And now, considering if Gustavo is also the one making the track for the upcoming Midland Ranch heist, which is set in Texas and thus is probably going to feature a western-like track, western.
The song has a more calm take on it, which I personally like. It's a change of pace, and an interesting one. Reminds me of Trouble Always Inbound and how peaceful the assault phase for that one was.
It sounds cool, but for me there's a lack of instruments in the assault phase. the first part of assault sounds like there was meant to be an electric guitar playing with it, but there isn't, so it feels like it misses that. The second part however, banger.
@@Kanakravaatti that’s true, the only thing I’ll be complaining about is that new players right now can no longer play as scarface if they didn’t buy it before
Holy hell! This is insanely good! Im a sucker for electronic music mixed with traditional chineese or japaneese instruments and this hits the bullseye! All in all, I love this track!
that piece where stealth breaks into control #1 gets me everytime, it sounds like you just walked into a room without looking, gaining a peak of 99% detection and getting away with it while dashing into uncharted territory that just so happened to have the objective in it alongside a bike's hitbox of valuables truly amazing
Payday is one of these very few game where every track is so unique and fantastic. Honestly, we are so spoiled by the soundtrack, and the fact that we are getting more of it is just the cherry on top. And Gustavo enters the club of "Jesus christ how Overkill keep finding these awesome composers?!"
I really liked this track. It fits the heist. Not to mention, the Heist is pretty good. Unique objectives, cool setting, decent map design with plenty of cover, I overall really enjoyed it.
The length of control is based on the difficulty. On normal you have hours of control whereas on DS, anticipation is all you hear. Its also based on the amount of hostages you have. Idk how much control time you gain by grabbing a civ but its always a boon to tie down as many civs before anticipation.
Las parte de sigilo un toque oriental , las de control se parecen a instrumentos chinos con toques arcades y el asalto ni que decir que hermoso, recordo a Tron XD.
Can't beat Left in the Cold, but I enjoy the music! Control #2 & #3 are a little on the weaker side, but Stealth, Control #1 and Assault are pretty nice
This reminds me of an angry version of Owl City - Fireflies (you would not believe your eyes if ten million fireflies thingy). I love the asian instruments being blended in though. It worked great with guitar before and it still does with whatever those are
From what I can tell, it'll pick one of the three to play during control phases. I'm not sure if it repeats when it's over or pick another one of the pieces. I'm not sure, but that's what i've been able to observe.
Wait, is this an actual heist in japan, like almost 5 years after Jiro was released? edit: just read the news thing on steam and the comments, thanks for reminding me i'm just retarded
Wow, all the build up for such an anticlimactic drop... at least it got a bit better afterwards but still, it could be better though, just feels a bit too simple and doesn't hit hard enough nor does it have the charm of the calmer songs already in the game
the assault part feels like the types of musics you would hear in arcades, at least for me
fits well with joy
Definitely feels like a sidescroller track
In a Tron movie*
@@danaerys9621 Both tbh
I would love to hear anticipation + assault in an announcement trailer of Sleeping Dogs 2! That'd be awesome!

oh hell yeah, trouble always inbound is very similar to this track in terms of pace
Yeah at first it was super underwhelming to me, but it's honestly nice to switch it up and have less intense tracks. Definitely grew on me fast.
idk why people are bitching about this track it sounds cool as hell

I guessed Gustavo would implement some theme-related instruments when he's making one for this heist and safe to say he did that well done.

Love how chill and laid back the control part is
All the new music has been excellent, living up to Viklund's legacy
Could be better, but I am a massive sucker for the whole "all but 1 sound cuts out for a few seconds" like at 8:30, so yea, nice.
I find it funny how there are multiple different Controls, and they last a while, yet Control in-game lasts like a minute at most

Gustavo really flexing how versatile he is with this one, he went from doing Mexican dubstep and electro to some oriental Chinese techno
I don’t mind it. It’s not great, but something like Deadeye would’ve been almost impossible to top anyway. I kinda like it.
Woah thx for recommending deadeye, i don't have an overview over the OST
God the Stealth music sounds really good, id honestly sit in this heist just listening to this
The guitar riff in Control 1 and 2 always gets me so pumped up
i feel like these later tracks are a lot more nuanced and have more dynamics. i for one absolutely love it. payday keeps delivering
Dragon is the Best heist ever ❤️
7:22 reminds me of gta’s casino heist update all retro and arcade style.
I can see that
Some parts reminds me Three Way Deal 2016
I think this music fits Joy as a character better than it fits the heist.
But Joy is japanese, and track & heist is chinese

I wonder why always Chinese based songs are called Rush Hour, where did this trend come from?

Less so the more oriental parts, but this song reminds me of HL2: Episode 2's soundtrack.
If the heist looks as good as the art then the music is excusable.

It would be nice if this soundtrack replace chinatown in katana zero
