Thank you for the affirmation. I just started my UA-cam channel a few moths ago. I'm 81 so it's for the more mature woman. I'm slowly gaining followers and hours watching. I have a solid Instagram account but it's good to know I made the right decision starting a UA-cam channel. Thanks. Oh, I'm going to try Munch also.
Yes, UA-cam is a little more supportive for sure! But I am coming to realize that even UA-cam is very very very competitive and it's alright to be discouraged by slow growth. 🐌 I wish for everyone to feel fulfilled with whatever they are doing on UA-cam, AND also have a stable source of income. That's just me personal opinion 😺
I actually started with UA-cam and used Instagram just periodically for a long time.... I decided to put more effort into Instagram the past 18 months and the payoff has been terrible. I can't seem to get my reels monetized even though I have thousands of views on each and almost 10,000 followers. I am also getting very sick of all of the canned reels and people constantly using trending audio to make a reel (and then you see 3 Reels in a row with the exact same audio and they are a lot like click bait) or, even better, sharing pictures (sometimes you just want to scroll in silence and read). It really is getting old and I think it's been taken too far.
I started my IG as practice while I was still afraid to post on UA-cam. But since I’ve started YT, I Agee the growth is much easier than on IG. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing Katie, I started UA-cam 10 months ago. This is the only content platform I am focused on. No point in being overwhelmed sharing content everywhere and not getting the desired result. I also enjoy interacting in UA-cam comments and helping others 😀

Such a helpful video! I deleted my Instagram a few weeks back and it made me more aware of how much time I was spending on it for my business, when I wasn't being intentional or strategic with my time. UA-cam has been my #1 source of clients & Instagram, while it converted some customers, did not have a good return based on the amount of time & energy I was spending on it.

I was talking about this just yesterday! Instagram is in shambles. I think I’m shifting to UA-cam for sure. Instagram is trying to become everything at once and ruining the motivation to create anything. I think this is a sign for me ! Thank you so much for this video
Yes! I’ve been feeling this way about it for years. I didn’t mind stories, I could show behind the scenes stuff. I just started my UA-cam channel and after watching this video, I’m so excited to keep working hard and creating more UA-cam content. I’ve been watching UA-cam videos for more than 15 years now and I’ve been wanting to start a channel for so long but I just did it now! Thanks for this video!
I started on UA-cam, when most in my niche start on Instagram. I have an Instagram account as just a side thing. The only way it grows is when I send people there from my videos. UA-cam is SO much better for SO many reasons. I feel it’s easier to get affiliate sells here than Instagram too. Plus content lasts so much longer here. And you are right, brand deals on UA-cam are worth so much more. Way more money for the amount of work put in per week.
I agree with you 100% on the discoverability - which is why I made the switch. But making good UA-cam content is 3x as hard and requires more skills than ig. Harder but def worth it
I am glad I started just few months back..I love research and teaching. To all tiny UA-camrs like myself, never give up,we will all get there. Remain Bless Peace
I start Tiktok and IG at the same time, I only have followers from IG with people I know or have met in real life, on Tiktok I have followers that I never met. That's the difference. It's very hard to grow on IG now...
As a full-time creator with Instagram as my main platform, I really enjoyed hearing this perspective! I just started UA-cam a few weeks ago and am really looking forward to 2023 ✨ I've been binging your channel. Your advice is incredibly helpful!
I use Instagram for personal now. I started my asmr vids on tik tok earlier this year and then decided to start a UA-cam channel in May. I’m seeing growth on both sides and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve always wanted to create content for UA-cam I just didn’t know what I wanted to make. Very helpful video! 🌸
This is legit! UA-cam is such an amazing platform for business. Another great reason to establish a channel for your business is by giving your videos a personal touch and showcasing the "human" aspect of your brand, you can easily build trust with your audience quicker.
I’ve always loved being a UA-camr but wanted to start paying a little more attention to my Instagram. Watching this, I can see why I really need to keep my focus on UA-cam whilst then repurposing my content for Instagram. Nice one, thanks a lot!
