    Thanks for this great review. Can I put the camera on a gimbal if the cage is on?

      As long as your gimbal can handle the weight, absolutely. It's arguably even better with a cage because the mounting plate can be more secure

    Forgot to mention if you try put a Nato top handle on the top for Tilta, you can't. Because firstly the Tilta logo is in the way and even if you reverse the handle it still won't stay on tight because of the cold shoe being in the way.

      @Sky_633 not what I've found with the handles I have. It was a point I was going to bring up because the Tilta handle I have doesn't fit on the Smallrig low profile NATO rails, but the Smallrig NATO handles that I have work fine on the Tilta plate. I think it very much depends on the handle since for some reason there's some variation in the NATO mount

      @@Sky_633 if you have the first version of the Tilta you can unscrew the logo and put it upside down. But that won't fix the fact that that gap won't let you clamp on a nato rail handle. Unless it has a really wide clamp atea. I made the same observation as you

    The Falcam cage is also a really good option. So happy with it! Be sure to check that one out😊

    Is it possible to slide these into a DJI RSc2 Gimbal? I have always used a Half cage and seeing how these have a huge metal thing protecting the battery door, I cannot see how it can slide in and out easily. Yet the Tilta looks like you can make it a half cage if you unscrew those 2 little screws connecting the 2 halves? Or is that not possible? I see you answered that at the end, Thanks, that is a must for me on a gimbal, at least on my DJI RSC2 because the camera can oly slide in from the grip side and that is not going to work with the battery door bulge like it is.

    Love this! My only complaints with the small rig cage which do really I love, are that the HDMI cable clamp isn’t always aligned correctly, and mine pushes the HDMI cable upward before it is tightened all the way and it worries me that it will put to much upward pressure which is really annoying. I wish it had a height adjuster. Second is in that same side, I’d love if it extended forward a bit more and had more 1/4-20 holes so that even if you had the hdmi clamp on, you could still attach side handles etc on the upper side of the cage instead of having to lower the mount piece on my Falcam handle where it gets in the way of my pinky when running hdmi. Everything else is amazing about the small rig cage. Because of this though, the newer 8Sinn cage looks kind of appealing and I’d love to get my hands on it to test the more box cage style to see how I like it.

      @owenjenkinsofficial totally fair. I've never had that issue with the HDMI clamp but I definitely hear you about the NATO rail on the left being too short. The new Hawklock one from Smallrig might be better but I haven't tried it to know for sure

      @titan4260 Yeah I know, I have one. I really like the handle extension, makes it a lot more sturdy

    Not sure if the second version of the Tilta does this too but on my V1 you cannot securely mount a nato rail top handle on the top plate if you want it right in the middle. Tried it with several top handles and all wiggled a little. Also Tilta has a habit of having measurements off by a fraction of a mm and lots of times aren't compatible with other brands. That's why I changed to the smallrig cage, also as you mentioned, the HDMI clamp is just easier to use

      @HighlyAkicktive I noticed that issue with certain NATO clamps. The Tilta handle that came with this kit works fine, but the lightweight Smallrig handle which has the type of clamp where only the inner part moves, rather than the entire side of the clamp, doesn't work. That's another reason why I prefer the Smallrig one, and now, the new Hawklock one

    Does the Tilta hand strap work with the Smallrig cage?

      @pathless2576 yes it does
