I was told that she had about a 1lb removed from each breast and was a DD afterwards. I am so glad that I didn't inherit those genes.
I knew a tween with a size F. Here I am, past puberty and I can fit in a training bra 😬

I feel a bit bad for the doctor when he compared her to a tortoise because he meant it metaphorically and just wanted to be nice. I think he realised it himself that it sounded a bit bad and tried to salvage it later on.
It sounded like he was trying to relate to her a in a way... He knows how bad it must have been for her to have to try and hide her chest all the time... Itr ended up sounding a bit bad, but I really think he was well intentioned...
I agree, like he was trying to convey how she has to carry a burden around. I'm glad it seems like he helped her resolve the issue though.

I had a breast reduction last October. A surprising benefit was not having tension headaches anymore from the strain. The shoulder relief is amazing.

@@lofiwackpainting7439 yes, the scalp (especially on the lower parts around the neck) has muscles that can contract because of: stress, strain, etc. and when they contract it feels like a headache.
This is from experience and from what my doctor told me, I’m not an expert..
I had a reduction at 21. I had droopy painful Es. I was 21 and I had to fight for a reduction. I told my surgeon I wanted small to midsized Cs but my surgeon refused to go that small. He wouldn’t give me a reason why. He said if I wanted smaller, he would do it for free in two years time. They looked good but I felt they were still too big. I went back and he had retired and left no record of his promise. I ended up with D’s that regrew over the last few years to DDD’s that have gotten droopy again. I was never told they could regrow. I was never told I could lose skin sensation. My surgeon told me nothing of possible side affects. This video is the first time I’ve heard anything about live nipples etc. it’s so hard for me to exercise now and I’ve gained weight again after I lost 75 lbs to get the reduction in the first place. I’m so tired and angry and sad. I just want to have normal breasts.

When I was 4 years old, I had my lip split down half way down my chin. It's a long story, but the important bit is that if the hospital didn't have a resident plastic surgeon there at the time, I'd have been forever disfigured. Plastic Surgery isn't just for elective reasons, and Im happy this man understands this by trying to inform us that it should only be a last resort.
I’m an RN and have assisted plastic surgeons in the ER to repair facial lacerations on children. We use conscious sedation to keep the child very still so the edges can be carefully brought together. I also have had reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy and hand surgery done by a plastic surgeon. They are wonderful specialists.
Halle Berry had a plastic surgeon fix the scar on her face after her hit and run accident she caused back in 2000.

I've had my soft tissue sarcoma removed by a plastic surgeon. Nothing cosmetic, but a life saving cancer surgery :). Plastic surgery is such an interesting and broad field.
I got in a bad wreak and my mom didn’t even let the hospital touch me. We found a local plastic surgeon and she really did a great job! We stopped counting at 40 stitches in the right cheek and a little under 10 for the forehead. The doc had a wonderful vibe, dark room, very relaxed while she worked on me.
Poor girl, we can only imagine the bullying and back pain she'd been through

I get what he meant by she reminded him of a tortoise. she was trying to hide herself with her clothes, she was trying to retreat into herself and make herself small and unseen. This poor girl lacked confidence, she was probably in pain and extremely self conscious. I hope she feels more beautiful and confident now. She's truly gorgeous. She deserves a happy, full life.
Also you can see how badly her bras dug into her shoulders, creating huge indents. She looks so much more comfortable.

yeah he was rude, then he improvised the surgery and put her nipples at unnecessary risk + made a joke about her nipple being dead. My heart dropped when I heard that. What a moron!
I think he was trying to say that he sees that she is hiding. Her clothes are hiding her. He just did a really bad job at his comparison. I don’t think he was trying to be rude.
Just the fact that he made them more symmetrical is a win for me, I can't imagine how difficult is to have them in such different sizes.

Heavy, and you can never find a bra that fit.
I had really uneven breasts myself and it was always a huge struggle. Especially finding bras that could actually support them. So I avoided sports because I was always in pain. I had reduction surgery earlier this year and it was the best decision ever. I’m almost fully healed now and it’s also given me a lot more confidence in my body since the size difference was something I was always self conscious about.