I went on a hiatus with Instagram to focus on my UA-cam channel and I’m so glad I did. I enjoy everything that comes with content creating. 🙂 I always wanted a career with graphics so this is the closest thing to it. Even though I doubt I’ll get anywhere with UA-cam, I enjoy it a lot - more than Instagram at least lol
Love this so much! I have built my business on IG for the past 2.5+ years and now branching into UA-cam as a platform to communicate longer form content. Absolutely love it!
Totally agree. IG is a social media platform and YT is a search engine. Second largest, after its owner. I think many people don't think about or understand that difference. I actually launched my channel yesterday, finally 😂
I don't have Instagram. But I noticed you've been on YT for like 12 years. Obviously after so many years of deliberate growth. You've been so active on YT for so many years, and only recently it just kicked in for you properly. It's down to your hard work and dedication, but it does take a long time though.
This definitely inspired me to give it another shot. I started a YT channel a couple years ago and really loved it, but got overwhelmed with the editing process. I've been primarily focusing on IG ever since because editing reels is a lot less time consuming. I still really want to do both, but haven't exactly figured out how. Munch sounds like a really helpful tool though and might make it a possibility! Thank you for sharing!
Defs give it another shot! Best of luck you got this!🙌🏼 Yes I get it! Editing is very difficult! I've been learning/editing for about a year and 2 months now but it's a huge learning curve and just in general editing eats up a lot of time! I personally don't use Reels I just post the regular video format but I wish you the best of luck figuring out how to balance doing Reels and regular videos!!
1 month ago my IG was disabled for the most ridiculous reason ever. It thinks I'm under 13. Although I provided proof of age, no one cared. I sent dozens of e-mails trying to appeal their decision, and I only get automated messages in return. And the irony? It was a business account. On the other hand, I've been posting on YT and constantly improving my content for almost 2 years, and yet I didn't even reach 1k subscribers. Today I posted my 100th video. But I keep pushing.....
Your content is really good. You could try instead of the buzzer you talking saying next move as you have a calming voice see if people prefer that. I subscribed to support you 😊
This is a great example of a modern day infomercial! Lots of valuable content upfront plus a social proof ad at the end for a product that I may actually look into. 👍
Yes yes yes, I’ve been waiting for more UA-cam tips from you ❤️ definitely looking at UA-cam as a primary channel and TikTok as a secondary platform. Thanks as always for your awesome content 🥰
In the past I spend SOOO MUCH time in Instagram that I feel was time wasted. Now I am in UA-cam and I cannot be more happy! I recommend to everyone to try UA-cam :DDD you can do it!! 💙
Yes, Instagram is slowly dying, but the knitting and crafting community is THRIVING there. I was thinking about yarn and textiles specifically when you talked about no one using Instagram as a search engine, but that's the perfect place to find photos of different kinds of yarn in different lighting and projects. It's amazing how many times I've decided on which color of yarn to get through Instagram searches. This goes for any aesthetic product, really. I prefer searching for items of clothing or hiking gear on Instagram as well, so see what previous feel about their fit and quality :)
Well that's fun I found your video. Launched my first UA-cam series this morning, after a little more than a month on Instagram. It is just different! The longer, deeper content fits much more with me too!
Thank you for sharing, your video was helpful .... I've been on Instagram since 2014 but I haven't still grown 10k... Growing on IG is so hard.... So I decided to redirect my energy here on UA-cam ... I pray I become successful here .. And all of us starting off here 🙏🏽
the munch site is exactly what i need! this is why i still continue to watch "new how to be a youtuber" videos cus there's always new info along with stuff i already knew.
Love this, the other day I posted one same, short video on 3 platforms, UA-cam shorts, reels and tiktok. Just to test it out Surprisingly, UA-cam Shorts had the highest view in just 24 hours among all three. My reel still has not reached half the amount of yt Shorts views and its already been 5 days (I posted the video on reel first, few days ahead). Will start focus on shorts now to get more exposure.
