I can't understand how these videos do not have more views? They are so good to watch! What's more annoying is, i live about an hour and a half away from there and it's making me want to go!!! Thanks for all the videos, I've subscribed!
It turned in to a really great day, was very happy to be out in the fresh air again after having spent so much time at work lately :-) thanks for watching Paul
He certainly was a legend, it would have been interesting to see what Joy Division would have gone on to do if it hadn't ended so tragically. Thanks for watching
Very interesting Dean, I grew up in Congleton right next to Macc so we were all liked New Order/ Joy division, but I never knew where he lived and died, or where he was buried, very sad story, thanks for including my favourite pub! :) Tim
Thanks for watching Tim, Myself and Jay are relative newcomers to Joy Division etc and it was great to visit some locations. The story of Ian Curtis' life is such an interesting yet sad one, I can see why there is now two films telling the story (Control & 24 hr Party People). It was such an interesting era in music too which I'm fascinated by, I'm also a big fan of the Smiths. We had planned to go in the Cat & Fiddle for a drink after the walk but it was closed sadly :-) all the best mate
Wow! the guys a genius, loved them, Johnny marr, the very best, my daughter loves them 16 years old, has nothing but respect for the smiths, fav album Dean? mine is hatful of hollow. Do you write any of your own stuff, apart from your you tube music?
Hhhhmmmm, that's a tough question, I'm not sure which album I'd say I love the most, there are so many great songs :-) Hatful of Hollow would be a front runner though. I'd say I like Morrissey's "Vauxhall & I" the most of his solo stuff, having said that his new album "World Peace is None of your business" is excellent too :-) My mates and I used to DJ so I'd make my own tracks then to play live, never got around to releasing anything though but it would be a dream come true to have one of my own tracks pressed to Vinyl... I have been working on a few little ideas based on my UA-cam tracks lately that I'd like to make available as a digital EP perhaps, that's a goal of mine for 2015, get some tracks finished and release them :-) they will be in the style of Enigma perhaps but with my vocals on.
I'm doing this very walk on the 26th Sept (all being well) if you fancy doing it again. As always another great video from the man who knows every square inch of the Peak District
Hi Dean..thought I would go for an oldy. I can see you and Jay at work talking hammocks, routes, stoves and stars and driving people to distraction or maybe inspiring a few. The peak District has some great features. Old or new video it still shows it off in grand stile. Nice one with bernard sumner and the history lesson. I used to live in Liverpool...Scotland Rd. It's where I got into the Warehouse parties and the dance. Good memories. Any way enjoyed the conversation. ATB Mark.
Alright dean. As l've said on all your video's... well done, always a pleasure to watch. I don't do the walking i should, so it's great to watch you on your adventures. Cheers Gary
Thanks for watching and commenting Gary, really appreciate it. I haven't been getting out as much as I would have liked, work and life have been very busy so it was great to stretch the legs the other day.
Thanks for watching, the video will have been uploaded a few days after the event. I’m not 100% sure on the day but it will have been late September I imagine
This is the landscape of Alan Garner's "Moon of Gomrath". i can visualise colin's midnight run across a landscape where the mundane world meets the magical, so much better now. Also where Susan summons the Wild Hunt with wendfire on Gomrath Eve.. Thank you!
Great walk Dean, did parts of that in November, we jumped off near flash and did a loop via Three Shires Head, around to Shuttlingsloe , back up onto the ridge and across shining Tor to Cats Tor. Really good area. Do you upload any GPX / map routes of your routes?
+Pete Dalton Hi Pete thanks for watching. I upload GPX files to my website called PeakRoutes.com , there is a page dedicated to them with lots of routes on with links to blog posts and videos etc
GREAT VIDS DEAN, AS ALLWAYS !! ANY SUGGESTED SHORT, EASY WALKS FOR PARTIALLY DISABLED ??? I GET EASILY OUT OF BREATH DUE TO FYBROMYALGIA CFS, ASTHMA ETC ETC !! CHEERS IN DERBYS!! ♧
+Sally Heys thanks for watching Sally, if you want a flat route with some great views I can recommend the Monsal Trail. If you were to park at Hassop Station and walk to Monsal Dale through the headstone tunnel you'd get awesome views from the viaduct :-)
