Anytime I do wheel bearings on a trailer I take a short ride and I feel the hub. If the hub is hot, you are probably a hair too tight. If packed well and adjusted right, trailer bearings aren't usually an issue. It's always lack of maintenance, or too tight, or poor quality bearings.
Bought a 6x8 trailer from the same company out of MtVernon it is only a single axle haven’t had any problems so far this vid means I should pay attention to the bearings on mine it could have the same bearing problems with the wrong bearings going to check them in a couple of days, glad you are getting some recourse from them but I would call for a new axle if that axle got that hot I’d will loose it’s temper and will not be as strong.
Yes, I'd pay attention. Hopefully this is a rare thing, but it does not seem like it at least from the Lippert axle end of things!! Best of luck! Thanks
Have new dexter heavy duty oil bath singles. They’ve done the same thing TWICE. Bearings failed almost caught fire. Rim and hub removable by hands afterwards.
Roller bearings don't go by weight. They are either sealed or not sealed. Either A- the wrong size was used or B- they were put on too tight (preload) The outter is a smaller beating and will fail the fastest from overheat. Greased or oil bath is not a factor for this failure.
