Those lounges are tiny, the least /most realistic thing they could do is give everyone affected food and drink vouchers or organize some meals to be given to them and offer them blankets and pillows
My family missed our flight a couple years back on a Saturday. Wanted us to wait in line for another line for a few hours with a bunch of sorry souls stuck in the same predicament to catch a Wednesday flight. I noped the F out and booked a one way rental drove from Orlando to Boston in about 30 hours. Never will fly budget airline with family again and certainly wouldnt be waiting on delta if i was in this predicament.
How bout blaming the company they relied on for secure tech?? People don’t realize the logistics of running a massive schedule, as Delta does. Crew scheduling is usually the main cause of this failure. When you lose flight crews ability to keep the schedule in sync. It snow balls into a nightmare. Look at WN two years ago at Christmas. Same scenario.
maybe it's just me...I always find a different way home ... I got stuck in Vancouver booked a different flight just an hour later and home that night.... got stuck in JFK... saying the next flight I would be put on standby tomorrow...Book a flight on united two hours later to Heathrow England arrived on time to fly to Italy... (then got refunded later on when I got home)
I concur, I travel for business, so I’m always on the move, if one airline can’t cut it, I’ll switch airlines until I find one that does. Worse case, I’ll drive. Maybe one day here in the US, we’ll have the train infrastructure like Europe has.

Boston is an awesome place to be stranded with your family. Lots of revolutionary war historic sites, museum, art galleries and restaurants. Plus this added bonus if you remember when the Florida governor send those 58 migrants to the island of Marth's Vineyard? Yup. You got it: Lawyers.
At the very least, when a flight is delayed to this extent, Delta should open their lounges to everyone affected by the delay.
The lounge isn't that big. I've been in one.

This NEVER happened when they were using PAPER and no internet. No over bookings, Hot meals. Europe was only a 6 hour flight. God, I miss the '80s.

They are on their own.. I was caught in this mess on Saturday. I ended up re-renting a rental car and getting a hotel room.. Damn shame!!
