hey man, great content that you have. thank you for sharing your knowledge about screen printing. I have a question or maybe some questions. can you do the cmyk screen printing with discharge ink? especially on black fabric?
Gigih Ikhsani that’s a GREAT question that I think a lot of of have given its popularity & the possibilities if that were possible I am assuming given how discharge & CMYK work independently that the answer would be no but I’m not certain.I have the same question and will be trying to look up some tutorial videos for the same question elsewhere. If I find something, I’ll try to find this comment and give u the link or the channel to try to help answer your question. Best of luck to u!
joel e hunt we used ultra seps just because I have had it so long and have always used it- I haven’t used accurip to much to print halftones because I haven’t taken the time to learn it...
Dunno if you found out yet but in photoshop you can go to the channels section next to the layers panel and then select the CMYK positives. Save those channels separately and make sure you add a half tone gradient to each otherwise shadows and highlights don't show well, after that you should have 4 positives for CMYK for printing
Learn How To Screen Print T-shirts I personally have been using Illustrator, working only in vector separations using spot colors. We’re looking into the potential of using either photoshop or illustrator to print full CMYK process separations. We’d be able to drastically increase our offerings, as currently if someone wants a CMYK image, we have to sublimate it on a 100% Polyester, White garment, only at sizes 8.5” x 11” max.
Daniel Mullins Yes it does look like it peaks out here and there- we will re-burn the screens before we print the order and choke the white underbase a pixel or two to get rid of the fringes.
Learn How To Screen Print T-shirts ok understood. That probably happened from dot gain on the underbase you think? Just curious for my own purposes. Thanks for the help.
Daniel Mullins - I don’t think it would be dot gain...we only printed 10 or so shirts so we shouldn’t of had a problem with dot gain after only doing that many shirts-....
Hi. Thanks for sharing informational videos. I'm interested in your technique for printing. You are pull flooding and very lightly pushing the ink. Is there any benefit to your method over pulling the ink? Or is that just printer preference? And you don't go much higher than 45 lpi on your 305s? Thanks again.
Kevin B I think printer preference yes correct. I like to push because it’s easier on the body. And we can go 65lpi on our 305’s but that’s as high as accurip will print halftones. I think some printers go as high as 81 lpi and higher
I see you have a exposure unit from ryonet. If you would use that exposure unit how long would it take to expose. I have one of those. I can't never get it to expose right. I do my seperation with acuurip 22.5 angle and 55 LPI on a 230 mesh. Any idea? I have try like 10 diff image and no luck

what was the second step? i mean what were you doing with the another machine after giving colors? and lastly where u put the white t shirt? was it for ironing? i mean you are using three machine in this video, what is the use of the next two?
Marzia Rahman hey thanks for watching and commenting! The second step- flash dryer is the dry the top layer of ink enough to lay down another coat- so the ink is opaque and holds enough color that the t-shirt color can’t be seen through the ink- and drying on layer of ink is sometimes necessary to lay another color on top or by that layer...so they don’t smear and the design stays crisp.
W E the different colors- which are yellow and white mesh- help with the burning- or exposing the screens- the yellow mesh- helps with not letting light refract around the mesh while exposing. So you are supposed to be able to hold halftones better- thank you for watching!

Lots of variables: type type, opacity of the ink, CMYK, autoline, maxopake, water base or plastisol, additives (if needed using a different ink), etc. best of luck to u. Hope that helps. 😄
No not really- to be able to print cmyk the dots have to land in the right spot on an even plane- and a halftone under base would throw it off I believe
