I’ve been on UA-cam for 1 year now and happy with the progress! I have under 1k subscribers but still had my first paid UA-cam collaboration with a major brand. Anything is possible nowadays!
@@blueskybianca this makes me feel better because this is my first month and it’s definitely a ghost town. But my goal this year is to post every month for the next 12 months and see what type of growth i have in my journey by December.
I started youtube in the year 2018 I had 200 subs back then but I stopped uploading videos since I do not have enough time to create content. However, God is good because I was able to buy a new phone with quality camera, so I decided to get back on youtube and uploaded videos again. I am very happy that I can finally share my life stories in yt and be able to connect with you guys! 🫶 I hope all new youtuber like me will have their time soon . As of now let’s enjoy making videos and trust the process ❤ God bless everyone! Lots of love 🥰
I just hit 1k subs last week and it took me a year to reach these numbers. So happy I started last year, I really do enjoy doing UA-cam always wanted to do it but did not have the courage so I advise people to start asap!! Dont dwell on it just upload!!
Thank you for the encouragement. I just started Jan 1st. I'm grateful for the 54 subs I have, but I know I should have started a long time ago. No looking back, full steam ahead now that I am doing it.
i finally bit the bullet and started a channel this month and your videos have been extremely help - thanks for all the knowledge!!!! this is such a great reminder of what is poppin' over here!
Trying to get to 2000 subscribers this year! I’m so glad that it’s not to late to grow on UA-cam! I love UA-cam and this year I’m taking the risk and growing my channel! I’d love to connect with other small creators!
I'm still going! ❤ 😊 1 of my videos just got alot of views! I'm really happy about it. I do a makeup and health channel so alot of competition. I'm still small but I do enjoy creating long form content. ~x~
Well meaning that you have to do other videos like that so that they can also go viral and make the 4000 public watch hours .... wishing you only success
So I clicked on this video despite already having a UA-cam channel that’s been around for a while. But I still found tremendous value from it because I needed to renew my sense of commitment to my UA-cam channel this year. I’ve been flip-flopping back-and-forth between creating and focusing on short form content and committing to my UA-cam channel. At times I’ve tried to commit full force to both, and it just doesn’t work. This year… I’ve decided to go all in on UA-cam… And maybe once I go full-time with that I can focus on Instagram too. But for now, I love the Evergreen capabilities of UA-cam… And the points that you mentioned like having a more committed audience. It’s tough not to focus on all the shiny objects at once… But I think that’s the key to real growth!
8 months into my UA-cam journey, I am so thankful for your content ❤it has helped me a lot to look at UA-cam journey in a healthy and positive way and understand the logistics of success in UA-cam. I have 549 subscribers so far ❤️ but equally important thing is I am enjoying creating videos and I am happy with the ride, so thank you again ❤
I stared my channel last year and it has been so worth it. Things on instagram are so volatile that I started with just crossposting my reels to shorts but now do long-form art content as well on UA-cam. I am finding I enjoy creating UA-cam content more these days because it lets me do projects that just don't work in 90 seconds or less.
I already have a UA-cam channel, but this video has so many great points especially the community factor. This year I made a promise to myself to go all in and stick to an uploading schedule. My goal this year is to produce excellent content and get monetized. What are your thoughts on shorts? Do you find they help grow your channel?
Hey shorts have been helping me bring in subscribers. I’m going to go all in too this year. My channel is all about healthy eating and living a healthier lifestyle. I’m going to try posting one video and one short per week. My channel is mostly shorts lol. I need to start posting long form videos to get watch time.
I’ve been debating opening a UA-cam for YEARS and your video just motivated me to have this as THE ONE resolution I need to accomplish for 2024. I found you on UA-cam and now loyally follow you on IG and TT as well so the community building reason is point on
Similar feeling as well! It took me years to decide to start a UA-cam channel and then one day, I just did it on a whim because I needed another creative outlet. Your 2024 is going to be awesome, keep it up!
Totally agree about the community factor! It's absolutely been the case for me - UA-cam feels like a real place for community compared to the other platforms 😊
I have been stalling it for 3years and eventually started my channel this year so I can totally relate. I am glad with the small and slow progress and I believe it will eventually pay off in the end. Thanks Katie❤️
ive been creating for about a year now and i have slowly and steadily been growing, still working on finding my niche and which content works best. thanks for the helpful video, katie!
