1.50 etc is probably from the miner's strike in 1984 and 1985, maybe from the 'Battle of Orgreaves' which took place around the Orgreaves colliery and village in either South Yorkshire coalfield or maybe the West Yorkshire coalfield. It looks like plain clothes police as they charged the miners before kicking them and punching and generally attacking them.