I’ve been posting short form content to UA-cam Instagram and TikTok and have been happiest with UA-cam as it has been the most consistent and steady 🎉🎉🎉
😭😭😭 thank you I’m so glad you’ve shared this. I’ve been trying to do UA-cam but I don’t have and ig and hate ig with a passion so I’m glad to have found 1 video that validates my distain for it lol.. although I know there is still a lot of value with ig

I just started my UA-cam channel about a month ago and it’s been so much better then Instagram I feel! And you can get more creative with video editing. It was a little intimidating at first but totally worth it I think!
Super video I watched the whole thing and you seamlessly integrated the sponsorship in which ends up being high value and specific to what your talking about. Perfection. Thank you
The Instagram shelf life of a post is 48 hours! So after 2 days the post isn't likely to be seen by in feed anyone else. This is why I put more work into my youtube channel. Thanks for the tips!
I am so happy and glad to visit your channel as I had been dealing with the same issue, no matter how hard I tried my Instagram account simply did not grow, its frustrating and the biggest bummer is to constantly keep on accommodating the changes in Instagram... Finally after putting all the fear behind have started my UA-cam Channel and hope that it gets some recognition some day, for now just trying to add some valuable content and gain the confidence to be talking to the camera as that does not comes as naturally as you are doing.... Wishing you all the success and I am sure that you will achieve all your dreams...
Love this! Thank you so much. I get so torn on if I started my UA-cam channel at a bad time because it almost seems like Instagram and UA-cam are slowly dying 🥴 but after watching this I’m gonna keep chugging along ☺️
I definitely don't think UA-cam is dying! just because short form videos are really popular right now (like TikTok) doesn't mean that youtube is gonna go away - I feel like UA-cam is actually starting to replace netflix for some people
@@katie Well, that would be good news for new people like me on YT haha, It feels like the "great UA-camrs" are fading away and now no one knows where content is actually heading to...
Great information. I'll try to implement as much as of what I understand as possible. I like UA-cam, but it to me, it is hard to get views and followers. It gets discouraging if you try to just post as a creative. It's so competitive as to what people will watch. I'm now going to post what I want and try not to be that concerned about the competition or anything else. If people want to see what I'm talking about, I guess they'll find me.
Speaking of recommendations.. this video was recommended to me and I am loving it!!! Such an interesting topic and you presented it in an engaging way!

I binge watched your videos because I'm getting back into youtube and your channel has alot of things I can learn from. Started creating videos last year but quit after only doing it for a few months I feel like it was so hard to grow here but then looking back at it now what if I keep creating videos and never stop? So many regrets but it's not too late. Thanks for all the tips. I found you on tiktok btw. 😍
Hi Katie! I've just found your video and you really have helped me make up my mind to finally start my UA-cam channel. I had some doubts but you inspired me to do it! I tend to create long videos (because I have important info to share jeje) and before I post them on Insta I always have to trim them to make them shorter. But with the ideas that you gave about using the content to create reels, carrusel, etc It'll be easier to create quality content for both platforms. By the way, thank you for sharing Munch, I didn't know that even existed! Great video!!!
Congratulations on opening up a UA-cam channel hooray!! I also, as you do, really love making long videos and I always tended to post the exact same videos on both platforms (did not shorten them on IG or even change the 16:9 ratio) but I'm starting to realize that's not the way to go about my content on IG. So yes I 100% agree that the ways she mentioned how to create content based on your youtube through reels and whatnot is very helpful. I'm going to really have to think about ways to incorporate her tips for my IG page and ofc here on YT as well.
Katie. Your videos feel like you’re my best friend. And I just stopped by your house and asked you how you created your business. And then you take the time to sit and explain it in real, best friend words while we sip smoothies and then discuss our Friday night plans.

Harder but def worth it
Inspiring! Took a long hiatus and this came at the right time! Thank you for breaking it down so beautifully
LOVE the thumbnail! 🙌🏾😂👏🏾
I am glad I started just few months back..I love research and teaching.
To all tiny UA-camrs like myself, never give up,we will all get there.
Remain Bless
Peace
I start Tiktok and IG at the same time, I only have followers from IG with people I know or have met in real life, on Tiktok I have followers that I never met. That's the difference. It's very hard to grow on IG now...