I have a channel with 8k subcribers, but i wasn't pleased with the whole thing.Low engagement. Everything. I could post a video and it'll take probably 2 weeks to get to 300 views. Plus,i was inconsistent. Ps: i gained about 4k subscribers from shorts. I think this also contributed to it. I decided to create a new Channel ,last year November. Best decison. I worked on my thumbnail, titling and just eveeyting. And i get so many views...and my videos convert viewers to subscribers. The issue with new UA-camrs, mostly,is thumbnail. The content itself can be filled with lots of valuable contents, but the thumbnail isn't that appealing, thereby making people scroll past it.
I just started uploading my own videos and now I realize what you and many other UA-camrs say about the community here. Is absolutely true, is very supportive and dedicated. It gives the strength to keep going :) Thank you for this video 🙏
I still want to do a U2. I just don't know what to do it about. I just cannot work because of my illness. I had cancer real bad and I'm still recovering from it and all my money mostly goes to it. So I need to make more money to finish paying it off or get my house bills caught up my husband's real sick with COPD so I was just trying to think of something I could do from my house. Not sure what it is so I'm still looking for ideas. I was thinking of doing something the days after cancer but I'm not sure or I still might think about doing something of living with someone who has COP Day. Don't know if there's anything on there like this still looking but I appreciate all the stuff you put up there because it's making me more want to look to get started
I've been feeling exceptionally low lately, looking for the smallest amount of light in any and every corner - this is the exact video I needed to see today. Thank you for putting yourself out there, spreading joy and creating community! 🤗
Don't underestimate yourself! 10k subs is AMAZING, you're at a point that I want to be at but I started just a week ago! Just out of curiosity, have you monetized your channel yet? Has that part been fruitful?
I agree with the TikTok vs. UA-cam community. I was an active creator on TikTok and got decent views, but the community aspect just wasn't there. However, when I moved to UA-cam, everyone is so supportive of the content I make, and it makes me so appreciative
I’m not fully through the video yet- but I just had to come here real quick and say thank you for the immediate transparency about why influencers and creators eventually migrate to youtube from other platform. It’s such simple context that is often left out or lied about.
Agree on your points on the sense of community and the overall reliability of UA-cam - I feel this is a much more "calm" platform compared to the sensory overload and chaos of Instagram (and TikTok, although I've never downloaded the app and never will so I'm basing this on things I've heard and TikToks I've seen uploaded to Instagram). I'm personally aiming for monetization this year, won't be long before I reach my first 1K subscribers and hopefully the 4K watch hours will follow a few months later (slow growth lol but I'm dedicated to making it happen). Thanks for another informative video!
I’m getting ready to do some podcast and amp my channel up. Hoping to get some awesome travel meet and greets with the dogs at the shelters soon! I hope UA-cam is worth the time we all are willing to put in it. I have to get those watch time hours in and that will come in the future.
I love creating for UA-cam but it definitely takes so much time. Posting reels and shorts is more so addicting because it’s easy to feel more productive because, as you said, shorts are quick to push out.
I’ve been on UA-cam for years and have been debating starting a new channel because I wasn’t seeing much growth. But honestly this video is definitely giving me that push to keep going and expand on my current content
Perfect timing! I decided this year to become more consistent with posting and (slowly but surely) help more people with my videos. Thanks for all your guidance and insight, it’s very motivating and makes having a successful channel feel possible!
Hey 👋 I’ve just had to pause the video where you’re talking about the community! I completely agree, it’s blown me away how much support and (dare I say) friendships are forming, not just with me, but with each other in the comments. I started my channel in spring last year and I’m at 9.5k subscribers… I never expected to get this far to be honest. I have SO much to learn still, in fact my first video at 250k views was copyrighted because I knew nothing, and so I didn’t make money on it until I fixed the problem at about 180k views 😅 now I use Epidemic and no more problems… I just wish I knew last year as I had copyright claims on about 7 videos 😂 rookie error I guess…. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I’m hoping to work with some brands this year as Adsense alone isn’t a wage really (I still work part time) anyway, good luck everyone, if I can do it (age 46 and tech phobic) anyone can 🎉

Finally started my channel having watched your videos! It has been so fun. I felt In my healthcare job I do that I lost some creativity in my general life and this has been a fun activity to film travel videos. P.s this video is really helpful for those who have just started!