2:01 this was me, I had a large reduction at 16, almost 17 (they has stopped growing for a year). I was 5'2, 130 lbs, a competitive dancer, a theatre student at an arts school, and I had 36FF breasts. I was that shell of a person, it was all that anyone knew about me. I hated having large breasts so I had them reduced and lifted to 36B. I have lost some weight since then (I'm 23 now) and they are at a 34B and I'm honestly so happy I did it. My quality of life is so much better, I was able to keep dancing without lasting back problems and I don't look wonky anymore

The turtle comparison was that she’s always trying to hide her breast with clothing-oversized. I didn’t see that as an insult
every time someone talks about how nonsymmetrical breasts are completely normal, it reminds me of when i was in high school maybe and my mother and sister realized that my breasts were not the same size and they literally scarred me emotionally for life for it by being so horrible about it for months and said it was due to bad posture (my shoulder blades were uneven too) and then proceeded to annoy me for months to sit like this and be like that and wear loose clothes and wear a scarf and what not. i felt so horrible until a few years later i found out that it was completely normal and as my breast size grew the difference became even less prominent.
it's really funny how they never took me to a doctor or asked anyone else and forbade me to tell anyone ever as if it was a shameful thing. After like a decade i found out that i actually also have scoliosis due to which my ribcage is tilted which would have made the shoulder blades look uneven and also made my size A breasts a bit more uneven than they were.
years later, now i love my body with my scoliosis and my birthmark (which my mother still pester me to hide even though i love it now) and my uneven breasts but now i can look back and see how much of the issues i thought i had in my body were just their toxic thoughts and ideals.
i wish we can normalize all the different types of bodies in media and teach young people about how we all come in different shapes and sizes and how it is all normal and beautiful so that no one can ever scare a child again into hating their body.
I'm sorry you went through that, especially from the people who are supposed to be most trusted with your vulnerability and maturation guidance. I had a similar experience from my pediatrician. It was time for my first physical and the pediatrician did not even do it- she had one of her office ladies do it. The lady accused me of being a lesbian because I was not interested in boys, then when she looked in my panties she recoiled with a gasp at my natural hair, snapping the elastic as she did so and stuttered shuffling out of the room. That was great for my 11-year-old self-esteem. I have never had a physical since. From that day on, my pediatrician would bully me saying things like, "Have you found a new doctor yet? We don't want you here," whenever I was alone and my mom belittled me as a "baby" for not wanting to be alone with the doctor. She was training a medical student at one point and even her student was shocked at her complete switch once my mom left the room. He left looking so guilty and sad. For context, you can have a pediatrician until 18 years old and I was hardly a pre-teen.

For anyone else who finds themselves in a similar situation, if any kind of doctor treats you like that or ignores your problems, it’s 100% your right to go somewhere else to find someone who will treat you with respect. Unfortunately, I know thats not always possible if doctors are in short supply in a certain area, but if possible, there’s no shame in looking for a new doctor. No one is in any way obligated to return to the same doctor of they fail to provide adequate service.
Sounds like my mom. I have an autoimmune disorder she calls me lazy and that I whine to much about pain to just suck it up. I try to explain the hormonal issues I have that gives me fatigue and muscular pain. She responds by saying I’m just obsessed with being sick and if I’m so sick there must be some magical pill I’m not taking. I literally have a doctors diagnosis.
Dude I have the same issue down to the scoliosis, it really blows. I'm sorry your family were so terrible, they have no idea what they're talking about. I admire your attitude, I'm not there yet but I'm working on it.
It was cool to hear your thoughts as a surgeon on teen breast reduction.
I'm just turning 16 and have had DDD cups since 13 and H cups since 14. My mom had a reduction so when I went through puberty we always talked about it as an option, and about 6 months ago we decided I'd get one. I can't walk up stairs or exercise and I have back pain and poor posture. I've talked to my family doctor and we are planning for next Summer to have it done.

I had a breast reduction and it was the best decision I ever made! Having excessively large breasts is not only a literal pain in the neck, they make it hard to dress yourself, and hinder you physically at times. I feel free now!

Its so interesting how women with small breasts want bigger ones and women with big ones want smaller breast.
@@stafonvoncamron because the ones with small ones don't feel attractive enough, as people tend to highlight breast size as a woman's main attractive points. As for us with the big ones, we know it's a pain in the ass. I can't fit into any clothing because mine are big. It hinders my ability to exercise too. I can't run because of how much they hurt when I try. Small ones look so cute in the kind of clothing I like and I'm so jealous.

Im lucky to have an auntie that’s a dairy farmer, she explained to me when I was 8 that no-ones breasts grow the same, she used her milk cows as examples! Thank you auntie for teaching me to love my body the way it is!

