I think this is the first video I've seen that actually gives you a sense of just how steep hell's gate is. Awesome POVs and nice climbing! That thing is a billy goat!
I did this with rear locker and MTS rock mode ( very minimal wheel slip if you watch my front tire that's in the air). A trac allows a lot of wheel slip and can be sketchy in situations like this I would not mess around with it personally
The FJ Cruiser was relying on just the stock a track and it was so bad we turned it off for a lot of situations. That system is particularly clunky with the manual. It needs a lot of throttle input and a lot of wheel speed before it starts working

Oh nice! I was wondering how it would do there. I have a 2.5" front and 3" rear lift on 33.4" tires and factory gears. Think my GX will do OK there?
Ineed a rear Locker for sure other than that it's all about Tire placement and proper speed
@@MudPuppyOffroad Hmmm...did you try things just with ATRACS and then do the locker? Was it frequent, or just hell's gate?

Are there no rear lockers in this GX?
This is running an Arb lockerin the rear, I've also fitted MTS. This was ARB rear locked MTS in rock mode. I now have an arb in the front as well
What's your lift and tire size?
275/65r18, 2.5" front and rear

Oh yes much easier I had lower gears and a front locker and that thing and significantly more Flex
My friend did it fine in his LX470, but he had the self-raising suspension.
I had to delete that junk suspension on my 470 this would be one hell of a place for it to blow an airbag LOL