What a great video! I started to take my channel more seriously 2 weeks ago. I do UA-cam for a while but was never consistent with it , but that's gonna chance. It's nice to be creative and practice speaking in front a camera. And I'm also excited to build a community
You are absolutely my favorite Katie. Your warm, relaxed, honest videos are so useful and professional. Feels like talking to a friend or having my own personal teacher. Thank you. Keep the informative videos coming. Do you have a step by step set up and ongoing management system for UA-cam? Also, syncing Instagram and UA-cam if the video formats are so different. Any advice. Thanks
All you’ve talked about is the main reason I’ve wanted to get consistent with UA-cam. It just takes so much more time and effort while doing IG/ TT too and then you get like 6 views and it’s so discouraging
*****AGREE****** UA-cam feels so much different. I love it, just slowly struggling to get those precious 4K. Daaaaang! But this video is very encouraging to me to NOT give up! Thanks!!!😊 🎉🎉
2024 is my year to focus on UA-cam! I’ve been posting on Instagram and TikTok for about a year. You are so right that we eventually come to the UA-cam train. Haha!
I love your tips, thanks. I get so discouraged at times. For the first time I promoted a video through UA-cam and it killed my channel at the moment. Gave me tons of views and subs that normally took me years to get. Now videos after are getting less views then before. I don't understand, UA-cam pretty much punishes you after you pay them money for a promoted video. Never ever again. I followed every rule all these years and it made me feel like I cheated but I trusted it because it was through UA-cam. UGH
Katie, thank you for this insightful video. I totally agree with everything that you said. UA-cam is worth it. Even though I’m not monetized yet, I will not give up.
I feel this and I BELIEVE IT! but the ever confusing question- the niche?! I feel like most people who want to create content naturally fall into a more lifestyle or personal brand category which seems really hard to grow because it's like your content is not specific so it doesnt "suit" every viewer. this is like the trickiest thing!
My son and I are working together to tell our family's story about living in a small village in Baja Sur, Mexico. Your videos are great and we're learning a lot. So thanks. Oh and I'm drinking a black coffee in bed looking out the window at the ocean.
Thank you so much for your valuable insights. So much of what you said resonated with me, and I'm so tired of the moving goalposts on other social media platforms, too! You have inspired me to get started with UA-cam, something I have been thinking about for a while.
Agree on your points. Short-form platforms for TikTok, UA-cam Shorts, and Reels are really offering instant feedback and reach in globally or locally. Thank you for sharing these tips.
Thank you so much, Katie. Thank you for the insight and transparency. ❤ I'm new with 54 subs, but this video inspires me to keep going and put out the best content I can daily.
Found you today, already on video 3 and I’m so happy there’s so much content for me to watch 😍 I am going to be starting a UA-cam, just trying to learn and also get over my fears. But I plan on posting my first video in August 🤭👏🏼
Here is the thing though, no one expects a lot from you at the very beginning with the videos you create! Feel free to create videos on all your interests, see what hits, and refine over time! :D Cheers!
This was so insightful. I just started posting back on my UA-cam channel cause I wasn’t getting the desired results. Hopefully I can stay motivated this time around 🥺
I decided today that I am starting over on youtube. I left my 10K channel because of my own irregularity and change of content which completely disturbed the views. I am starting over with the hope that I’ll be better 😊 Thank you for the video ❤
Love your channel! Im not giving up!!!! This year im going to go hard!!!!! All year long!!! I love my channel! It's small but it's mine❤❤ also your channel is the best!!
Thanks, Katie! I have a UA-cam channel and passed the one year mark at the end of October. I’m hoping in 2024 to hit the 4K watch hours and 1K subscribers. I appreciate your tips and encouragement. 😊
I started my channel in October 2023 and build the content according to your Help/Hub/Hero video, which helped me a lot! Just reached 1k yesterday, yeah! And 1500 watch hours. Try to publish a vid every week. I love the process and all but yeah, it's a lot of work besides a 80% job and family. But it's worth every minute! Big thank you for your videos!