Glad to see that she's happy but hopefully her breasts don't grow after the surgery. Sometimes it happens and some women even get multiple breast reductions in their lifetimes. It's nice to see her improvement after waiting so long
I’m a small framed woman and my 34Fs dominate my body, everything with a zip or buttons has to be tailored to the girls. Wedding dress shopping was a nightmare as they add 3 dress sizes to the rest of my body. If the guys from botched could do a reduction Id be there 👍the thought of it going wrong- terrifying
I got a breast reduction in 2019. I can't recommend it enough - it's like being freed from your breast prison. Do some word-of-mouth research in your area to learn about good surgeons you could go to!
Ah, 34E here. I used to be a 34F. They shrunk slightly when I hit 30 for some reason. I feel you. All my blouses have tastefully hidden safety pins to keep them from popping open
@@alias201 yep I carry safety pins and a mini sewing kit because I’ve coughed and sneezed buttons off and popped a few zips before. Elasticated panels have become my best friend

I got a reduction in 2002, and it was so worth it. Even now, almost 20 years later, my boobs are perky, and the scars are almost non existent. The only downside is breastfeeding. If you plan on having kids and breastfeeding, the reduction can really mess up your milk ducts. I has major production issues with my son, but I'm still glad I got the reduction.
We had a friend at our school who had to undergo this surgery but ykw none of us bullied her it was all girls school our teachers even made us pray for her successful surgery at every assembly.

Ahhh... Not all the time... There's been a long list of people who have been misdiagnosed by doctors. (Mostly women) because they're diagnosed as "emotional" or simply given the wrong diagnosis. Women have died from cancer because their doctors didn't believe them. I think that the medical research that has been done and the scientific research that has been done is correct but I don't trust doctors. (It took me years to get my ADHD and Autism diagnosis because they would not believe me even though it was very obvious I has them.)
It took UA-cam for you to figure that out? Any idea how many years of college and training someone with an MD or PhD has (and most Ph.D. providers, like Psychologists, are in school longer than a MD)

I remember I had a friend who got breast reduction surgery her sophomore year. She was so much happier after the surgery and I was happy for her!

Can't wait to see this one. I had very asymmetrical breasts after 3 pregnancies. I had a reduction because I was a double G cup and very asymmetrical. I became a C cup, after a few years I lost quite a bit of weight, 80 pounds. I lost all my breast tissue and became less than an A cup. I basically wasn't even an A because I'd try wearing an A cup bra but my skin, which was all that was left, would droop out of an A cup bra. I kept the weight off and ended up getting implants to have breasts. Talk about crazy! I went from super huge to normal, to nothing and normal again.
Why not loose weight in the first place? Before you atempt to remove the eccess of fat by surgery

What a ride😅 Do you regret getting the reduction before losing weight and having to get implants? I am thinking of getting a reduction but considering putting in an effort to lose weight first, in case the girls become a comfortble size. The only problem is the fact that it's so painful to work out with my H cup breasts😫
@@kaiastorvik7414 yes, I know its difficult to do exercise when the girls are so big. I don't regret not losing the weight first because I really needed them lifted and there was about 8 years or so between the reduction and the implants. I didn't realize how much breast tissue I lost over the years so when I lost the weight basically I didn't have much tissue, it was just fat that I lost making them pretty much just skin. It would have been nice i guess if I lost the weight first but I just couldn't seem to do it. Since my kids are grown, I find it easier to watch what I eat. When they were little it always seemed I would snack too much or pick at food while I'm cooking. But now it's sooo much easier. I don't buy snacks or anything.

It's a beautiful thing to make someone's life better. I'm an Occupational Therapist and I have the privilege of making people's lives better, not as dramatically as a surgeon, but I do my part. Congratulations Doc!

@@leahcavagnaro3480 I'm not discouraging or encouraging, only my experience. I got my old COTA license in Massachusetts in '99 and there was no work available. I let it lapse yrs ago because I couldn't afford the renewal cost and never looked back. It's a shame because I enjoyed psychiatric OT and group work. I gave it my best. Good luck in your decision whichever it is. 🕊️

I went to high school with a girl who needed and had a breast reduction. She couldn't run, dive in a pool etc until after her surgery.

We do not know if she healed I.k. tho. My sis had one and it healed fine at age 66 but her tummy tuck was scary..took a longer time. She should not have done with a w! type II diabetes. She never was very fat. Not her fault. And only 2 kids.

@J H some fat women still have a lot of breast tissue. My breast size never dropped below E (European), even when I was starving myself. I only grew two cups after gaining back 20 kg due to not starving myself anymore
The liposuction looks SO rough! You mentioned possibly damaging tissue and that was honestly the first thing I thought watching it.

My cousin went through this had to have a breast reduction at a young age because it was not normal to have such large breasts at a young age. It was giving her a lot of physical problems. She's doing much better now tho.

@@whynot6266 no because then it would not be legal to get it done. A girl can start puberty as early as age 8 and you can only get the reduction surgery closer to when you are 18 in certain places. My cousin was on a long waiting list but had to be a bit older from when she did develop. Also 15 imo is still young.

