I fixed my Bafang bbs02 following this video and my bike now works
I was getting an error 12 on my display and the battery was flashing on the display.
The error code 12 suggests that you have water damage and I never rode my bike in the rain ever.
If anyone has an error code with the bbs02 changing the controller will fix the problem!
P.S. I changed it to the New bbs02B that I ordered on eBay from a china seller. They are the Gods of e-bikes you know
Does controller,control the speed sensor too?,because mine the display doesn't show any speed but the magnetic passing the sensor do light up
Hi Why was the controller broken? Is it a quality issue? After how many km ride did the PAS failure happen? Is there any way to avoid it? I have not heard anything about it in your video so would be nice to get these information too. Thanks in advance
interesting you need a bike stand be easier, i just fitted one today i didn’t need to move the dust cover out of the way controller came off okay
I would have placed a little loctite on those screws to be sure they won't work their way loose after a bit of usage.
Guys ive just fitted a BBS02 but throttle and speed sencor not working? Any ideas? I've disconnected and te connected checked all plugged into correct controllers already
BEFORE LASHING OUT ON A NEW CONTROLLER AND ALL THE TIME AND EFFORT NECESSARY TO TEST IT, ISN'T THERE SOME WAY OF DIAGNOSING IT FIRST?

i tightened one of the controller bolts too much and it broke and is now stuck in there... same happened on otherside of motor
I fitted the HD controller to the 02 it has better Mosfetts and a slight performance upgrade it runs fine before anyone tells me it's not compatible or it will burn the motor out, it's total nonsense..
Really?! I've been wanting to do the same thing. After I bought the bbs02b I realized the 120rpm wasn't enough for me. I really want to install an HD controller on my 02. Was it easy to install? Did you have to change any connectors? If you happen to see this comment I'd love to hear about your experience with it
Hello. I have a BBS01B and after a few days I noticed that the motor stopped assisting when I pedaled. that was just for a few seconds, but it happened again and again and more and more, and now when i've been using the bike for a month, motor doesnt turn on at all. the system is on within the display but i get no assistance from the motor. we suspected that its the controller so i opened it up and every cable was attached but it was alot of grey powder in there. almost like a overheated coolingpaste thats dried up on a cpu in a computer.
that's not normal is it? you think its the controller that needs switching out?

WHAT OTHER THINGS CAN CAUSE THE PEDAL ASSIST TO STOP WORKING? MY BBS02B HAS DONE 3600KM AND THE THROTTLE WORKS FINE BUT NO PAS? AND MOTOR IS OVERHEATING USING THROTTLE ONLY.
Can i swap a 36v controller with a 48v one and use a 48v battery? Or will the copper melt in my motor then? thanks?

@@ubuthi7495 No never. I went for a 1000w bafang with 48v battery so i am sure it is safe :-)
very informative thx. do you know if the LCD screen is powered by the big bike battery or does it have its own small battery inside the LCD ?? if its inside the LCD and its flat would the bike still work normally without the LCD screen?

Hi mate a quick question. Today i install my bafang and 1 mile was fine , then something happen i feel how to the motor pull and stop pull and stop few times, then just stop, no assistance or throttle response. Come a litle message 30H on the bottom on the screen. Any idea what can cause this issue?

Very helpful, especially on the wire placements within the controller. I notice that the pinion and drive gear seem to be low on grease. Is that a concern?
It wouldn't hurt to apply moblie 28 Grease.
FYI, the plastic film on the motor is not the best for cooling

Starting to wonder if the controllers on the cyclone mid drive units are a bit more robust. Is this the case from your experience?
the cyclone controller is very cheap qualty compared to the bbshd controller......not a fair comparision. the cyclone contrller is like fred flinstone and the bbshd controller is like the jetsons.