Hello dear
I get that! I just started my channel this month and I’m loving it! I love learning how to do better with editing! I’ll check out your channel!!
I subscribed! I think it’s smart and helpful to create a community of small UA-camers
Love this so much! I have built my business on IG for the past 2.5+ years and now branching into UA-cam as a platform to communicate longer form content. Absolutely love it!
Hello dear
I trust you, you’re straightforward practical and make sense. So grateful I found you
Totally agree. IG is a social media platform and YT is a search engine. Second largest, after its owner. I think many people don't think about or understand that difference. I actually launched my channel yesterday, finally 😂
Hello dear
I don't have Instagram. But I noticed you've been on YT for like 12 years. Obviously after so many years of deliberate growth. You've been so active on YT for so many years, and only recently it just kicked in for you properly. It's down to your hard work and dedication, but it does take a long time though.
Hello dear
Great info! I’ve been wondering where to focus my efforts. Thank you!
Hello dear
Your content is really good. You could try instead of the buzzer you talking saying next move as you have a calming voice see if people prefer that. I subscribed to support you 😊
@@clarebrody1 Thank you so much for your support and also for the tip, perhaps I will give it a try next time I do a "talking" workout video!
What a good timing! I thought it was tooooo late to start UA-cam, so it this is a super helpful info. ever! Thanks Katie!
I def dont use IG to search long form content youre right
GOOOO UA-cam!! listen to Katie hahaha
This is a great example of a modern day infomercial! Lots of valuable content upfront plus a social proof ad at the end for a product that I may actually look into. 👍
I subscribed yesterday, and can't stop watching your videos😁 so you know what u talking about👍
Yes yes yes, I’ve been waiting for more UA-cam tips from you ❤️ definitely looking at UA-cam as a primary channel and TikTok as a secondary platform. Thanks as always for your awesome content 🥰
In the past I spend SOOO MUCH time in Instagram that I feel was time wasted. Now I am in UA-cam and I cannot be more happy! I recommend to everyone to try UA-cam :DDD you can do it!!
💙
Hello dear
Very informative. Thank you!
Talk about a high value video- this is it! Thank you so much! Sooo much helpful info!
Well that's fun I found your video. Launched my first UA-cam series this morning, after a little more than a month on Instagram. It is just different! The longer, deeper content fits much more with me too!
Hello dear
Yt is the way to go. I have been on the grind for 5+ years. The growth is slow. But I won't trade any single minute for anything. Katie 🙏
Thanks so much for this 🙌🏻 and thank you for your transparency with how much you make on your channel and how it works ❤️
Thank you for sharing, your video was helpful .... I've been on Instagram since 2014 but I haven't still grown 10k... Growing on IG is so hard.... So I decided to redirect my energy here on UA-cam ... I pray I become successful here .. And all of us starting off here 🙏🏽
This is my story too!
@@PaperCraneOfHope ❤️❤️
you are so talented! @deezeemakeovers
@@ElektrasLove Thank you so much ❤️❤️
the munch site is exactly what i need! this is why i still continue to watch "new how to be a youtuber" videos cus there's always new info along with stuff i already knew.
Love this, the other day I posted one same, short video on 3 platforms, UA-cam shorts, reels and tiktok.
Just to test it out
Surprisingly, UA-cam Shorts had the highest view in just 24 hours among all three.
Thanks so much, Katie! I keep dragging my feet and getting bogged down in the process. Your video was super helpful/motivating.
I'm happy UA-cam recommended this video to me! I needed it. Thank you.❤️
😭😭😭 thank you I’m so glad you’ve shared this. I’ve been trying to do UA-cam but I don’t have and ig and hate ig with a passion so I’m glad to have found 1 video that validates my distain for it lol.. although I know there is still a lot of value with ig
Awesome!!!! I initially wanted to have a UA-cam channel but thought it was really slow… moved to short content creating on instagram and still struggle to grow. My heart is always telling me to come back to YT but had second thoughts. This gave me a lot of direction! Tysm
I just started my UA-cam channel about a month ago and it’s been so much better then Instagram I feel! And you can get more creative with video editing. It was a little intimidating at first but totally worth it I think!
