My Dad died in July of 2021. He was 1 month from his 92 birthday. He taught himself Silent Night in German.

Beautiful, indeed. Although personally, this Christmas hymn was one that I always had difficulty with (hard to sing [even badly] when you're choked up). Mostly because it reminds me of my late grandmother (mom's side of the family), plus the fact that she knew and occasionally sang the lyrics to "Silent Night" in German (she was half German), and that this was always the final hymn we sang at every Christmas service at St. Matthew Lutheran Church (while it was still an active church; now, while the building itself is still standing, it's a place offering various services to the homeless).
