That was me late one night, 20 years ago. I was standing on my balcony when all of a sudden I heard sirens blaring and the sound of a truck reving...I thought to myself that must be my son..he was out of control, and at a horrible time in his life. We had lost my husband his Dad,a year prior, (no excuse,) that and once you get ahold of alcohol & drugs, it just makes things worse.. Well, back to my chase, just as I said, "That must be _ _ _ _, my son! He drives by waving a bottle of booze and 5 officers hot on his chase. He went around our apartment, crashed into our garage, ran up the stairs, didn't even notice I was standing on the balcony, and ran inside..the officers were looking around, they looked up, and saw me, and asked "Have you seen a guy?" etc. etc. I didn't say a word for at that time, I really feared my son. I just pointed to my place, they came upstairs, took him in cuffs and thus began his difficult journey back to life. He's 40 something now and has his life back together by the grace of God. I was just glad no one was hurt that night, 20 years ago, during the chase. 🙏
Great parents sometimes have to make difficult decisions like the one you had to make. Drugs entered my life when I was 16, 25 years ago. My mom kicked me out at 17. I got to keep the clothes I was wearing and my vehicle. It took me a few years, but I got it together.
Kicking me out was one of the best things my mom ever did for me. I'm glad everything worked out great for your son as well.

My kids dad became a alcoholic after they were born and I left him. It’s was hard but I knew that I had to protect them and their future. They are adults now and never took up drugs or drinking. One part of love and big part of scary theme to never start not even smoking 🚬 or they will be out of there own. I don’t know if I could have done it but it worked. They are smart and have long education and good jobs and are together 💍 with good people ❤ also with good jobs.
So I did a good job but it was very hard to do alone. It’s the price when we choose to bring kids in to the world 🌎
All choices have consequences. We have to take accountability for them and ownership. In the end we can only save ourselves ❤

As a former first responder, I ignore it too. Unless the cops need a bit of help. There is too much stupid out there to ruin a first cup of coffee.
Just be a good witness unless you are the only one who can help. Many witnesses have saved lives.

This is actually pretty funny. Something similar happened to myself, was just chilling on my patio, sipping a coffee later in the evening, I seen a bunch of red lights, flashlights cutting through the properties around me, so I'm just chilling there watching what's going down, cops clearly looking for someone running or hiding from something..... next thing I know, they come to my patio and knock on my screen door, I walk over mug in hand, ask them if they found whoever they were looking for, they said "not yet, have you seen anyone running around through here?" I said no, just you guys, said I've been only out here for like 15 minutes though as I just got back from the store from grabbing smokes. They then asked what my name was, I told them, and they immediately surrounded me, kicked my feet out and knocked me to the ground, breaking my damn Grumpy Cat mug.... I'm like WTF?? Cuff me, throw me in the back of a hot squad car in the middle of a Florida summer night without AC. Sat there for what seemed like an hour as they ransacked my place, finally came out, one got in the car I was in, I asked "what's going on, am I under arrest for something, I literally haven't done anything", he doesn't say anything and drives around the corner to my buddies house..... I was there a couple hours before hand, I went to see if he had a few smokes I could borrow so I didn't have to run to the store until the next day, but him and his buddies were passed out drunk (something typical, even though it was early for him to be passed out by then). He didn't come out, another guy who was partying with him came out and pointed to the car I was in. Cop gets back in, I again ask what's going on. He said I'm under arrest for "armed occupied burglary"...... I said "excuse me?" "That's my friends house, I didn't burglarize shit, did you talk to him, I have all permission to go in and out as I please, just as he has with my place"...they said "yes, but he's not the one who called us, the other gentleman was, and he said he seen you leaving the house unannounced, and he went to see if anything was missing and he claims he thinks a can of his soup was missing, so you're under arrest".... I'm like "you're serious... you're arresting me over some bum misplacing a can of soup?? And where the hell did you get this armed burglary from??" He said "when we searched your house, you had a pistol".....😑🙄

This happened to me. They went to serve a felony warrant to some a guy a few streets over and he ran. On foot. He got stuck in my backyard bc my fence was too high for him to jump. Had cops surround my house in seconds. Canines and all. They came in to clear my house before they found him. I was home with my 2 kids making cookies. My oldest daughter still tells the story as “the bad guy who tried to steal our cookies” 😂

My dad said his father spun the car out in snow (he told my dad in advance dw) and then coached my dad on how to get the car back under control. Im pretty sure thats what saved his life when he spun out after a hit and run on the freeway. The car was absolutely smashed by he got off with just a seatbelt bruise and some cuts.

Had a guy a few years ago go airborne in front of the house and land in the small neighboring lot here, which was wet enough they couldn't do anything but spin their tires lol. Crime in a modern muscle car... go figure. They were attempting to go around a person in their lane at the stop sign, but didn't see another person turning into their direction from the intersection. Took a left into the enbankment and got about 2 seconds in the air. Passenger got out, flailed around a bit and ran. Driver tried to get the car back onto the road. Cops showed up after 10-15 mins, chasing him into my back yard and captured him trying to swim through the bushes lol.
A separate time I had just woken up and a guy came jogging slowly through my yard right in front of me. Minivan pulled up in my driveway, 7 cops armed to the teeth jumped out. Same deal. Caught him swimming through the bushes haha.
Wife: WTH IS GOING IN OUT THERE!
Husband: nothin…hey are the pancakes done yet?
“ I’m gonna want that second cup as well honey.” 😂
