Rondo Island
Rondo is other outer island of Indonesia, it located in the Indian Ocean and adjacent to the territory of India, the Nicobar Islands. Rondo island is the northernmost territory of the Republic of Indonesia and is administratively a part of the town of Sabang, Aceh province.
Geographically, Pulau Rondo that located in the frontier regions of Republic of Indonesia is very strategic since it becomes an international shipping line. This waters that bordering India and Thailand is also has abundant marine wealth. Rondo island is administratively located in the Ujung Ba’u village, Sukakarya District, City of Sabang, Aceh Province, it is deserted and uninhabited.
The Straits of Malacca and Singapore are a 1,000-kilometer channel of water located between the Malay Peninsula and Singapore to the north, and Sumatra and other Indonesian islands to the south. Almost half of all global seaborne trade and roughly one third of the world’s crude oil passes through this route, making it one of the most important shipping lanes in the world. It is also a lifeline for Japan, with more than 80% of the country’s oil imports transported through the Straits.
At its narrowest, the channel tapers to just 600 meters, about the width of a single sea lane. At its shallowest, it is less than 25 meters deep. Despite these far-from-ideal conditions, more than 300 ships - including very large crude carriers (VLCCs) measuring more than 350 meters long, 60 meters wide, and with a draft of more than 20 meters - pass through the Straits every day.
Merchant navy has various departments & I am from the Navigation department. I have recently been promoted to the rank of a 2nd Officer onboard Maersk Ship.

Also for those who are new to the channel - I am Karanvir Singh Nayyar , a second officer in Maersk , vlogging my Life At Sea Journey.
So don't forget to hit that subscribe button & turn the bell notification on ;) if you wish to watch my life from the 7 oceans in the world.

Hi mate
The 360 off 431 Nautical miles of malacca strait was worst in 90s, in our time, now I believe everything is ok.
But still we are seafarers - Dare to.
Carry on mate, hats off to you videos.
Thank you for sharing that.
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar fore draft 7.18 sir😅

Thank you Ben

@@KaranvirSinghNayyar Yes, the editing is just first class. The whole look of the videos, the sound tracks, voice over, speaking to camera, showing information on screens, fast footage, text on the screen....it is so perfect I don't feel right saying "it is like something professional", it just IS professional.
Yes its so amazing that i am fully attracted to it 😀😀😀
Great stuff Karanvir , you explain all your actions and the working of the ship procedures so well . Thankyou. 👍
Thanks Luke
The best part of yours videos is that we can virtually see all the ports and new places sitting at home
So happy to read that

You make excellent videos, and I enjoy them very much. I'm sure seeing Emma brought back some fond memories! Stay safe!
Yes indeed
Alot of memories
Thank for sharing your story on board ship. When I saw the bridge equipment on your good vessel , i feel just like a yesterday. I started my cadet career at one Canadian based company , my first time to ride a plane to crew management office at Mumbai for pre joining training program, and get on board to a old Panamax container ship as a cadet experienced the old bridge equipment with no ECDIS , Furuno CRT monitor radar , even no engine telegraph printer, cadet do the engine printer jobs , ECDIS , Fleet boardband modem and new JRC radars were delivery when I going to sign off , time is passed over a decade.
My second cadet assignment was a 9600TEU container build at 2007 new ship at that time , the bridge equipments almost same as your ones, JRC Edcis , Kongsberg telegraph , even have a LORAN C 😂. This is the only one experienced I perform the Europe route passing west of the one fathom bank, the ship was switch to pacific route after dry docking, I never go westbound afterwards. Pirate was exist at Gulf of Aden , for the tankers and bulks may regroup as a convoy with naval warships, but to us , containers were the best escapers from those pirate power boats
bring them away of our visible range.🏎️
In nowadays I quit my deck officer job and stay ashore, I’m bringing a warm thank you to let me memories the old days , bring the experiences and knowledge into the internet and create a new era.
Forward draft is 7.2 m love u sir

I like u r video
Dear Karan, your videos are really awesome. My father became a seafarer way back in 1962, when he was 20 years old. He was a navigator just like you, not an engineer. He used to send me beautiful picture postcards from every country he visited. Back then, nobody knew of the internet because it wasn't invented. My fondest picture of my father is of him standing on the wing of the bridge while passing through Punta Arenas in the dead of winter. He never captained a container carrier. He spent most of his career captaining Crude and bulk carriers and OBOs, but mostly tankers. He loved tankers. I thank you for sharing these beautiful videos that give me a glimpse of a seafarer's life in a manner that my father couldn't because he didn't have the internet back then. There was no UA-cam. My father had to use a sat phone on the ship and the conversation had to be brief, Kudos to you for such lovely videos. I wish you all the best! May Lord Ganesh be with you in all your travels.
Firstly a big respect & Regards to your father. I can only imagine how tough life would have been back then.
Now we are connected and the communication problems have been solved.
Thank you for writing such a heartfelt comment, made my day ❤️