Katie if we have a channel of only 100 subs that been inactive for over a year and we are ready to commit to weekly videos would you reccomed starting a new channel from scratch or just picking up where we left off? The content will be similar to what was shared previously. Thanks so much for all you offer us.
Although the process of creating videos and uploading doesn’t change, the rules and requirements of UA-cam have for instance, you used to need 500 subscribers to unlock the discussion/community tab but that’s all not necessary anymore.
Thank you for the informative content. We're diving into UA-cam. We've focused on IG and FB for a year with very little to show for the hard work put in. I'm currently turning my shorts into longer videos for our UA-cam channel. Really love the content you put out. It's been very helpful and encouraging. Thank you!
new creator here - just started three weeks ago - and really needed this extra push. it's a tough world but learning to stay consistent. fyi - if you're in your 20s and 30s and feeling lost, i post snippets of recipes and reflections i've picked up through the years. i believe everything happens for a reason - hope to see you around :)
Hi Katie! Great video, love your content! After lots of thoughts and overthinking in my head, I finally made steps and started my UA-cam channel. You are a big inspiration and with this video you just gave me even more motivated to make it work! thank you!!!
Awesome video, Katie! It's funny because UA-cam is one of those major platforms that I have spent years consuming content instead of creating it. I recently started my UA-cam channel about a week ago with the intention of being a video journal of sorts. Truth is, I am still trying to figure out the purpose of it. But hey, at least I started!
So helpful! I think for a creator, it can be so intimidating when you see TikTokers getting millions of views, and then you want to be there as well, now knowing the grass is greener on the other side.
How many videos did it take before you started getting 1-2k+ views consistently? Because I feel like it's so hard for motivation to watch a video get barely 100 views.... then suddenly, it gets 2k views. Then for months, barely scraping 50 views. Suddenly, 500 views. Etc.
I always find your videos so inspiring and this one is no exception! I've been uploading on youtube for over a year now, following a lot of the tips you've mentioned in previous videos and the growth is still incredibly slow for me, I'm persevering and still hoping that will change in future ❤❤
Thanks Katie really struggling with watch time but on a positive note I almost have 1k subs! And I signed up with epidemic sounds through your link can’t wait to use music without worrying
I absolutely love the creative outlet on YT. I feel like with Reels/TikToks it's all about what's viral and recycling what's trending. I am trying to find the motivation to continue making short-form content, because I think it'll bring more audience to my YT channel, but in your opinion do you think a lot of audience comes from social media to YT? I just don't know where I should be putting my energy right now.
What if you’ve been thinking about it for awhile to start a new channel this is my main channel popping off with short form videos thinking about starting anew one doing long form videos does anyone have any kind of feedback for me I would appreciate it very much
I just started my own channel, posted my first video and it got 37 views. When I saw the "30" I felt so happy I even started jumping. Yeah, is not that much but it made me happy. Plus I know I'll learn as I continue, and even if the channel doesn't grow, I will. Thanks for the video and motivation! 🤍

Finally started my channel having watched your videos! It has been so fun. I felt In my healthcare job I do that I lost some creativity in my general life and this has been a fun activity to film travel videos. P.s this video is really helpful for those who have just started!
Thank you Katie!! I started up my YT channel again at the back end of 2024. And it’s making me so happy to build that community! ❤
UGH
Thank you so much Katie. I finally just started my UA-cam channel this year and I’m hopeful for growth. Your tips are really helpful
I finally started my UA-cam in July 2023 and I’m close to 1k subscribers🥳 excited to eventually monetize!! 🙏🏻
Katie, thank you for this insightful video. I totally agree with everything that you said. UA-cam is worth it. Even though I’m not monetized yet, I will not give up.
I started my channel last month, and thanks for all your lovely videos. They are so helpful.
We just started our UA-cam channel & posting consistently! Your videos have been so helpful - thank you!
Agree on your points. Short-form platforms for TikTok, UA-cam Shorts, and Reels are really offering instant feedback and reach in globally or locally. Thank you for sharing these tips.
Starting my youTube journey (again) this year and excitment and fear are hanging out together lately! ahah! But I'll do it.
I’m doing the same thing! I just posted my first video of 2024 last week! We got this!!
@@emilyraemooreyou rock! I wanna see it!!!
