The only reason nobody is talking about him is because he is on San Antonio. If he was on the Lakers or Knicks he would be talked about all the time. That 2014 Spurs team was one of the best teams of all time, but the media only talked about them for a day after they won, when Lebron and the Heat won in 2013 they were talked about all summer long.

I hope you all get him too and I’m a Pistons fan. I want to see some variety in this league. So Spurs or Utah is where I want him to land. I’ve seen a lot too people wanting him to also land in OKC and I’m NOT for that at all.
This is what I've been saying bro! Keldon was my pick for MIP last season, I even made a whole video on it. But DeJounte took the spotlight, and rightfully so, but Keldon made huge strides last year too! I really hope we hold on to him
He's a very good player. I hope the Spurs keep him and for him to have a very successful future. The media doesn't talk about a team winning only 22 games all season . But the next season it will be different for him and the Spurs team with the super additions of new players to the team. Expect a good season coming shortly for the Spurs. He will be recognized and I wish him the best.
Keldon’s shooting and off ball presence improved so much this season. His skillset was much more limited the year prior. (He was still a talented young guy, but just predictable) It’s crazy because despite that I think his driving and ball handling took another leap too. He has some really clean plays against good players in this clip. It’s a joy to watch.
I was doing a rebuild randomly on 2K last night, actually around the exact same time this video dropped. I was making trades and saw Keldon was an 84 overall. I was so confused bc I didn’t think he was making strides like that. Thanks for this video lmao
Awsome analysis. I hope he can improve his ball handling skills this off season so he can be an elite driver while being a great three point shooter. His offensive imorovements has a similar growth like Kawhi's too.
I watched Keldon destroy my warriors in 2021 at home. I immediately got invested in his career. I didn't think it was a fluke and this video really solidified that in my mind.
I get the same feeling from Keldon this off-season that I got from DG last summer. Last year was Keldon’s “hey, this guy looks pretty good” year like how 2020-21 was garlands, and even tho I don’t think keldon will take the all star leap, next season he Will definitely be in all star contention averaging 22/9/3
Actually DJ as a no 1 scoring option never made sense to me, his offensive arsenal was very poor, KJ i can see it, especially if he can tighten his handle, improve his vision when attacking closeouts and hit free throws. I see 23/6/3 on decent efficiency..
@@robgucci7663 What’s crazy is the Cavs could’ve drafted him lol Shams had tweeted that they were targeting Keldon at 26…minutes before the actual pick or something like that & they ended it up taking Dylan Windler who’s nothing compared to KJ
im a spurs fan and this made me so happy. ive been so upset for this season and realizing really how good he is just brightened up my day and made me excited
Bro thank you! San Antonio doesn’t get love but KJ is very very solid and will most likely become much better this year. I’ll see NBA fantasy drafts of Young players and most ppl have no clue about KELDON… he’s special and can’t wait to see him this year

Been a fan since his rookie year..bro's improvement from 3 the past season is a really promising sign for him being a possible 1st option for SA..i could see him producing like 15-16 Kawhi if given the keys this season
I am pretty damn impressed with this kid. You can see why popovich kept him. If I was doing a rebuild and had a kid with that body and those creative moves well that's just a bucket getter and you can't have enough bucket getters. He plays like a veteran that's pretty amazing for second year guy. It's too bad that he had a teammate who finished second in the most improved player but like I said in an earlier comment the grizzlies had three of the top seven most important player candidates. I think the grizzlies versus the Warriors is going to be a thing for several years to come. I'm a Warriors fan but that grizzlies team is going to be tough as hell
I'm not watching many games in full, but I check the highlights and boxscores almost every day. Since about 30 years actually. Keldon shines in the boxscores, relatively to his perceived status, but looks undersized and not that athletic. Many times I was wondering how is he getting that excellent counting stats, particularly as the main offensive option. This video answered all my questions. Many thanks!
So I was talking about how keldon Johnson was a long shot and the race for most improved player next year. The first thing that I read had him is the 12th highest rated basketball player to receive odds for that reward. For those of you who might be curious here's a list of some of the front runners in order. Number one is a tie right now between Jalen Brunson / Anthony Edwards 3.R.J. Barrett 4. Okongwu 5.Jalen Green 6. LaMelo Ball 7. Cade Cunningham 8. Halliburton 8.SGA 9. Anfernee Simon's. That's the top 10 as it stands now. I can't remember who 11 is but after that it's Sheldon. That's a whole lot of people to try to jump. I think I got my money on halliburton. We'll see.
A lot of spurs fan I know like him but aren’t overly excited about him. Most look at him as a Relaiable spot up shooter but not much else on offense. They understand the defense potential but at the moment he’s good not great at it. Be interesting too see how he performs as a main option now
What I find strange is that Spurs fans were so high on him when he averaged 12 a game last year but have given up on his potential when all he did was become a much better player this year.
@@pokeninja97 Judging a player on one game is lame. Vassell got all those looks cause the Pelicans were focusing all the attention on DJ and Keldon. But credit to Devin for hitting all those big shots
Early returns from the season so far has it that you maybe a bit too conservative. However, he was a bit of a project if he was going to be hitting stardom a la Kawhi.
No…he wasn’t ever gonna be that #1 option on any team with his play style lol he wanted to get paid like he was some superstar in 2 seasons which would’ve been a disaster for us long term
Since the past few seasons he's been used more as a PF I always compared to Charles Barkley: both undersized 4s who could muscle their way in, shoot from three, rebound, and be all around good or great players. Not saying KJ will end up being a super star like Barkley but certainly he has the tools and enthusiasm to get very far. Also this year will be different with him being the go-to guy, not to mention likely moving to the 3 position like he was playing more at the end of the last season. Devin Vassell is the one that needs a huge jump this year.

The weird thing is and I'm not sure if this has ever happened before but out of the seven or eight guys that were nominated for the award three of them played from Memphis. Bane, Morant, Jackson all got a good amount of votes with Ja obviously finishing number one. That's pretty crazy that three guys from the same team would all be in the running for most improved player. Or the MIP as I like to call it.
