    You're one of the channels i got inspiration from to start my own custom shirt business, at the moment just been going a week with vinyl only (had 5 customers and 1 of them was a stranger :) and now i'm saving $1,200 usd to buy a 4 station screen press (buying things in New Zealand is hella expensive) keep up the great vids they're truly an inspiration.

    Use 305 Screens, also use a different print order. go with Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black.
    Also, if you add the black screen to the job, it will darken the center of the letters alot. Good luck

    Great content as always! If you back flood the screen after your stroke it helps it not to sludge up, and use emulsion hardener to prevent the screen from breaking down as fast

      the key to CMYK printing is the separations and don't forget to burn your screens on 355 mesh and use 90D squeegees

    Mist the ink with water after you use each color. Helps a ton and keeps it from turning into sludge. Just make sure it’s a salon grade mist nozzle.

    • @leestuart38

      Ya that's the only way I could keep it workable in between filming

    To reduce your ink on the T... try 1 flood stroke, 1 dry stroke. Also mist your screens with water. and look at water based retarder. You should jump to Discharge ink for a handful of dark coloured T's

  • @arnoldprints

    Curious to see it in halftones. The colors I presume mix better and mixed shows the effect you are looking for better. Let us know as a test. I’m curious about it. Those process inks I believe mix properly is why they make them for that.
    Great idea and video for sure.

    Great work and great channel! I spent a year trying to solely use water-based ink on my manual press and was constantly frustrated with inconsistencies and ink drying out. Switched back to plastisol and couldn't be happier.

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 років тому +1

      Thanks 🙏🏻 . I definitely prefer plastisol from a workflow standpoint, but the result of waterbased is pretty amazing and things are moving more in that direction these days. So I have to make sure I can be efficient with both

  • @nathanielcomer2621

    High humidity can help keep water based workable, but it's bad news for screen making. Definitely gonna look in to the warp dry! I havent attempted water based due to our flash and dryer. No forced air and they both use flat panels so I feel like moisture will cause issues. Awesome video man!

Also getting extra screens and leaving a few with your most popular images is a great idea. lol we literally have like 1000+ preburned screens so the are ready to go for reorders. hey man! i screen print by myself down in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, i´ve been watching ur videos and its great all u doing, love ur workshop!
    im bearly starting with the cmyk on plastisol cuz increses the range of designs...
    just wondering... what if u try a dot patern on the same design
    maybe that wil give the effect on the blue...
    i would of do only one paper stencil and brun the same one o the 4 screens, then just pull/push my registration that little bit
    (im doing my tests on 120 mesh)
    regards from Mexico bro! keep it up!

    What about adding one more screen of black on the top so then the glitch affect is behind the black

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 років тому

      The 3 colors mixing make black or at least very close to black, so the 4th screen would be redundant in this case

    • @leestuart38

      Normally it's used for stuff that would be impossible with spot colors...like printing a photo or designs with a ton of color. You'll need an emulsion that can handle waterbased ink, cryocoat or WBP are what I use