I was always afraid of other people to judge me but I started now and it is already so fun 💗💗💗
We’ve had our Channel for a year and this vid was so helpful!! You’re so smart 😊
Thank you so much, Katie. I am also joining UA-cam journey and your sharing is so value. Wish everyone happy on this journey too 🍁🍀🍂
I decided today that I am starting over on youtube. I left my 10K channel because of my own irregularity and change of content which completely disturbed the views. I am starting over with the hope that I’ll be better 😊 Thank you for the video ❤
How has that been working for you. I’m thinking about starting a new channel as well and becoming consistent…
Love your channel! Im not giving up!!!! This year im going to go hard!!!!! All year long!!! I love my channel! It's small but it's mine❤❤ also your channel is the best!!
This is one of my goals too! I’d love to connect and grow together!
@@emilyraemoore hi emily!! Yesss Id love to grow together and support one another and maybe even collab!!!!
Big thank you for your videos!
thank you for the motivation, Katie! i'm glad to have finally started my youtube channel this year after years of wanting to!
It seems every year, month, video is a new start, so thank you for this video! It reminds me of why we do this.
You are extremely valuable and much appreciated! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for the informative content. We're diving into UA-cam. We've focused on IG and FB for a year with very little to show for the hard work put in. I'm currently turning my shorts into longer videos for our UA-cam channel. Really love the content you put out. It's been very helpful and encouraging. Thank you!
I think shorts is a great way to promote your content and channel!
I really like your content Katie :) Started UA-cam in 2008 but finally see results with my newer channel. Thanks for the helpful tips
new creator here - just started three weeks ago - and really needed this extra push. it's a tough world but learning to stay consistent.
fyi - if you're in your 20s and 30s and feeling lost, i post snippets of recipes and reflections i've picked up through the years. i believe everything happens for a reason - hope to see you around :)
I’ve decided to be consistent on my channel this year ✨ thank you for this video Katie.
Dear Katie, your content is so amazing! Thank you for sharing 🙌
Great video! I recently started my channel in December and had one UA-cam short pop off! Definitely gave me encouragement to keep going ❤️
that's awesome, congrats!
Hi Katie! Great video, love your content! After lots of thoughts and overthinking in my head, I finally made steps and started my UA-cam channel. You are a big inspiration and with this video you just gave me even more motivated to make it work! thank you!!!
Yay a fellow Canadian! 🇨🇦 I've been watching your content for a long time, always helpful and inspiring 💙
I already have two channels, I just need to grow them. It is just so much harder to create long-form video content.
I Just started. But I’m honestly just having fun. Learning as I go. Good luck yall.
I love UA-cam! I appreciate everything you said in this video.
Your videos have helped me so much!! Almost at 1000 subscribers and learning and growing everyday :D
I agree 100% on everything you’ve shared here Katie!!!
Thank you for pointing all those things. It is soo true.
What if you’ve been thinking about it for awhile to start a new channel this is my main channel popping off with short form videos thinking about starting anew one doing long form videos does anyone have any kind of feedback for me I would appreciate it very much
Watching this during my lunch break 👌🏼✨ very excited to try some of the advice thank you ☺️
I find a lot of value in what you share, thank you.
Love watching your videos, I’ve started mine recently and will continue to watch your videos 🤗
Just discovered your channel this morning and love your content! Thank you for your Gear Guide too!
glad to hear it's helpful!! :)
Thanks for the video Katie, some great tips. I definitely always end up binging your videos to try and improve my channel 😄👍🏻xx
Your audio is top tier
This is super informative thank you. I want to start a channel for fun and to help people in my disability community.
Just made my first video! Learned a lot from your videos! Thank you! Gonna work hard and improve on my animations!
My main problem is I dont know what should I film for longer horizontal UA-cam videos. I usually do short beauty videos
I have had lots of success using UA-cam to promote my business. It really does work.
your brand deal transitions are always so smooth!
I am just delusional and believe that it will just come one day. I’m choosing to be grateful rn for being able to post whatever comes to mind and romanticizing the process ♡
love that energy! I spent 10 years being delusional that I could be a full-time youtuber one day, and eventually it happened! you've got this 💖
@@katie thank you!!! I just cleaned my kitchen watching your videos and I was just thinking about how genuine your energy was. I hope you have a great day!