Amazing..taking this as a sign! I've been so frustrated on Instagram and trying to grow! And I will definitely be looking into Munch!
Hello dear
Oh my goodness thank you for telling me about Munch definitely using it
You’re hands down the most useful content creator out here. Tysm for your knowledge & help 🙏🏾
Hello dear
Wow. The level of detail in yoru video is AWESOME. Thank you. I've just subscribed!
Speaking of recommendations.. this video was recommended to me and I am loving it!!! Such an interesting topic and you presented it in an engaging way!
Love love love your pace! The tempo of your speech just makes me soooooo comfortable. Thank you for this supes on point analysis ❤
Katie, I am so glad that I found your channel! I have watched several of your videos (all the way to the end 😃) and they are so great! They have been so helpful to me. I love your personality and great advice! Thank you so much 😃
This so so great! I have I question! I am so torn how to direct my channel. I am an insurance broker and run a insurance business (Boring I know) however I have a creative brain and really experienced in videography and photography. But have a passion for business. Is it too much to talk about All these? any ideas from anyone? I’m torn on which direction to go.!
Tell me how I wrote down this morning that I need to find a platform that automatically repurposes my content...LOVE THIS!
great video yeah i think what gets hard is when you are working on youtube and you hear of that person who blew up on instagram and then transitioned into a youtube channel everyone wants that immediate growth and subscribers and im finding its a lot harder than most everyone thinks
Thank you for your content I enjoy your videos! I’ve started a channel but it is very difficult to grow on UA-cam as there’s so much competition! I’ve been using all the tips and tricks but it’s difficult to find a niche when you’re a new UA-camr these days. I’m still creating as I enjoy it but I have found it hard
Ooh I didn’t know about Munch but I spend so much time manually repurposing my content - this will save me hours! Thank you!
This was so helpful!! I came here for instagram videos and saw this one! I need to start vlogging now.
Thank You SO Much Katie! As Always, FAB ❤️🔥
Girl! This video is awesome. Thank you for the content info and for recommending munch !
Katie. Your videos feel like you’re my best friend. And I just stopped by your house and asked you how you created your business. And then you take the time to sit and explain it in real, best friend words while we sip smoothies and then discuss our Friday night plans.
Thank you much, for this video🤗👍🏻
You said it all, I was talking about this a few weeks ago ! We started a UA-cam channel just 3 months ago, it’s a lot of work but I’m loving it ! Thank you for your video !
I was thinking of starting my UA-cam channel but backed out cause I was too comfortable using Instagram. I feel like the photos I posted are really good but not getting alot of love either so maybe I should actually start my UA-cam channel up!
Hello beautiful how you doing
Thank you so much! I have definitely been discouraged on Instagram! I’m now getting active on UA-cam 🦋
Yes! I have just recently switched from IG to UA-cam 🤗
Per usual, you are AWESOME. Thank you for the nudge
I needed this video. I watched it twice and saved it for later. Thank you for making this; it's so validating and motivating.❤️❤️❤️
Yeah I’m kinda tired of IG because I put a lot of work and to many damn changes!
This was definitely confirmation for me! Thank you for this! Right on time!
I started my channel this week and I definitely prefer it in comparison to Instagram 🙌🏻
Great video, thanks for get munch! As a content creator I'm always stressed trying to make time to shorten my videos and having a tool that does it for me is clutch. Thanks again!!! 💞
Thank you for the video! 💗
I feel like it's been a little while since I've seen a video from you about UA-cam! Can't wait to see more!
it has been too long! i definitely want to make some youtube strategy content :)
Thank you for this video. You answered a question I’ve been asking myself for months. To focus on IG or UA-cam
OMG thanks for sharing about MUNCH! so getting it
I stopped Instagram. Now I’m in love with video editing. UA-cam is awesome because we learn. Unlike other platforms
Do you work with a team or are you a solopreneur?
Thanks for this, great tips and insight. I had plans to redo UA-cam again so this will be helpful
Thank you so much for sharing all these great informations!🥰 How do you consider good a certain view duration? Because I know a lot of creators struggle with this for the low attention span