One thing you really notice in these types of doctor surgery videos is that they come in kinda frumpy but leave looking physically better. They look that way IMO because they feel better about themselves. This is how doctors should work all the time.

I've also heard about them being used for other things, like frostbite. So I would guess it's thr hospital or maybe something like a bloodbank that has them
Nurse here. Yes, there actually is a leech dealer. Leeches latch on to the patient and inject a substance that keeps the blood flowing. I have used them with trauma patients who have had fingers, hands, etc reattached but the blood supply is not good. We receive them in a little plastic tub and keep them in the fridge. When the supply is running low, we call the “leech man“ and order more. They cannot be made sterile but are considered clean. To use, we carefully take one at a time out and gentle hold it to the surgery site until the leech attaches itself. It then feeds on the patient’s blood, injecting a substance that keeps the blood flowing. When the leech is done, it will drop off of the patient who then calls us to come get it. The leech is now considered medical waste and we have to put it in alcohol to kill it before we dispose of it. It took a while for me to get used to doing this, but it is amazing to see it work and the reattached part is saved!

So it’s not as weird as it sounds. The leeches don’t just suck blood- they help circulate it too. Doctors use them sparingly to get blood to what might turn into dead tissue. The amount of blood taken by the leeches is negligible compared to the benefits of getting blood flowing in that area. This is nothingggg like blood letting and using excessive leeches in the olden days lol

You might benefit from wearing a bustier or bras with a large enough "band" that it covers your ribs entirely to provide more support. Support should come almost entirely from the band and barely from the straps. There are a lot more options now a days different from a traditional corset. It might be a good option for women with very large, heavy breasts and I would consider it worth a try if it's too painful with normal bras

I'm only 70G (or 32DDD in american) and I have noticeable indents in my shoulders from bras because I was wearing bras that were too lose on the ribs for years since no one explained to me how they're supposed to fit (': and people still don't believe me when I tell them my band size because I'm slightly chubby

About the age thing: I have large breasts (about the size of this woman’s smaller breast), and I was *always* told that I had to be at minimum over the age of 25 to be sure that I was “done developing” and I had to be done having children.
I’m now 37 and have never had a reduction because my health insurance always has some excuse as to why I “don’t need” it. So I have back and shoulder damage that could have been dealt with and prevented when I was 18, but doctors refused to do it.
I’ve solved this problem by getting a functional (not a fashion) corset. It’s costly because it has to fit you correctly, but my back and shoulder pain is gone. No tightlacing either. I can breathe just fine.
My Mom had J’s her whole life until the age of 61 or so when she finally had a reduction. Through working out she (and you can too) help save your body from the woes of breast weight that results in back problems and more.
Hopefully this little tidbit can help you on your journey until you can get reduction.

@@hotjanuary I’ve thought about getting a corset. I just don’t know where to begin or where to go to get one. I have degenerative disc disease and severe fibromyalgia on top of the issues my boobs cause, so having more support in my back (without having a bulky, heavy, hot back brace) would help immensely.
@@Annie_Annie__ so I don’t know how fibromyalgia would be affected by a corset, but a quick google search says a lumbar corset is used for degenerative disc disease. If your doctor says it’s okay for your fibromyalgia to wear a corset, I would recommend a high backed strapless corset with lots of boning in the back, or a shoulder strapped stays.

I went down the sew it myself route. I bought plastic boning, spring steel boning, herringbone cotton tape, and the busk very cheaply on AliExpress. The fabric I bought locally online. Start with cotton canvas. Do your best to make the stitching accurate and live in it. Find out if there are any fit issues. If the design and measurements work for your body, then go ahead a buy the expensive cotton coutil fabric to make the final version. Cotton canvas is cheaper and a very good sturdy fabric, but I wouldn’t want to be wearing it in the summer. Also, make sure you wear a linen chemise underneath the corset in the summer. Linen is really great for keeping you cool and wicking away sweat.
Ditto with eyebrows being sisters. Comparing left and right sides, none of us is perfectly symmetrical.
Makes a face more interesting. We all have 2 faces. Hold a paper over one side then the orher. U will see-quite different. We also have a stronger side. I am L.handed and my R side is much weaker. Everything bad happens on my weaker side. Bumps, zits, dental prob.s... .

Yeah I feel the same way. He phrased it kinda weird in the beginning but imo the analogy was perfectly fine and made a lot of sense. I've compared myself to a turtle in a shell when i was really struggling with my eating disorder

My plastic surgeon said he got into plastic surgery because he liked seeing people happy, all the other specialities saw people on bad days in their lives or in pain.
